Dr.Wily: For some reason, Hyrule Field is haunterd. Deku Tree Sprout: Long ago, before the King of Hyrule unified this country, there was a fierce war in our world.
The thing about the hover boots is absolutely true. When I was younger I had severe problems beating Ganon because you would get knocked around the arena. I was hard stuck on Ganon until I read about taking the hover boots off to circumvent being kicked around the arena, years after release
Fun fact about the fisherman in Lake Hylia. If you steal his hat and then lose it by landing the hat in the pond using the fishing rod, the fisherman will permanently lose his hat. Even in the game's credits he will be shown without it (It's easier to lose the hat if you use the fishing rod while standing on top of the tree stump in front of the lily pads)
You didn't test the Ganon myth right as they said the fight, and as others have said, wearing the Hover Boots in the Ganon fight makes it both a bit harder and a bit easier. Harder in the sense everytime he normally knocks you back you WILL go sliding across the battleground, and like 75% of the time, hit the fire wall which also sends you flying the other way sliding a bit. They make it easier, however, as when you roll between his legs, the momentum puts you in the perfect place to jumpslash the tail tip with Z-targetting if done right. I always fight him like this. Also, the dog claim isn't false. I have also done it personally, though, only once, and I have no idea how to replicate it, but it was also ironically enough a randomiser run, so maybe that's part of the key I dunno.
hell I forgot about this. I was thinking the magic volley fight before that part, as I've abused the hover boots in this fight quite a lot, though its no where near as big an increase as the final fight is.
It's perfectly easy to orchestrate. Easy to exploit, too. Do a jump attack in front of such such that Link enters its aggro range mid-jump. Link will be frozen midair and mid-attack, and the lock will be broken just in time for the ReDead/Gibdo to have come into range of the strike. If you're using Adult Link with the Master Sword or Biggoron's Sword (or Giant's Knife before it's broken), the ReDead will be killed instantly. I don't know why, but jump attacks from the Master Sword hit ReDeads and Gibdos twice if you're positioned right, and this setup tends to hit that sweet spot
@@devonm042690 I hadn't even considered jump ATTACKS. I was just thinking, full, midair, off the ledge, kind of jumps. Your method is definitely a really cool idea though. Although, if you have to wait for the freeze to end every time, wouldn't it probably be faster, in most cases, to just go around and hit it from the back where it cannot freeze you. Then again, there is that one at the exit to Ganondorf's Castle that's standing in a super inconvenient spot... I will have to try this. Thank you.
True! Was about to comment the same thing. For those unaware, Ocarina items is a glitch preformed with a bottle that lets you use any item you can hold forever as a functioning ocarina.
The Fire Temple can absolutely be beaten without the Goron Tunic, it's just tough because of the timer. The time on the timer is based on your current health and you really only need enough to have a little over 2 minutes to get through each room. As for Volvagia, use arrows (or Ice Arrows if you have them) to do extra damage while he's flying in the air. The Megaton Hammer is required to deal the final blow but you could reduce his HP down to basically zero. The ReDeads, I think you covered already but, they don't attack you if you walk slowly or walk with Iron Boots on. They will however still chase you if you have a weapon out. Love the videos, I continue to learn new things.
Minor correction. The glitch to equip items as the other age is not called ocarina items. It's called equip swap. Ocarina items is a glitch which allows most items to be used as an ocarina.
If you use the hover boots on spikes, you can walk over the invisible spikes! 2 If you use the hover boots in the desert, you won't sink into the sand!
About #2, I know this trick because of my rando runs. I learned somewhere (probably a rando OoT help site) that you can get across like that. Or I might have learned it on a live stream of the game.
6:45 - "Ah, yes, I am quite familiar with this one! Its probably where the Gossip Stones that change color if a certain song is played in Majora's Mask came from as I imagine the devs discovered the trick either during OoT development or MM's development and were like maybe we can create a secret around them changing color that leads to a piece of heart for this new game! The color stop is just a fun little exploit that I found messing with Gossip Stones as a kid!" 7:50 - "Yep this one surprised me as well when I found out about it! That's the thing about OoT, even after all these years some stuff was simply missed! Or we found it and then forgot about it that's entirely possible as well! Memory isn't set in stone especially after some time has passed!" 11:34 - You can also just kill the Like Like to get your stuff back as they will drop any tunic or Hylian Shield it eats if you kill them (just don't exit the room or warp away)! Killing them is usually pretty easy as long as you keep your distance!
Fire Temple Fun Facts -The Megaton Hammer 🔨 isn't required anywhere outside of the Fire Temple (and that one puzzle in GTG (Optional)) until Ganondorf's Castle. Which makes it the Temple which is least bound by the "intended" order of Temples. So long as you do it before the final Temple, the Shadow Temple (Yeah I said it, Spirit before Shadow) you can do it whenever. You don't even need the Bow to complete it so you can do it first if you want to. - You can defeat the Flare Dancer with nothing more than your Hookshot. It actually does do damage, so no sword required. Also, the Megaton Hammer can remove it from it's Dancer state in no time with just the shockwave... and flip Torch Slugs. - The outside of Volvagia's arena can be climbed on, and if you stay there you can prematurely end parts of Volvagia's attack patterns. You can also damage Volvagia with arrows if his armour is already been broken but that might have been mentioned already. - The Fire Temple map implies that it fills the inside of Spectacle Rock, which is the name of the two spires outside the temple and a recurring location in LoZ. - You can cast Farore's Wind after falling through one of the many holes in the Fire Temple and it will warp you back to the door where you entered the room UPSTAIRS instead of the point where you entered the current room (Which would technically be midair at the base of the aforementioned hole). So even without forethought and planning you can forego having to reclimb the temple. It's a simple and probably very well known trick but very useful for saving time. - In the room where you are chased by the fire wall, you can jump into it to make it reset. This isn't a bad idea if you want to avoid the pressure of the time limit and make that awkward jump to the locked door easier. -There are some rooms in the Fire Temple that don't require the Heat Resistance, I guess they've got air conditioning, IDK. Anyways this makes it perfectly possible to complete the fire Temple without a Goron Tunic. - One of the blocks in the main room (with the bridge) skyrockets you into the air where you'll find another little secret alcove with more of that delicious health 💕.
i think i mentioned this in a previous video, but... the hammer can affect lots of things that you are expected to use Bombs for, like opening several secret areas in hyrule field, breaking boulders, etc. i once did the Water temple before the fire temple, because i wanted to see if anything unusual happened if you shoot Volvagia with Ice arrows. (you need to longshot for a few parts of that Gerudo Training area) i was disappointed, nothing unusual happened.
