    This is awesome!! Is there a way to set a specific loop length from the beginning with this device? I'm looking to sync it up with my drum machines, so this kind of functionality would decide whether or not I go with this looper

    • @uevo
      @uevo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man!
      Yess you can set a bpm, and the amount of bars it should loop, or do it manually.
      I don't think you can sync it to a drum maschine that it starts recording at the time the drum maschine begins it's loop. You'd have to time it manually, but maybe there is a way, i didn't try to figure it out.
      I think there's also a option to load sounds into the 505 from the computer, so maybe that's a possibility?

    Тhanks, super. tell me if you can. I have a question I don't know what to do. overdubbing, saving in a looper. I turn on the playback, everything is fine, but when I dump it to the laptop via the cable, the playback is very, very quiet, I connect the speaker, nothing changes. maybe in the Looper settings you need to change some parameter when sending a file. help if you can with advice. Thank you

    I’m really blown away with your performance.
    I have a question can I plug in the looper to my Blackstar ht club 40 amp? And make my loops on it?
    And also can I connect my microphone to the looper and connected same to the amp? Do let me know thanks a lot! And keep it up!

    • @uevo
      @uevo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!
      Yess you can plug it to your amp, you can use a 6.3mm jack to connect them, you can do it in mono or in stereo.
      The Boss Rc-505 has it's own audio interface, so thats amazing. You can easily attach a mic and a guitar at the same time.
      It's a really workflow friendly machine, I would recommend it for sure :)

      @PaulAdamssongs 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uevo Music Well thank you for responding that was helpful. My biggest concern would be getting the endpoints screwed up if both hands are working pretty busy. And I did notice that it has a function where you can go back one if you screw something up.

    • @uevo
      @uevo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always happy to help :)
      Yeah so you can set each individual loop to a certain loop amount, and if you preset the metronome on the right tempo and make it count down 1 measure you can’t miss.
      The other thing i now do is work with a footpedal.

    I need a setup like this for getting stuff out of my brain and on to a DAW or something. Something I can practice with with the PC switched off/ live basically.

    • @uevo
      @uevo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there, yeah this workflow of just getting things straight out of your head is amazing.
      And for drums I've used a keyboard with midi drum samples from my laptop like here, or a Maschine Mikro MK3, also with midi samples. You can also get a stand alone drum machine, but for me it works fine to have to computer connected.

      Hey there, so the RC-505 is a stand alone machine. I've got my laptop running with Logic Pro with drum samples loaded in, sometimes i also used other midi instruments or guitars/microphones. My laptop is connected to my audio interface, and the interface goes to the looper.
      I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions :)

    • @uevo
      @uevo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks man!
      I run my bass into my audio interface and through my laptop, guitar goes straight into the 505.
      In this setup I only used my mixer to send the output signal to my speakers, and to my field recorder.
      But sending multiple instruments through the mixer seems like a good plan, I just use my laptop for effects on them :)

  • @daniel6959

    Hi,
    What kind of loop station would you recommended for live gigs, looping guitar and bass and maybe some recorded shakers to play on the piano over it? Im thinking how to avoid using my laptop etc.
    Is Boss RC 30 or RC 50 enough to do that ?

    • @uevo
      @uevo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there,
      Thats a difficult question. I mean, any loopstation will do. You just have to use a mixer to send all the different sounds to the looper.
      I'm not sure how you're gonna play recorded shakers on the piano without a laptop or a sampler?
      The Boss RC30 and RC500 will do the trick for you. But they are only foot controlled, and you have less channels to record on. You can also think about the Boss RC202, with this one you have a bit more FX possibilities and visual control.
      The next step is the Boss RC300 and RC505, which have a lot more controls. The 300 is made to be foot controlled and the 505 by hand, but you can connect a food pedal to the 505.
      So yeah it comes down to how much you want to spend, how much control you want, and if you want it foot or hand controlled :)

    what made you choose the rc 505 over the 300? I am in the middle of making my decision. you are the first musician i have seen use the 505 super effectively compared to the 300. i am going to most of my loop building at home then use them live while i mainly just use my vocals live.
    would love your input on it

