Nice. I’ve given up on broccoli and cauliflower. Mine get infested with aphids. But I was mostly growing through the heat of the summer. But I just don’t have space. If you’re going to plant earlier (July) you’ll likely need to leave some beds left empty or have less tomatoes (oh no!). I just remember all of your beds bursting and you trying to find room for your onion and garlic. But you’ll have two more beds by then! Enjoy your harvest.
When do you plant your garlic ? And how big are the heads that you harvest ? I plant in September-November and harvest Mid July over here in the north, I’m thinking about moving my farm to CO or NM and am trying to compare planting dates.
We plant garlic around mid-october here. Even into early November. That is what is also recommended by NMSU, our agricultural extension office. I'll probably harvest early April. I love in Southern NM though. I know it's colder and higher elevation in the northern part of the state near Colorado.
Yay! The garden is safe!
I grew the American Purple Top Rutabaga this year. I've never had one before. They're so good!
Yah so delicious and versatile!

I know that's the biggest problem is space 😭 but also yes...more beds soon!