Not sure where you got the idea that Volvagia has armor that can be removed. You have to stun it with the Megaton Hammer every time it returns to Phase 0 (its whack-a-mole state), and arrows _don't_ work on it in that state. They only work on it in Phase 1 or Phase 2 (its attacking states), and only Phase 1 (the state where it flies around trying to claw at you or roast you) can be interrupted in any way (hitting it with an arrow or climbing down onto the side of the platform will end Phase 1 if it's in progress; if I'm fighting Volvagia without the Bow I just immediately get onto the side of the platform after damaging it. If it goes into Phase 1 it just pops out and goes right back into an adjacent hole, back to Phase 0). It would make sense that the Fire Temple was built into Pinnacle Rock. It is a Goron Temple, after all. The Goron Tunic is only required in areas within Death Mountain Crater that have lava in them. Convection, Schmonvection is partially in effect though, because you don't need it in rooms directly above rooms with lava in them that have pits or grates. Perfect example is the one room with an eye switch in it.
@@devonm042690 Maybe I'm misremembering but I could have sworn you needed to stun it at least once with the Megaton Hammer for the nose to be hittable by the arrows in it's flying state.
i swear its so weird when you watch these vids and you go "OH MY GOD YEAH!!! HOW DID I FORGET!?" and the memories come flushing back and you gotta pause the vid cause youre stuck thinking back to your childhood days
The glitch to use child items as adult or vice versa is called "equip swap", not ocarina items. The glitch ocarina items is where you play different items like an ocarina using a bug/fish bottle.
The Stalchildren not appearing on the path is supposedly a reference to Zelda 2, where staying on the path won't spawn enemies. It's a really obscure reference. Also you can use Ice Arrows to freeze those metal sliding things.
The dogs will follow you out of Castle Town... if you're playing Ship of Harkinian, which has an option specifically to enable that. This happens to be a very popular way to play the game nowadays.
what mightve happened with the dog leaving the area is that they mightve been playing the ship of harkinian decomp of oot which has an option to make dogs follow you everywhere and they turned it on and then forgot about it
Hearing about “The Unicorn Fountain” brought so many GameFaq memories. People claiming you can learn a secret sword technique. There’s obviously nothing underneath Zora’s frozen Domain, but you can reach there without hacks or mods. It could work for other versions but i only did it on Wii VC, you clip outside of Lake Hylia’s geometry by unequiping Iron Boots right in front of the Water Temple entrance. Once outside the geometry, you have to stay slightly below the geometry by constantly equipping and unequiping Iron Boots, but not too far down otherwise you void out, and swim behind the frozen Zora’s Domain shortcut to access it. If you enter Zora’s Domain underneath the ice, equip the Iron Boots immediately because if Link swims too close to the icy surface he’ll clip through the ice and be topside as normal. Again there’s no point to doing it but it’s pretty neat. Sorry for essay comment lol
you can do it from inside the domain too, by jumpslashing just right so you clip through a wall in the throne room, and then aiming your fall so you land in the water and can swim over to the regular area.
You can beat the fire temple without the red tunic. The more hearts you have, the more time you get. I’m not sure, but I think you can stay under water for longer with more hearts as well
Yep both are linked to the current number of hearts you have filled the moment the timer starts and one second equals 1/8 heart. Meaning that at full health with maximum hearts, upon entering the hot (or underwater) area with a green tunic, you have 2:40. But if you took ten hearts of damage upon entering said area, the timer would start at 1:20 instead
Not only is it possible, it's not even all that hard. Most of the time you don't spend a lot of time in the heated/underwater rooms. The toughest is probably the Volvagia fight, but many people miss that you can just fire arrows and greatly speed up the fight.
I seem to remember one in OoT related to ReDeads where if you could time and release a charged spin attack just right before they paralyze you where the blue magic part of it is on screen, they will take damage when they walk into the spin attack area. This might be kind of hard to pull off though.
The pole lighting up part in the desert with gerudo mask is just more proof that you were meant at one point to go there as young link a lot sooner in the game but it was cut
The fortress having a heart piece also suggests that child Link would go there at one point. There was a lot of content cut from the game, the gigaleak revealed a ton of ideas they had but never implemented.
Lol I remember when I found out you can steal the fishing guy's hat. Here's an interesting one: While you're selling masks for the Happy Mask seller, if you return without the correct amount of rupees, he makes the scariest face ever and kicks you out of his shop!😆
The iron boots working on ice has never been a myth... it was in the item description AND the instruction manual, and EVERY print guide that released when the game did... Who claimed this was a myth, I thought EVERYONE knew this? Like seriously, I thought everyone knew this. The hover boots in Ganon's fight is true... I can't believe you thought the knock back of a spike trap was a good comparison... This may have been an N64 game, but different attacks very visibly have different properties, so why would you assume all knockbacks are the same? I've actually abused this to avoid getting knocked down to the lower floor when I know I can't avoid the hit. Gorons have more knockback than those spike traps.
you can also swim and roll around in the water with the fisherman's hat and lose it and he'll be upset. I forget if there's other interactions or a penalty but I remember once messing around and losing his hat in the water and he said something special.
I don't know how well known that is, but if you go to the end of the back alley in castle town right after the cutscene where you get the ocarina of time, you'll see a dying guard who you can talk to.
I was playing an OOT randomizer and somehow one of the dogs from Hyrule Castle town followed me out and till the end of the game when I went to fight Gannon he followed me literally EVERYWHERE. IT EVEN TELELPORTED. From Ghoma to the darkness of the Shadow Temple the dog was my eternal faithful companion. I named him Todo the Wonderdog.
omg thank you for featuring my suggestions! i'm so flattered, thank you so much! i'm sure i can dig up some more fun myths and facts in the future, but for now, i'm just going to sit back and enjoy the video
When i was a kid i never get the fire tunic, never stop de rolling goron, and never get acces to the goron shop as an adult Link. So i jump from the top of the volcano with the long hook and the scarecrow song to create a new path towards the fire temple.
