I have both Kiehls original musk and the body shop white musk for men. From my (female) perspective, original musk is more nuanced, has depth but wears close to the skin, good for day or night, and it’s my most repeated purchase. I recently bought The Body Shop musk- it’s fresher, sparky (more obvious, post-spray) but also more fleeting...a fast burner. My preference is still kiehls Original Musk for its complexity. Would be interested to know your thoughts on Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc. Btw, The Body Shop Musk for women is nice but it’s more of a sweet white floral musk. My current musky purchase is All Saints Metal Wave- it’s a unisex fragrance and I love it.
One of my favorite Cologne Oils is Prada Luna Rosa Black , it often said too be a combination of Midnight in Paris and Bvlgari Black . Yes Prada Black is a Awesome scent

In Germany not easy to find Kiehl's musk it seems, but just saw Alyssa Ashley's on Amazon here indeed for €18.55, will blind-buy it. Although have not smelled Kiehl's yet, I do like Body Shop White Musk a lot. Musk intrigues me because first attempt to smell the Body Shop one at the store, I was completely anosmic, could not smell absolutely anything (at least not on top of the cloud of smell in the store itself.) Second try a few days later I could catch a bit of it and liked it enough to buy it. Since then I can smell it easily and like it a lot. Jovan Musk though, not for me, at least not yet. It's one I can smell easily, it's a fragrance I think I smelled years and years ago, but it never smelled either masculine or feminine to me, more just like some baby powder, but quite too intense smelling, and not one that I find pleasant. I smell the current formulation (blind bought it after getting the Body Shop one) and same thing still: not pleasant or appealing to my nose, at least not yet, neither opening nor drydown. If I tried to better describe it, I'd say still smells (to me) like some quite too intense baby powder, but with some hints of hairspray thrown in.
If you wore Alyssa Ashley musk back in the 70s people knew you were one of the cool kids. Her coco vanilla, patchouli and amber Gris are great too though harder to come by.
Kiehl’s Musk layered with their Patchouli oil neutralizes the skunky smell of the opening. White Musk men’s smelled like isopropyl alcohol for me. I preferred the women’s, sweet, warm, and blends well with the natural saltiness of my skin.
I've been loving white musk recently, now the rest of these are on my radar. Musk in general I've been craving more and more , and I think I'll have to break out my marlou scents because they are just divine in terms of musk 🍀

I had Khiel's Original Musk, bought it from their stores. Not a fan of the ylang-ylang in here as it's just a bit too think and cloying to my nose. The dry down is nice but each spray is sticky on my skin. Had and tried the Bodyshop White Musk for Men before when I was in my 20s. Nice but you're right longevity is an issue. Currently have Bodyshop's Black Musk EDP, I like it, I can't say its musk as in the original sense, I.e. like those from animals but its musky in that deep jungle sense where the air is dense, you smell dark smells etc etc. Targeted at ladies but I think a guy can pull it off if he layers it with something else. I pair it with Paco Rabanne's Pour Homme and its was great. Got compliments from a discounted shop owner. Not sure if it classify as a musk fragrance, but Geo F Trupmter's Eucris EDT has a very elegant vibe to it. The black currants notes is juicy and it dries down to a very distinguish sandalwood, oakmoss and musk. Not a fan of the splash bottle nozzle they are using though. Hope you check it out.

I don't think they have discontinued it actually. I think there are just logistical/supply issues. A sales assistant told me she expects a delivery next week here in Ireland 🤞
I am enjoying scent of a woman! Enjoyed your review on it! My best smell and signature scent that doesn’t give me a headache but that I have gotten compliments and most say they know when I come to work in a good way is Chanel Mademoisell eau parfume!, I know it is basic but really plays well with my chemistry and last at least 12 hours!! I love when my husband wears sauvage by Dior but it doesn’t last very long on him but I have smelled it last longer on others!!
White musk has been discontinued from the body shop 😢😢😢 they replaced it with a new unisex fragrance called blue musk with smells similar but not the same and also blue musk zesty which is super citrus heavy with a hint of musk

I have read that we can make the weak perfumes much last longer by the same way as wine and whiskey.. put it inside a black plastic bag.. then burns in the wheat bird or the rice straw inside a plastic container for one month ..far from light .. I blind bought Kiehl's musk figuring it would be a nice clean soapy musk that I typically like. Wow, was I wrong! I'm a 1 spray guy. People need to get close to me to pick up on my scent. Not with Kiehl's musk. One spray fills a room. Some of the comments I got were: Baby diapers, grandma, and Chanel No.5. It's since been demoted to bathroom freshener.

My favorite musk fragrance is a cheapy from Royall Fragrances called Royall Muske. Very satisfying fragrance.
l love body shops white musk (for men and women) and most of the flankers. Cotys musks are great too, and only 8$! Kiehls is amazing!
I get more compliments on Kiehls than any other fragrance in my entire collection - bar none. (and I have a large and expensive collection!)

U ever try Royal Copenhagen Musk?? It’s good. A nice barbershop musk. I’m not sure about longevity though but I really like it.
The carnation note in the Jovan Musk is straight up sexy af. One of the most VFM cheapies to ever exist!

Swiss Arabian Black Musk is gorgeous and layers great with vanilla frags. I'm wearing it today layered with TF Plum Japonais - deadly!

Tabac Original EDT - it's not really a cozy musk, similar to monsieur musk, but more citrusy and less smooth

White musk was highly reformulated last year in June- July. It was one of my favourites
This explains why it was pretty weak when smelled it. I was not impressed.
Agree it smells very weak now. I loved the White musk oil version as an every day scent but now using the new version and I am highly disappointed...
