Learn how to use the AGM-65F Maverick with both the inbuilt IR seeker head or in conjunction with the targeting pod on the F/A-18C Hornet.

Why are you the only one who showed the controls you neeed for that. The otheres i watched asumed that i have the warthog hotas and everything on the same button already. Thanks for the video i think i know now what to do when using agm's. Only used the aa missiles and hydra missiles.

I just ordered the warthog throttle slew upgrade from the forum guy I think it’s Delta Simulation Electronics. I heard it’s a great improvement and great reviews. Great video 👍🏻
I vital piece of info missing here that took me a while is checking the FLIR pod is switched on and armed. It's those switches by your right elbow that we caught a brief moment of here between the description of using the mav seeker and FLIR pod.
Loving this Torni, but something I just can't figure out from the vid - at @8:53 how do you zoom in so much? I can't seem to find the binding/control.
Does this work equally well with both of the F-18’s targeting pods? Or just with the one you used for this video? Trying it with the ATFLIR pod, manage to get the first maverick off but subsequent ones don’t seem to slew to targets designated in ATFLIR???
I wish they give f18 brimstone missiles. Can carry at least 3 in one pod.
TDC Depress doesn't seem to do what yours does anymore. I have to Sensor Select direction of MFD twice to tgt.

What do you have your axis tuning set up for the slew button/mouse? I get a little drifting when I try to nudge it, and yours seems pretty solid.
Deadzone 3, Sat X 100, Sat Y 65, Curvature 30 for Horizontal, Same for vertical except i have inverted the axis in the vertical axis commands for TDC

Please help me. What mode should I use with ATFLIR, if doing same maverick IR. Sometimes it locks, sometimes maverick flies to waypoint I first designated the ATFLIR to look, like in here with LITENING, before searching the target itself. Same thing with autotrack. Maverick flies to the designated point, but sometimes, dunno why it tracks with moving target. I think I´m doing something in different order? But in general. If I want the maverick to lock to something not moving, should i use scene mode or what? There really is kinda ZERO tutorials with maverick IR wand ATFLIR. There is something really strange with it, or I just dunno how to use it. Sometimes it just seems that maverick leaves the tracking to some point before i choose the target itself. When coming near the target as missile flies, when it does not hit the triangle of maverick drifts a littlebit from the point that I have first fired it / where the target pod is looking.
II get the target pod follow the target and there is no problem using that, but seems like sometimes the maverick is trying to lock itself on some different point / its not talking correctly with atlfir. From forums many ppl have asked this also, but not really straight answer. How do I lock maverick IR with ATLFIR And after that, how do i lock it in moving target that tgtpod is tracking. It seems that tgt pod is tracking but not locking etc...? With litening it works like you showed here.
Bro what a good bomb to take down ZU targets. They always shoot green and red lasers at me.
Mk 82 dumb bomb will take them out easily mate, dive down and drop it before you even get within there weapons range and climb back up to safe altitude again

You can use anything you want at the end of the day, just the risk you put yourself in from using certain weapons will vary 👌🏻
Hey bro, how come my plane always tilt one side so much after launching a bomb. The trim left or right feels like it doesn't work well compared to the su25t?
Cuz your dropping a massive chunk of weight off your aircraft when you drop a bomb and the aircraft needs to be trimmed out to counter it. The trim is different in every aircraft, some trim really aggressively and others need a lot of trim put in to even start to make a difference to the aircrafts straight and level state

I followed all of the procedures, then I hold the button down to slew the ir thingy majig and it wont move, it shows diamond too, this is without the tpod
Not sure mate, only thing I can think of is check your settings on main menu for enable/disable realistic TDC slew. If it’s enabled you have press and hold TDC depress whilst using TDC up down left right etc to slew the maverick
WHT and BLK is only used to attempt lock on HOT or COLD objects

Will these track moving targets?
they sure will my mate, as long as the target doesn't make the maverick lose line of sight it will track a moving vehicle or ship :D

I am not able to uncage
I had to turn the Realistic TDC Slew off, it just wouldn't work with my Warthog Throttle. I'd get a small movement for a fraction of a second, and it would stop, like the TDC Slew Depress button wasn't being held properly, but as far as I can tell looking at hardware output it can be held and slewed no problem.
With Realistic off I can slew it great, but without pushing it in. I'm going to have to just live with it, I guess.
A year later, and one third-party replacement for the slew control, it works great with ground radar/realistic tdc slew. ;)
wtf is sensor select left?
Sensor select left, right, forward and aft let you choose which MFD is the sensor that your TDC will control. Ie if your radar is on the right MFD and your Mav seeker head is on the left you can switch between controlling the radar or mav seeker head by pressing sensor select left or right.
You can tell which screen is the selected one as it will put a small diamond in the top right of the MFD. 👌🏻

All of y’all’s videos show pre designated targets. What about a situation where you are unaware of target locations? You can’t use the seeker head to scan.
You can use the seeker head to scan but a TPOD would be a better help in that situation. If you can get a visual on a missile launch or AAA and manoeuvre your aircraft to head towards it you can use the mav seeker head to find it for sure 👌🏻 Using the targeting pod to locate a ground target would be easier though as the image is much clearer and you have better zoom capabilities

@@SpearHead1011 if you have a mav only just place the mav triangle in the hud on the area where you saw they launch or AAA and slew from there. If you’ve got a TPOD put it in VVSLV mode and place your velocity vector on the area you saw the threat and press tdc depress with the TPOD as your sensor of interest. That will ground stabilise the TPOD to the spot you want to search for the ground threats in either CCD or FLIR mode on the TPOD 👍🏻
Im done fuckin with these damn MavFs on the Hornet.... shit doesnt work on my Hornet. never had a problem with them before. gotta be a bug.

Well I haven’t did any AG stuff since the last OB update so yesterday I decided to practice blowing some shit up with the Hornet and Mavs. I usually go to GazAces TPOD and Mav moving target mission to practice. I noticed that when I get a lock on the flir then go to MavF and uncage that the Mav doesn’t lock the moving target. So sometimes I will cage and uncage a couple of times then it will lock and ready to rifle but to Mav is always crossed out. Went to another mission in the F18 list at the bottom MavF mission and when I get the wp1 the MavF doesn’t lock target and also can’t slew. It’s just frustrating because I never had a prob with the MavFs. The Mav Es no prob on getting a moving target lock and then uncaging on the left ddi it immediately locks and rifle away.
I was think maybe I need to reload GazAces mission and try again.
I really need to learn how to create a moving target mission to practice the only one I have is GazAces which is my fav go too Mav practice mission. Anywho thx for your concern and I’m really itching to get the A10c cause I see your doing tutorials on it. It looks awesome and man I can’t wait for the big update on the 4th. Take care man 👍🏻