If you touch one of the dogs in Castletown and use one of the warp songs, it will follow you to the area you warp to. Not really useful, but it is interesting.
I think the reason the bugs didn't show up is because they dig into the ground before you reach the loading zone for the cutscene. The fish continue to flop around for a long time and are close enough that it doesn't despawn when you hit the loading zone. I'm not very technical but this is the best reason i could think of.
I commented this on an older Majora's Mask video, but I'm hoping you'll be able to see it here easier: For the Honey and Darling shop, not only can you shoot them, but if you do it enough they will kick you out. Found this one out the hard way
2:07 - Actually he also appears in Kakariko Village in the adult timeline, just climb the stairs near the small house that functions as an Inn and he'll be sitting beside some crates! Mind you his model is easily recognizable as it was reused for the Clock Town Banker in Majora's Mask which is kinda fitting as his Hyrulean counterpart is a source of obtaining Rupees via selling certain bottle items like bugs and fish! 2:26 - "I wasn't sure about the selling price as its been awhile since I played but I do remember Fish selling for a decent amount and 100 Rupees isn't bad especially if you full a bunch of bottles with them! Also remember you can do this by speaking to him in Kakariko Village as Adult Link which is useful especially once you acquire the Giant's Wallet! 2:36 - "I totally agree he probably got the price for buying fish mixed up with the price for selling them! That's why I was unsure as I remember they sold for a large amount but wasn't sure if it was 200 or 100, though 100 makes a lot more sense as its half of the price the shops charge Link for them!" 3:20 - "Sadly you need to go through the Ice Cavern to get the Iron Boots so yeah they won't do you much good once you get them unless you decide to back track through the entire mini-dungeon to leave it (when you can just warp out or use Farore's Wind if you set up a warp point near the Ice Cavern's entrace, as Farore's Wind can be obtained from the Great Fairy Fountain hidden within Zora's Fountain in either the Child or Adult sections, though tended to get it early ever since I realized that large wall near the different types of boulders was bombable)! Still they can make other ice sections later in the game like frozen portions of Ganon's Castle easier to deal with and getting around the never melting ice in Zora's Domain without sliding! Then again I kinda got used to it cause the Hover Boots make Link slip as well so you kinda learn to live with it if you like rocking the Hover Boots (still wish there was a 3D Zelda game that would introduce the Pegasus Boots as that's one thing from the older 2D games that never made the jump to 3D outside of say Hyrule Warriors (Young Link uses them to perform his Triforce Slash combo while in his base Hylian form as you can see little wings on his boots thus explaining how he is able to move so fast without the Fierce Deity Mask)!
*The following are the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!* [EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] 3:23 - "Except in Twilight Princess! Attack them enough times and somehow Link gains control of the Cucco he was attacking! I'm serious! Its like Nintendo and/or the gods of Hyrule gave the CUCCO REVENGE SQUAD a vaction during the Era of Twilight and granted the Hero of Twilight the ability to posess them (probably cause his wolf form allows him to speak to Cuccos)!" 3:35 - "Oh, do tell! I mean as a bird I wouldn't want to see the CUCCO REVENGE SQUAD overworked as they work hard enough as it is!" 4:10 - "Everyone knows that OoT Cuccos are hydrophobic! I mean just try throwing one into a body of water! Mind you, I think it may have something to with how Gerudo Valley is set up!" 8:40 - "BOO! You didn't try it during the Ganon fight!" 10:19 - "Like I said, Cuccos in OoT are notoriously hydrophobic (fear/hate water)! Seriously they will fly super high if they touch water!" 10:57 - "Hey, I didn't say it would work! All I was saying was that Cuccos do seem to dislike water in OoT! Mind you Cuccos in Twilight Princess are surprisingly good swimmers while Cuccos in BotW seem to dissolve in water (actually they just despawn and reappear at their original spawn point)! Not sure if the same thing happens in Tears of the Kingdom!" 11:58 - "Oh, please tell me he's going to try it with bugs this time!" 12:00 - "YES! That's the first thing I thought when I saw the previous one with the Fish!" 12:24 - "Dang! I figured it might not work due to their tendency to scuttle around too much after being released and the fact there are several of them!" 15:36 - "Oh, SONG OF STORMs you truly are a wondrous song! From causing Bean Sprouts to spawn fairies in OoT, to making Bean plants grow up into Magic Bean Platforms in MM, to curing Link of JINXED status from coming into contact with Blue Bubbles in MM, to the fact you were somehow created by Terminan Composer Brother Sharp in MM to somehow end up creating a Bootstrap paradox in OoT! Now you can make the Lens of Truth glitch so it doesn't drain magic in either OoT or MM! Truly you are one of the most useful songs of the N64 Era!" 16:21 - Ah, yes! I believe it maybe be the RAMBLING OWL who mentions the trick of sticking to the paths to avoid Stalchildren (I mean he does tend to RAMBLE wherever you encounter him on Hyrule Field so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a nugget of wisdom in his RAMBLINGs which most of us missed cause we were too busy trying to skip to the end though carefully enough that we didn't accidentally make him repeat his RAMBLINGs over and over)! Or it was the instruction booklet or maybe even the Nintendo Power players guide?! Heck maybe it was a Gossip Stone hint!" 17:50 - "Well there is only one way to find out! Mind you I've heard this too but I can't remember if it worked or if it didn't! I think it did but then again my memory isn't what it used to be!" 18:07 - "So my vague memory was correct! Still nice to know Hyrulean Stalchildren are afraid of Bunnies!" 18:31 - "Eh, stealing the Fishing Pond Owners hat is pretty much OLD HAT as far as OoT fishing pond tricks go!" 18:55 - "You can give it back to him if you want but if you lose it he charges you for the loss! Still I think if it is lost its lost for good! Still its pretty well known as far as the Fishing Pond is considered!"
