It's so impressive to see a HS serious about marching band!
I love watching these parades and listening J.P. Sousa´s marches.
Oh my god, I'm from Brazil and I love these ameriacans songs, and my dream is to play in this martial band of usa. It's a shame that here in Brazil is not march and folded. very beautiful, congratulations

I have seen military bands who have not have the straight lines and great sound of these kids.

It must be said that on the presidential head a heavy mortally difficult crown must rest,
And that is why the people find he is the one to stand behind to help the man to do his level best.
Reflecting still the Maker's will and being wise in recognizing that the Lord will lead us forward to the light of our salvation.
In our belief even the greatest chief of state will need benevolent Providence once begun
And should submit to heaven's host to benefit this land we love the power of his post in Washington!

What do they call the guy at the front who prances around with the bandmasters baton. Its a name unusual outside the US, but provides great entertainment at the University football!
That person is called the drum major.

+Bart Drennon, this is part of a regional band competition exhibition. Bands march individually past judges who grade them on appearance, uniformity of ranks and files, musicianship, the flag squad, and the opening twirling performance of the band major, and other criteria.
The band is playing the advanced version then what I played
Nicely done. However, I'm very curious about the arrangement. All the strains are played once instead of the usual twice, and then it's repeated from the top. Anyone care to explain the reasoning?
It's so they don't bust out their chops or run out of energy to play. Most high schools do this because they aren't quite at a level that can play and march long and loud songs.
My band did a variation on liberty bell where we played only one time through all of the parts so we didn't suck the next time we played

Your explanation makes sense, except that they go back to the top at the end. Presumably, they'll do the whole thing again, which brings it back to the original length. (actually a little longer since the intro doesn't usually get repeated.)
