I was about to pull the trigger on the pre-order for the XREAL one pros, as i've been researching opinions on these glasses, and these seem to be the best way to go for productivity. Then you mention the potential ultra model.... I guess i'll hold off on my pre-order a little longer.. Thanks XD
It’s a tricky one, and for bad reasons. Seems to me that with their current release schedule, you’re only ever a max of 3-5 months away from a ‘better’ product, and I’m not really a fan of that! Problem with this system is that why get the Ultras when the Xreal One…2…could be just round the corner from those? 👀
Hey brother! No, although they definitely do warm up, it hasn’t been enough for me to notice it whilst wearing them (I’ll tend to only realise it when I hold them whilst removing them).
can you tell me if there are blurry spots on text. i dont mean edges. i mean do you see all text perfectly sharp or are some lines of text slightly off/blurry?
I tested this a little and it's not that the text is blurry I think it's the head movement thing. When you move your head you notice that the text is flickery like there's no...filter? Makes it feel like actual monitors have some kind of built in filter that this lacks so text is sharp not blurry but aliasing when it's small.
@ I'm not seeing blurry text yet but I've been using it for gaming. Funny thing I did your head shake test without the glasses and it makes my laptop screen looks blurry too. Is that the same kind of blur you're seeing?
Do you think the extra fov on the one pros will be meaningful? And when you do widescreen - I assume you can’t see the whole widescreen at once- your field of view is a box that when you turn your head you can see more left and right?
Both good questions - I think *any* extra FOV is definitely a perk, though I’d definitely tie it together with however much more cash we have to spend for it. I think the difference between the One and One Pro in terms of cost is low enough to suggest it’s worth the extra spend. Yessss exactly that with the widescreen - as I’m doing in the video, you need to move your head to see all the available screen space. It’s actually really, really cool and means you can have SO many things available on your virtual desktop!
I have these it really doesn’t make much of a difference it’s just a way to duplicate your monitor or your phone which is nice on a plane but once the novelty wears off they’re just a pair of glasses that duplicate screens and have mediocre audio.
@ I think this is where it’s important to gauge the use case, for sure - if you’re a gamer, these are great fun. If you’re running UW mode as a creative? These are super useful imo. There’s no doubt that only hooking them up to your phone is anticlimactic, for sure. As for the sound…I’d disagree. I think the audio is awesome considering they’re tiny speakers in a glasses frame, but my main point is that ultimately, it’s kinda redundant - most of us have the desire and / or social etiquette to wear headphones so I’d argue that the worst thing about the Bose implementation is that it’s overkill.
Hey! So, UW is basically redundant with iPhone. It just mirrors the display exactly as you’d see it on your phone - it doesn’t create more virtual display like it does with Windows or MacOS. Edit: it DOES work with new iPads, though!
@ ok, thanks for checking 👍 By the way, does it lose quality or functionality when plugged in via adapter to lightning port on older iPhone? Or is everything the same, no matter if it’s iPhone 16 or 11, regarding glasses.
Surprisingly enjoyable! I use them for Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere Pro now, and find them genuinely helpful in terms of being able to use ultra-wide mode to have so much on my ‘screen’ at any one time, as well as such a big screen. I don’t think this’ll necessary be specifically *better* with the Pros BUT you will have an extra 100 nits of brightness, as well as increased FOV…for the extra £100? It’s a tough call but if you can afford it, go for the Pros!
How firm is the connection of the USB cable to the glasses? Seems like it might be a place they'd use something with easy break-away so you don't hurt yourself (or damage the glasses) if you move and hit the end of the cable, but if they have something like that, there's also the concern of how firm it stays attached as you move your head around...
It’s a really good point, my man. It’s a fairly standard USB C port, and definitely not a magnetic ‘snap’ style - I think the best example of this I’ve seen so far is with the latest GoPro, which has a magnetic charging cable that works superbly well to safeguard against exactly what you’re talking about!
YES! But not until Q3 at the earliest, I imagine. Lots for ASUS to try to compete with this year, with the Legion Go 2 and MSI Claw 8 AI hitting the shelves!
Something that people aren’t talking about is whilst gaming on either the steam deck or Nintendo switch the backgrounds are stuttering within the games when moving the camera. This only happens when stabilisation is on in follow me mode or anchor! It’s so frustrating once you’ve seen it you can’t unsee it!
Hey pal! So I can’t replicate this as I’m running my Ally X rather than a Steam Deck - have you downloaded the latest firmware? There was a big release just a few days ago that might have solved this!
Didn’t resolve the issue, it’s definitely to do with the stabilisation in the glasses, as I said, once it’s turned off, the camera when in third person games is smooth, when it’s turned on and in follow of anchor mode, turning the camera in third person games is a little stuttery - Mario Odyssey etc even running in 2d side scrollers like Mario wonder, the background isn’t smooth it looks like it’s shaking a little, I’ve tested on sable on steam deck and caravan sandwich, same issue, it’s very small but like I’ve said once you see it you can’t unsee it - just stand still in the game and move the camera around your character or run in 2d side scroller and see for yourself, then unplug glasses and do the same thing on steam deck or switch and you’ll see the difference. I’ve tried every setting on glasses, can’t stop it from happening, fully updated too, just takes away from the gameplay and kinda looks like the FPS is dropping, but only in the background within the games

@ True. I could be playing the waiting game forever . I’ll likely stick with the one pros, I’m ready. 😏
i have rokid max. should upgrade this one or wait for 4k micro oled screen?
You’re going to be waiting a while for 4K screens in these, and they’ll be WAY more expensive when they drop (I’d guess literally double the price).
Perfect unbiased review

do you encounter any heat issue on the left temple? My air 2 pro heat asf upto 40c after updating to latest firmware!
Not in my use so far- text is legible generally, and even more so since a recent firmware update has introduced a ‘text optimisation’ option!
I have recently purchased these and will be returning them because of this problem. It is especially bad with dark mode with white text.
I tested this a little and it's not that the text is blurry I think it's the head movement thing. When you move your head you notice that the text is flickery like there's no...filter? Makes it feel like actual monitors have some kind of built in filter that this lacks so text is sharp not blurry but aliasing when it's small.
For SURE there is mass display blurring with head movement - it’s definitely one for the cons column.
@ I'm not seeing blurry text yet but I've been using it for gaming. Funny thing I did your head shake test without the glasses and it makes my laptop screen looks blurry too. Is that the same kind of blur you're seeing?

Is ultra wide mode working well with phone? Is there a different experience using this mode with phone or computer or iPad?
Hey! So, UW is basically redundant with iPhone. It just mirrors the display exactly as you’d see it on your phone - it doesn’t create more virtual display like it does with Windows or MacOS.
Edit: it DOES work with new iPads, though!

@ you’re welcome! This I can’t check, I’m afraid - I’m running an iPhone 16 PM so I’m running off of USB C!
Ultrawide mode is available with latest iPads. There’s a demo of that in TH-cam. Search for Xreal One iPad Ultrawide
@@shafqatullah5032 great intel - thanks!