Hey Dr Wily, I've got an interesting glitch I used to pull off back when I was a kid. As far as I know the only place I've ever done this glitch is at Lon Lon Ranch (whether it works in other locations I cannot remember) In order to do the glitch I pulled out the hook shot (longshot is recommended) and went into 3rd person aiming where you see link on screen. Then I think I pulled out my equipped shield whilst aiming then went out of aiming mode. This caused two interesting things to happen. 1. If you kept the hook(long)shot in your hand and didn't put it away, the red dot you use for aiming will still be onscreen and flies around as link walks or runs. 2. If you go back into aiming the hook(long)shot whether it be 1st or 3rd person, when you shoot you can still move around, this causes the chain of the shot to extend in weird directions as you move. Try it out. 👍
The weird hookshot angles I did all the time fighting the water temple boss trying to pull Morpha out while jumping around to avoid the additional tentacles in 3rd person aiming
Of course one bomb wouldn't kill a Blue Bubble. They have the same damage value as the Master Sword and the Bow, and it takes two hits with those to kill them.
It's really funny and a better alternative than deku nuts or bombs sometimes. I hope he records it😊 bombchus and blue bubble going to the wall and climbing up... "I believe i can fly"🤭
I swear the Cucco ones are just an ongoing saga at this point lol Also the Like-Like one, iirc the trigger for losing your gear is when it spits you out. As long as you do it before then it’ll work
I bet you the Fish appearing in Saria's lap has something to do with how the fish is used in the Jabu Jabu cutscene. I don't know what, but I'm 90% sure that's the right direction.
Hey Doc, I have a Funny Glitch you should try with the skultulas on Death mountain at the Climable Wall as Adult Link, use the Megaton Hammer and Bang it on the ground constantly and they will start bouncing and Dying over and Over
Another enemy that can be defeated multiple times is the Floormaster. When he starts to split into 3 creatures, position yourself in the center of them and try to repeat the quick spin attack a few times and he will drop more loot, enough to fill his previously empty magic bar!
In the Shadow Temple, if you put on the hover boots, the invisible spikes won't damage you. Also, you can defeat Dark Link really easily with the megaton hammer. It sorta cheeses the fight though. Furthermore, you can make it through the haunted wasteland without the poe's help, both backwards and forwards, it's just hard to do, and you'll have to memorize the path. This means that you can also enter some places as child Link too. ;)
Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but there's a nice infinite money trick you can do in OOT. Have at least 2 bottles and catch a bug. Release the bug and 3 will come out which you can catch in 3 more bottles. You can keep doing this, and selling them for 50 rupees a pop to the same guy who buys fish for 100
he's probably gonna "fact check" this even though it was so well known it was on GameFAQs right after the game came out. I mean, he didn't know the iron boots give you traction on ice even though the game literally tells you this either in the item description when you first get them, by sheik mentioning it, or both. Hell, he didn't even know that staying on the paths stopped stalchildren from spawning, and the owl tells you this the first time you come out of the forest
Something I learned recently: Redeads morn other Redeads! If you kill a Redead and there are others nearby, they will walk over to the dead Redead and crouch beside it as if to morn it's loss.
Here's one for you. If you deliver the Poacher's Saw as Adult Link and then try to get one of the Forest Theatre rewards afterwards, they will treat it as old news even if you never got that reward on that file.
If you do a jump attack and then proceed to use crouch stabs only, every stab will do the same amount of damage as the jump attack. It is important that you don't use any other attack in between because this will cancel the former damage value. It is easy to demonstrate on blue tektites and works with every weapon that allows crouch stabs. But this is somewhat of a speedrun trick after all, not a myth. But it is easy and usefull as well.
the "C Item guy" is in the Market when youre a Child, but he moves to Kakariko when you become an Adult...im only mentioning this, because the grotto nearby (the one behind the Potion shop) has a Fish in it, and its a lot quicker to scoop up the Fish from Kakariko and sell it in Kakariko, compared to fishing in Zora's Domain to trek alllll the way back to Market every time... ...but then again, you actually DONT need that many Rupees in the game...off the top of my head, all i can think of is the 40-Rupee Deku Shield, to get past Mido in the Forest...after that, you can find all of your Ammo (sticks, nuts, seeds, arrows, etc) in Grass, so you never need to Shop for it...even the Hylian Shield can be obtained for FREE, by moving one of the Graveyard's tombstones (the one thats "front and center", when entering the Graveyard from Kak)...other than that, yes, youll need Rupees for certain Minigames (like the Zora Diving game, for the Silver Scale) but you can usually Make That Money Back, and then some, with that minigame...Zora Diving is 20 Rupees to Start, but you have to grab 5 Blue Rupees to Win (a 5-Rupee Profit); subsequent Dives may spawn in larger Rupees as well, like reds or purples... also, when trying to free Epona fron Ingo's clutches, youll need to HAVE about 50 Rupees in your wallet: pay Ingo 10 Rupees to "ride one of [his] fine horses", but then Jump Over the fences inside the corral to get a Blue Rupee from each one (so youve made your 10 back); pay Ingo a second time, get your Rupees back again, and then talk to him While On Epona to start the "Race for the Horse" wager...this is why you need 50 Rupees, but as long as you Win, you never have to PAY those 50 Rupees-- you just have to HAVE them, to start the Wager-Race... ...so, basically 110 Rupees (spending 60, holding 50) is all you need to beat the game, which means that you dont even need the Adult Wallet, since you never need more than 99 Rupees... (but then again, why am i so concerned about "saving" my Rupees? there are SO MANY ways to quickly fill even the Giant 500-Rupee Wallet, that my Wallet Number always showed the green "full-capacity" digits)
Link can do a trick shot. Have the bow out and while jumping off a cliff/edge he can shot at the monsters. He can also shot a arrow while doing a backflip.