    • @uevo
      @uevo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Travis Williams Adventure , hey man.
      I chose the 505 because i got inspired by artists like Tash Sulatana, Masego and Dovydas, who all use the 505. The 300 was never really an option for me because the visual interface of the 505 is just so practical. You can really see what you are doing, adjust loop lenghts, choose your tempo or use effects so easily.
      I heard that the 300 should have better quality for audio, but i never noticed any problems with it.
      The 505 is more oriented to use with your hands in my opinion, but you can connect a foot switch as well. The 300 can maybe be more fluent if you want to use it with your feet.
      I hope it helps with your desicion :)

      @@uevo thanks man! I did apt of researching yesterday and i chose the 505, it's just miles away with it's capability.
      Thanks for replying! Your videos hped influence my decision just becaue of how well you could flow while looping and that was my biggest concern about using my hands when I am also playing piano. Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated!

      @@traviswilliams4383 Good to hear man, I think you'll have a lot of fun with it.
      Yeah I think it will be allright by switching it by hand, but you can get a foot switch for 50 bucks or less, so that's always a future option.
      Happy I could help :)

    Love this!!! Did you send the bass and guitar through the loop station to separate amps or to the DAW and used amp plugins?

      Through the DAW!

    Hey, im struggling with my Boss RC505. I can't seem to get my guitar connected up to the input for some reason, I have installed all the drivers and had it working before but now there's no noise when I try. Any ideas?
    Love your videos by the way

      Hey there, did you plug your guitar straight in to the instruments input on the 505?
      If you put your instrument gain up and have output volume then it should work, I've never had to install drivers or anything.
      If this doesn't work then maybe a broken cable or something?

    How do you trigger the first loop with the bass? i.e. how do you get it to start recording as soon as you start playing (not as soon as you press the loop)?

    • @uevo

      I used the countdown feature in the rhythm settings!

    can you explain a little how you have this set up? are the instruments running through the mixer and then into the rc-505 and then into your daw?

      Hey there,
      I tried to do an explanation video a while ago, maybe it helps a bit :)

      Basically I use the mic/guitar direct in to the looper. And I use the output of my audio interface to host any extra sounds and midi instruments :)

      The 505 does not have autorecord. I used the countdown function, so I had 4 clicks before it started recording :)
      You can find this function in the rhythm section

    Hey bro this is awesome (: i got a Question though. If my song has 2 different chord progressions and even potentially a bridge which is different at one point, what is the feasibility of performing it with this looper? Is it possible to play 2 separate chord progressions seamlessly with this? Ive been looking into it a lot so any advice would be appreciated (:

      Hey there, thanks man!
      I've also tried this multiple times and it is possible, but I can't really recommend it.
      The option that worked best for me is to use a foot pedal (Boss FS-6). If you set it up to stop one loop and start the other, you could switch quite easily. I think I did this in this video: th-cam.com/video/6Fn_ysESi-I/w-d-xo.html
      The other thing that I do is just stop the loop that you have and play the bridge or another part separately. In a way that you only play one instrument at the time, and maybe let the drums play through.
      The tricky thing that I encountered is that is very slow with adding on loops if you use two different progressions, and it can get a bit messy because you need to split up 5 loops to 2 different progressions instead of 1. I had to combine multiple sounds on 1 track because there was no free loops left.
      So yes it is possible, and it's quite a fun experiment, but my experience with this is that I'd rather focus on working on a single loop if I use the looper.
      If you're goal is to live loop full songs with multiple parts to it maybe learning Ableton live might be a good consideration as well.
      Hope it helps man :)

      @@uevo thank you so much for taking time to respond. I'm checking out the video now and the info is super helpful. I appreciate the suggestion I'll look a bit more into it and maybe even try to get something going on a pre recorded bass/drum line i can just input in whenever.
      You are right though, it had to do with my songs having multiple guitar parts in ea section, and how you go about switching nicely. The adding multiple loops on one track was an interesting feature.
      Anyways thanx a log again i appreciate it

      Happy to help man!
      I've never worked with pre recorded stuff on the looper yet, but you can put audio files from the computer on there as well. So that could be a possibility.
      The most tricky thing I found that I noticed that I started to focus more on the transition happening than on actually losing myself and playing freely. I would take a lot of my attention to make sure I switched the right loops to the next section that I would start making mistakes playing. But I think this also a skill you can train.
      Feel free to let me know what your experience is or if you have any video's to share :)
