In this exercise for Multiple Sclerosis we are going to be targeting Side To Side balance, direction, and core strength using a drill called: SIDE STEP AND LEAN.
The goal of this exercise drill is to take a step to the side, brace your core, stop the momentum from your side step, pause, stay braced, and push or step your body back to center.
Training your brain to be able to step laterally and then reverse that direction is SUPER KEY FOR FALL PREVENTION because it activates specific centers of your brain, spinal cord, and joint receptors so you can improve:
    Balance
    Fall prevention
    Connection with your body
    Core strength
    Spinal strength
    Ankle mobility
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
Whether you just received a multiple sclerosis diagnosis or have been previously diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, on a multiple sclerosis drug treatment plan, treating multiple sclerosis through HSCT or through diet changes exercise is extremely important and should also be in your toolbox for dealing with your multiple sclerosis diagnosis. Live your life by design and NOT BY DIAGNOSIS.

Hoping that it works to prevent zig zag walks and fall. 😊

Trevor, thank you for these videso, they are super helpful. While I was doing the exercise, my right ankle was close to rolling as I stepped out. I've noticed this happening more often in the past few months. Do you have any vidoes that help with that? Thanks.

Had to deal with that for 2 yrs wheelchair / 5 yrs knee buckle. Probs was a bit lucky that not still in wheelchair, but a lot of floor exercise stuff. Pilates. Reformer work. Obviously because the exact problem will be so specific to you, obviously you want a 1 on 1 physio. But for my problem: lots of clams, bridges, straight leg raises and then progressively add weight / make it harder once you are able to put more and more bodyweight on the leg. But yeah would start on the floor. If you cannot transfer bed to floor, then I would get in touch with a professional physio as I am just some random dude on the internet that had to deal with the same MS bs.