There is a trick that I call ghost bullet. It makes your projectile intangible for a few frames and then hits the target behind it! It is more visual and interesting than practical. But there are situations in Ocarina MQ that can be useful, for example Inside The Deku Tree and in Dodongo's Cavern. I am testing whether the boss Barinade also suffers from the boomerang's intangibility when he raises his electric shields. The glitch involves preparing your seed bullet or projectile and it does not matter whether you lock on with Z or not, but after shooting the bullet you need to find a target that opens Navi's text bubble. After Navi says her description of the target, your projectile shot will be intangible for a few frames and will hit the target a little behind where the projectile reaches😮 (If you remembered Tobi from Naruto you weren't the only one lol )
One interesting fact is also, if there are multiple re-deads in the same room, killing one will make the other forget about you and it will walk towards its fallen brother, completely ignoring you.
that saved my ass in the Ultimate Trial mod. though you wanna make sure you get behind all redeads before you do it, otherwise if you kill one in front of you, they're both coming right your way and you can get nabbed (They don't COMPLETELY ignore you if you're right in front of them)
Building on the fishing spot, if you use the hat to fish, you can lose it forever and the fishing man will fine you 50 rupees. Also, if you wander around the back area of the pond (might need to research rates of appearance and exactly how to procure one) you can find a sinking lure to fish out an eel-like fish called the Hylian Loach.
The Red Tunic must be more durable than your old one. 18:52 Hey, what are you doing? I told you not to do that! You're terrible! Seriously! You can also lose his hat in the water.
- Giant's Knife is not useless. It will never break if you do Spin Attacks or the ISG glitch. In fact, Power Crouch Stab + ISG Giant's Knife is op (until you get Biggoron). - You can crash the game if you do the Song of Storms + Elemental Arrows command right after. - Instead of Song of Storms + Lens in places where you can't use Ocarina, you can do: a quick spin attack + Lens = Infinity Lens, plus unlocked magic bar to use simultaneous magic! For example: Infinity Lens + Elemental arrows in combo.... (yes, Lens and Ice Arrows in Bongo Bongo will work!) The magic bar will stop blinking showing that the glitch worked. - About redeads, you can ruin the immersion or maybe lose so much fear of them. Because if you use rolling attacks or even neutral rolls on them, you will be practically invisible to them. Never walk, just roll and you will see this incredible surprise. It works on Gibdos too but even better on Redeads sitting on the ground because of our missclicks LOL I already told you not to mix rolling with running because otherwise...😮
Finding out all these tricks on defeating enemies now makes me wish that it was more implied when the game was released. Like bombs can only defeat these enemies and arrows can only defeat these ones. It would've made playing the game feel smarter.
Myth: "if you shoot an ice arrow at the soup cauldron in gerudo fortress, it will put out the fire. It only works for a few seconds, since it will catch fire again right after. During that short period of time, you can go inside the cauldron while not taking damage. The hitbox for the cauldron is weird, so it might take a few tries to get the ice arrow to hit the right spot."
I'm not sure if anyone cares but I'm trying to make a home made OoT movie my team have been working on it for 5 years now on and off and I'm just wondering what the fans wanna see and if we haven't got it yet we are all big fans of the game and i think we covered everything sorry about the punctuation and spelling i can only see half of my screen We do have a TH-cam channel it's private for now because of copyright reasons with Nintendo
Well, the video's thumbnail makes me think you should at least show the fisherman, even if you don't have a scene in the fishing hole. Maybe just him leaning against the wall outside worrying over the receded lake or something.
The whole sticking to the path thing is likely a throwback to Zelda II on the NES, where staying on the path in the overworld sections means that enemies wont spawn (this was even mentioned in Zelda II's booklet). I remember trying this in OoT due to the Zelda II worked and thought it might work the same here too. Too bad this doesn't seem to be a thing in TP though, might need to recheck that myself actually.
You ever show off the swordless Link Shenanigans in any of these videos. There's a lot of fun things you can do if you save and quit during the Ganon fight
I remembered a few more! Big Skulltulas lose their defensive skull-shell. Or at least you can get through their defense by hitting them with a flaming deku stick, finishing off enemies quickly. It works well since the first dungeon. Moblins also don't see Link if he walks stealthily behind him or slowly. Even if he's using the Iron Boots LOL An initial mechanic poorly explained by Navi says that you can start climbing platforms a few frames faster if you simply press the A button and the directional pad forward (Normally we just press and hold the directional pad until Link decides to start climbing). It helps a lot in those agility puzzles or to escape from fights more easily. Link has known how to do parkour since the 90s. And it's a great feeling to explore the maps like this with this incredible movement LOL (You can do this right in Kokiri Forest, which is a great playground😅) Works in Majoras Mask too
Here's a fun one found during a Randomizer you can kill a gold skulltulla by dropping a pot on top of it apparently Pots made out of clay are stronger than they look
Calling the Gerudo Valley Gate Jump a _legitimate_ way to get child Link into Gerudo Fortress is a big stretch. That's like saying that getting on top of the area boundary of the Graveyard; whether with a damage boost from the crate on the ledge or with a hookshot jump, and then seamwalking to the Nocturne platform a _legitimate_ way to get into the Shadow Temple early because it's not using ISG to stand on air.
Three things regarding redeads: 1. If you walk slowly they won't aggro on you, because they think you're one of them. Though I think they'll still grab you if you get too close, not sure. 2. Jumpslashes land multiple times on them, even with a Deku Stick, and it's even possible to kill a Redead with a single Deku Stick this way since the stick doesn't get fully used up until after the jumpslash animation ends. 3. If one Redead is in its death animation, the others will slowly walk over to it. This will distract them, giving you ample time to get away... or to kill the others. Also works if it's a Gibdo that dies. Gibdos aren't as bothered by it though, as least I don't believe they are.
In regards to the dogs, it was specifically stated to be a Randomizer run, and it might have been an entrance randomizer. That could explain the issue in question; if it was an entrance randomizer, it might be the game is only programmed to remove the dogs if you travel from Castle Town to either Hyrule Field or Hyrule Castle, but the entrance randomizer breaks this dynamic, allowing the dogs to travel out of Castle Town. Obviously that would still be false in a normal game, but its an interesting idea if its a bug caused by randomizer.
There's a setting in the Ocarina of Time randomizer to let dogs follow you anywhere. There's even a quip as part of the explanation (not sure if it actually means anything or not) that says 'did you know Ganondorf is allergic?'
something to note, in the royal family's tomb, the green liquid damages you normally with the green tunic, but the red tunic has the same effect there as it does with lava and spikes. the hover boots are also a good way to deal with the spikes in shadow temple.
this was already noted - all of these hazards are coded using one function call, instead of them being different damage types. He mentions this when explaining why he's testing it, as it was mentioned by the comment he's quoting.
Not sure if anyone ever said this, but the moment you learn about the Stalchildren not attacking you if you stay on the path, was when you first enter Hyrule Field. The owl that greets you tells you. 😅
In the Zora fountain, in front of the entrance to the great fairy's fountains, there's a rock you can only lift with silver or golden gauntlets. It leads to a secret passage containing invisible skultullas and a nice panorama of the fountain
blue fire can destroy bombable walls in a grotto because of them sharing similar flags with bombs in the code. Plus if you are able to get over the loading zone of a path in lost woods and go to the middle of it and side hop over and over in the loading zone. This will cause the game to keep loading every object in the area you’re in over and over. This is mostly used in NSR speed runs to get a bunch of skulltulas without getting them from their source. But doing this too much can crash the game from the amount of objects
As the mirror shield and kokori tunic in both OoT and MM are special key items, the like likes cannot take those. However, the deku shield, hylian shield and other tunics are sold in stores, so it’s free food for them
4:18 - my best guess is because of the Water...i could definitely be wrong here, but i think that a Cucco that touches Water is basically 'removed' from the game...itll have a little animation of the Cucco suddenly leaping up, like "OOH! thats cold water!" but then they just disappear until i reload the area (as in, not 'during an Attack', this was a Calm Cucco)...so maybe the Cuccos that fly in during the Swarm behave the same way? (EDIT): 10:49 - nevermind.....
You can turn ANY item in the game into a bottle. Just try to catch a fish or a fairy and right before Link catches it, pause the game and switch the bottle with another item. It will overwrite the item. Technically you can have 24 bottles, but this will also make your game impossible to play
If you put the fishing guy's hat in the water after fishing it off his head, he gets really mad. He also won't have the hat for the rest of the game, including during the end credits.
Later in the video he shows that it doesn't work in all water (Zora's river was the example) But I'd be curious to see if it works at the bottom of the valley too and not just the top.
4:15 that is because if the chicken hits water they will despawn. There is a certain amount of cuccos hunting you but if they touch water they will fly away. They will not respawn. You can try this also with regular cuccos. If it hits water it will fly into the sky
While it isn't a glitch, the blades on the windmill in Kakariko Village aren't solid objects. If you hookshot onto the wooden stake at the right time, Link will phase right through the blade as it passes
Speaking of the cuccos, I noticed that if you let the river take you near the entrance to Zoras River and you stand on the ground, the cuccos' attack will end. So there must be some trigger related to where Link is. Because I couldn't find any connection between this and Gerudos Valley or any interrupted cucco attacks... (Because if you fight to stay in the river, the attack will continue anyway, just like in the previous video) - Also if you look up during the attacks, you can decrease the cuccos' accuracy by about 95% LOL It's pretty scary too. (This may vary slightly depending on your location, which makes it even more random and a dark game of Russian roulette😅) - Using the first person camera or projectile weapons also decreases the accuracy of the cuccos' attacks on the ground a bit. Maybe part of the mystery of the attack simply involves the camera angles and graphical limitations... wow
I'm not sure, but the Cucco attack stopping if you hide in water might have something to do with how Cuccos interact with water. Have you ever thrown a Cucco in water and then watched what happens? They sit there for a bit but then just start flying up...and up...and up.... They despawn, but the way it happens is just weird to see. Edit Okay, so if I'd watched the whole video first I would have known that water wasn't the key. Huh, what is up with that spot in Gerudo Valley?
The Saria/Fish thing dosent work with the bugs, because the bugs burrow into the ground in the time it takes you to reach the top of the staircase. But the fish flops around almost twice as long as the bugs crawl...
Getting over the Gate in Gerudo is actually used in Glitchless speedruns of the game as it's not a glitch so after Deku Tree they do the Child part of Spirit first then the rest of the child dungeons then finish spirit as adult and damage boost to shadow as it's not a glitch and finally get the bow as that is unfortunately required since light arrows. Now the trial skip is funny as you damage boost using bombs again into the loading zone. Other than getting over the gate for Gerudo the hardest part is actually damage boosting
Ocarina of Time Loves You: Gently pull up on the left side of your cartridge until the game crashes. Once your screen freezes up, input the following combination of buttons on your 64 controller: left + right + z, d-up + c-down, c-up + d-down, d-left + c-left, c-right+ d-right, a + b + start. Make sure you hold each grouping of inputs for a moment and then release them before inputting the next group. A special message will pop up informing you that you are loved.
with the hover boots in the ganon fight, its much more severe knock back than with the spike traps, you WILL slide into the ring of fire surrounding the fight every time you get hit, i used to never take off the hover boots when i got them, and ganon has severe knockback with them on
The heart piece in child gerudo is different from the one as an adult. Collecting it is a 37th heart piece. You can actually get an extra heart by doing enough glitches, there’s enough leftover pieces
Here is something to try out: Making the kid in the graveyard of Kakariko village turn a butterfly into a fairy by luring a butterfly from the cemetery to him. I’m not sure if the butterflies are there on the og or ds version tho… Good luck!
The one of the hover boots, it only seems to work with Ganon, it will toss you that much that is likely to hit the firewall after being dragged off in the floor For the dude buying from bottles, he purchases things by half the price you buy them, also fairies cannot be sold You can get a purple ruppee if you kill an enemy using light arrows You do not need all the keys to get the ice arrows on Gerudo Training Grounds Phantom Ganon has a special attack if you take too long on the fight, the attack deals 6 hearts and is super fancy As for us gaslighting you.... who knows?
I remember a rumor from my old school where if you'd bring out the pocket cuccoo in Kakariko right as you leave back into the field during a cuccoo attack it would glitch the flock into being stationary around Link when in the field. And just touching one of the many cuccoos around you would instantly kill the stalchildren. I tried this on the 3DS port but couldn't get it to work. I never played the original though so maybe it only works there?
also that room in the shadow temple with the spikes on the floor and the redeads in it, you can just wear the hover boots and run over the spikes, and as long as the hover effect is active you won't take damage
Download New World: Aeternum now and PLAY OPEN BETA through September 16.
The game launches on October 15, 2024.
Check it out! - bit.ly/3Tqxk4K
hii
i will only do this if the game gets a switch release lol
Or bust stuff u should know for views I like ur other stuff better
If you kill the Likelike after it takes your gear you can get it back as long as you don't leave the loading area.
@@Defender1876you mean other than on Nintendo 64 online? Or are you talking about the antenium game?
Dr.Wily: For some reason, Hyrule Field is haunterd.
Deku Tree Sprout: Long ago, before the King of Hyrule unified this country, there was a fierce war in our world.
Yeah I wanted to mention that because I did make a theory video about that ages ago, but decided not to because some might label it as filler
The thing about the hover boots is absolutely true. When I was younger I had severe problems beating Ganon because you would get knocked around the arena.
I was hard stuck on Ganon until I read about taking the hover boots off to circumvent being kicked around the arena, years after release
i too wore the boots all the time after getting them. they're so cool!!
I was miffed he didn't test it on ganon.
The Redead's freezing effect can actually pause you midair. It's not the easiest thing to orchestrate but it once happened to me in Dampe's race.
oh, i've had them freeze me in the middle of a Roll animation.
Thank you.
So you’re not frozen in fear, you’re literally frozen in time
Also works on backflips.
4:46 it’s not ocarina items it’s equip swap. ocarina items is a different glitch
True! Was about to comment the same thing. For those unaware, Ocarina items is a glitch preformed with a bottle that lets you use any item you can hold forever as a functioning ocarina.
Lore point: thats why the running man wants the bunny mask. Cause he wants to also run at night.
Which he does after you give him the mask
I don't know if I am misremembering this but is the timer not also attahed to the scale you have? The gold scale gives you a longer timer
@@Simsy101 That is a good question, I don't know the answer to that but I'll give it a try later and find out.
Minor correction. The glitch to equip items as the other age is not called ocarina items. It's called equip swap.
Ocarina items is a glitch which allows most items to be used as an ocarina.
Yeah messed that up
If you use the hover boots on spikes, you can walk over the invisible spikes!
Fire Temple Fun Facts
-The Megaton Hammer 🔨 isn't required anywhere outside of the Fire Temple (and that one puzzle in GTG (Optional)) until Ganondorf's Castle.
(you need to longshot for a few parts of that Gerudo Training area)
i was disappointed, nothing unusual happened.
Doing fire temple first makes so many people squirmmmm
@@Birdsflight44 it is very doable without needing glitches, the bow is only required for one of the useless items (map/compass)
i swear its so weird when you watch these vids and you go "OH MY GOD YEAH!!! HOW DID I FORGET!?" and the memories come flushing back and you gotta pause the vid cause youre stuck thinking back to your childhood days
2:58 The Iron Boots are also great for getting through the area with the giant wind fans in the Shadow Temple.
Not a myth but an intended way to solve the puzzle.
Also you can use Ice Arrows to freeze those metal sliding things.
he did that in the last video, didn't he? I was amazed you can do that.
@@KairuHakubi prolly why it was so stuck in my head... That weapon is wicked fun
@@drygnfyre Fire arrows on Volvagia?
This is the first time ever hearing that, would also never thought about it since it looks immune to fire
@@cecillewolters1995 fire arrows, as in “use arrows.”
Yeah a LOT was changed in that area
The Bunny Hood one was something I had known about for a long time. I guess the undead are afraid of rabbits.
you can also swim and roll around in the water with the fisherman's hat and lose it and he'll be upset. I forget if there's other interactions or a penalty but I remember once messing around and losing his hat in the water and he said something special.
I don't know how well known that is, but if you go to the end of the back alley in castle town right after the cutscene where you get the ocarina of time, you'll see a dying guard who you can talk to.
it was well known enough that it was in one of the strategy guides when the game released.
Could you use the bombchuu as a distraction for the cursed bubbles and send them running after it?

Beating the fire temple without the fire tunic is another story. But it is possible and a great challenge.
If you touch one of the dogs in Castletown and use one of the warp songs, it will follow you to the area you warp to. Not really useful, but it is interesting.
The trick at 4:45 is called equip swap not ocarina items
Yeah my bad, I saw multiple different names for it
Dude, at 7:04 the gossip stone says the time in-game was 16:53 and it was THIS EXACT TIME for me irl! That's so creepy...
Yea, the gossip stones tell /your/ current time.
I think the reason the bugs didn't show up is because they dig into the ground before you reach the loading zone for the cutscene. The fish continue to flop around for a long time and are close enough that it doesn't despawn when you hit the loading zone. I'm not very technical but this is the best reason i could think of.
I commented this on an older Majora's Mask video, but I'm hoping you'll be able to see it here easier:
For the Honey and Darling shop, not only can you shoot them, but if you do it enough they will kick you out. Found this one out the hard way
This is also true with Koume during the mini-game during the post-dungeon boat cruise.
Love how receptive you are with your audience
I do my best! In general I don't do much with socials outside of yt so I try to be super active here
2:07 - Actually he also appears in Kakariko Village in the adult timeline, just climb the stairs near the small house that functions as an Inn and he'll be sitting beside some crates!
The man in Kakariko who sells you the bottle in A Link To The Past will also buy a fish from you for 100 Rupees
And I thought I was bad at making comments concise. Might I recommend... Paragraphs? 🤔

As far as I know the only place I've ever done this glitch is at Lon Lon Ranch (whether it works in other locations I cannot remember)
In order to do the glitch I pulled out the hook shot (longshot is recommended) and went into 3rd person aiming where you see link on screen.
Awesome Video Bro!
Of course one bomb wouldn't kill a Blue Bubble. They have the same damage value as the Master Sword and the Bow, and it takes two hits with those to kill them.
19:48 - "I'd try to see how they react to a Bombchu!"
It's really funny and a better alternative than deku nuts or bombs sometimes. I hope he records it😊
bombchus and blue bubble going to the wall and climbing up... "I believe i can fly"🤭
I swear the Cucco ones are just an ongoing saga at this point lol
Also the Like-Like one, iirc the trigger for losing your gear is when it spits you out. As long as you do it before then it’ll work
Yeah me and the cuccos have one INTENSE rivalry at this point, also second point, true
15:45 That is somebody's Stalchild, so be kind.
NEVER
I bet you the Fish appearing in Saria's lap has something to do with how the fish is used in the Jabu Jabu cutscene.
When he starts to split into 3 creatures, position yourself in the center of them and try to repeat the quick spin attack a few times and he will drop more loot, enough to fill his previously empty magic bar!
its going on the SPECIAL LIST! Also thank you so much for the donation, the support helps the channel loads!
The reason why the fish cutscene works and the bug one doesn't is because the insects burrow underground too quickly and don't burrow they just flop.
This means that you can also enter some places as child Link too. ;)
Sometimes tho dark link can learn to parry your hammer with his sword
Not many content creators give their audience credit for their contributions. I think that's why this series resonates with me so much.
Well I do my best to make it fun, fair, and engaging, I am also super active in the comments
@@drwily - Your best is very effective. Your work is appreciated.
(but then again, why am i so concerned about "saving" my Rupees? there are SO MANY ways to quickly fill even the Giant 500-Rupee Wallet, that my Wallet Number always showed the green "full-capacity" digits)
here's one for you to try:
the poisonous liquid in the Royal Family's tomb won't damage you as much if you wear the Goron Tunic.
After Navi says her description of the target, your projectile shot will be intangible for a few frames and will hit the target a little behind where the projectile reaches😮
(If you remembered Tobi from Naruto you weren't the only one lol )
oehhhh sick its going on the SPECIAL LIST, thank you so much for the donation, supporting the channel in such a way helps a lot!
(yes, Lens and Ice Arrows in Bongo Bongo will work!)
The magic bar will stop blinking showing that the glitch worked.
If you try fishing with the hat, it will eventually loosen and sink. At that point the shopkeeper will angrily demand a reparation fee.
I'm not sure if anyone cares but I'm trying to make a home made OoT movie my team have been working on it for 5 years now on and off and I'm just wondering what the fans wanna see and if we haven't got it yet we are all big fans of the game and i think we covered everything sorry about the punctuation and spelling i can only see half of my screen
We do have a TH-cam channel it's private for now because of copyright reasons with Nintendo
Ganondorf's backstory 👌 and how Link's parents had the Deku Tree adopt him n all that
100% interested!
@@tsubokikennedy5471 we have a bit of Ganondorf/Ganon but we didn't think of the deku tree lore thank you
@@ZackeryGee thank you we are trying to get it right then release it but Nintendo is being Nintendo
Even if he's using the Iron Boots LOL
An initial mechanic poorly explained by Navi says that you can start climbing platforms a few frames faster if you simply press the A button and the directional pad forward
(Normally we just press and hold the directional pad until Link decides to start climbing). It helps a lot in those agility puzzles or to escape from fights more easily.
Link has known how to do parkour since the 90s. And it's a great feeling to explore the maps like this with this incredible movement LOL
(You can do this right in Kokiri Forest, which is a great playground😅)
Works in Majoras Mask too
Hey!! Thanks for including my comment, amazing content. Great job and keep it up! 🎉🎉
no problem! thank you for suggesting it ;) also will do!
Here's a fun one found during a Randomizer
you can kill a gold skulltulla by dropping a pot on top of it
apparently Pots made out of clay are stronger than they look
Calling the Gerudo Valley Gate Jump a _legitimate_ way to get child Link into Gerudo Fortress is a big stretch. That's like saying that getting on top of the area boundary of the Graveyard; whether with a damage boost from the crate on the ledge or with a hookshot jump, and then seamwalking to the Nocturne platform a _legitimate_ way to get into the Shadow Temple early because it's not using ISG to stand on air.
Three things regarding redeads:
Gibdos don't react to ReDead/Gibdo corpses. Not sure if that changes if you burn the bandages and reveal the ReDead underneath.
You can only do that one in Majora's mask @@devonm042690
If there are a group of redeads and you kill one, they will all stop what they’re doing to mourn their fallen friend.
11:22 - Look, Ma! I’m on TV! 😂
4:18 my guess is the water. It probably overwrites their behavior to "fly out of water"
I know if you non-stop kill Stalchildren they get bigger and bigger; but the amount of night time you have limits you to how far you can go with it.
(Because if you fight to stay in the river, the attack will continue anyway, just like in the previous video)
- Also if you look up during the attacks, you can decrease the cuccos' accuracy by about 95% LOL It's pretty scary too.
(This may vary slightly depending on your location, which makes it even more random and a dark game of Russian roulette😅)
- Using the first person camera or projectile weapons also decreases the accuracy of the cuccos' attacks on the ground a bit.
The salesman that buys fish may offer more money if you sell to him in kakariko as an adult
Other than getting over the gate for Gerudo the hardest part is actually damage boosting
i swear that the day/night cycle goes faster if you look at the sun/moon. i did it all the time before i got the sun's song in the 3ds version
Ocarina of Time Loves You: Gently pull up on the left side of your cartridge until the game crashes. @@Animebryan2 I'm hoping the good doctor will provide the proof.
with the hover boots in the ganon fight, its much more severe knock back than with the spike traps, you WILL slide into the ring of fire surrounding the fight every time you get hit, i used to never take off the hover boots when i got them, and ganon has severe knockback with them on
The heart piece in child gerudo is different from the one as an adult. Collecting it is a 37th heart piece. You can actually get an extra heart by doing enough glitches, there’s enough leftover pieces
Here is something to try out:
Making the kid in the graveyard of Kakariko village turn a butterfly into a fairy by luring a butterfly from the cemetery to him.
I’m not sure if the butterflies are there on the og or ds version tho…
Good luck!
oehhhh interesting, screenshotting this
The one of the hover boots, it only seems to work with Ganon, it will toss you that much that is likely to hit the firewall after being dragged off in the floor
For the dude buying from bottles, he purchases things by half the price you buy them, also fairies cannot be sold
You can get a purple ruppee if you kill an enemy using light arrows
You do not need all the keys to get the ice arrows on Gerudo Training Grounds
Phantom Ganon has a special attack if you take too long on the fight, the attack deals 6 hearts and is super fancy
As for us gaslighting you....
