However, during this phase of the fight, Safi’jiiva begins exclusively targeting 1 player. He ignores the rest of the team and does everything in his power to kill 1 targeted teammate. The targeted teammate gets the saturated version of the theme so long as Safi is targeting them.

Im a MHW fan and i loved how the devs makes the music an integral part of the fight filling us with emotions while we try to win. With safi the fight is intense from the beggining as show in the first phase but then in second phase we discover safi have a Ultimate attack that instantly wipe the party unless you protect yourself behind some boulders, so here the fight intensifies as you have to be aware of your positioning and start running when he is about to do it. Then the 3rs phase you are still strugling but more close to victory and the music encourage you to keep going! I really loved this fighg and theme
The pulse in the "mid-section" (it's a medley after all) is actually Safi's heart - the hunter that draws his "ire" during the fight hears it above everything else as well.
Safi'jiva is a legendary "Red Dragon", classified as a Dangerous First Class Monster, who stand head and shoulders above every other monster. They are apocalyptic in nature. Safi in particular is a massive creature that can absorb living energy from it's environment for not only healing his body but for bolstering his attacks. He's so powerful that he's considered a "Siege" hunt, where multiple people up to 16 get into a lobby together and take turns dealing as much damage as possible, being so insanely powerful that it's almost impossible to kill it in a single hunt, but it has been done.
It's not classified as a Dangerous First Class. There in lore rumors of it possibly being one, but there's not any research because lore wise, only 1 has been discovered. Researchers think it has the potential to rival black dragons, but there's zero confirmation.

Something cool that monster hunter does with its ost is use previous motifs from other songs that are embedded into your mimd such as proof of a hero or the main theme for that particular mh game. They use bits of those songs in huge important hunts such as safi jiiva. 10:23 has a bit of proof of a hero which all hunters know by heart.

Dude, seriously great breakdown and reaction. Safi was such a hype when it was announced due to the player only fighting the juvenile form in the base game called Xeno'Jiiva. The series has a lot of outstanding music to the point Capcom arranges orchestra concert annually just for MH. My top suggestions would be 1. Shara Ishvalda (a LOT to unpack here with the use of balinese instruments and eastern themes) 2. Allmother Narwa (surge of emotion and epicness) 3. Alatreon (chaos and unstability)

That sub-bass part is particular to one moment in particular. This colossal, crimson dragon the size of a building has just locked eyes on you. YOU. Amongst all the other hunters, among even other GODS, he has no eyes for any other except YOU. And the Crimson Emperor has nothing but vitriol for your continued existence. Amongst countless godly monsters you’ve faced to this point, your hunter has rarely if ever felt the primal fear of BEING hunted. At least, not until THAT moment. And all your poor hunter can do is run. Hide. Pray. They can barely think straight through their heartbeat trying to claw its way out of their chest. Not that you don’t have control, of course. It’s just that hard to differentiate the horror your character is feeling with your own.

NAHHH HE DID IT Edit- you did get the amount of phases in the fight right, that being 3, but I couldn’t actually tell you the difference between phase 1 and 2 in the track, if there even is one. That’s because what you named the second phase is actually the variation you hear when the monster is targeting you, which is a big mechanic of this fight. There are a few other in-game related things that happen in the track, for example when it goes silent before the third phase, it’s dropping a nuke that you have to hide behind rocks to survive (which can happen at any point after phase 1, not just before 3). Overall it’s really cool what they did tying the fight to the music 👍👍 I recommend looking at some other MH tracks too, so far you’ve only done the 2 raid bosses that everyone tunes out because of how much you have to grind them
I would recommend you to listen to the Monster Hunter Iceborn Fatalis theme. It’s one of the most iconic theme from the series since it has many thinks in common from the first game back on the ps2

For me not much compares to Worlds Bazel theme, the three renditions of velkhana's theme, nergi and safijiiva, and the crazy second phase music of raging brachy.

Day 92 of requesting House of Sacred Remains from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Beautifully atmospheric track and one of my fave's from video games in general. It'd be awesome to hear what you think of it. It's the theme of a level set starting from a cathedral and ending in the crypts through lots of library areas, it's not a particularly significant or infamous level at all but I think the track really reflects the hallowed grounds housing sacred relics beautifully. The 4 minute upload from the Castlevania Sound Team is the one to listen to.

The second phase theme only plays for the hunter Safi'Jiiva hard focuses on, making it much more tense. Monster Hunter monsters usually never hard focus hunters.
It's pretty good, But again, It's nothing special for me. As for lyrics, I don't know if has any. what a shame. It would have made the song much better in my opinion. But the drums do remind me of decisive battle 2 from Octopath Traveler, Which is pretty cool.
It does in fact have lyrics, but most of them are in Wyverian. In the official version, it was learned that one of the common recurring phrases chanted in the song translates to "The king of all things, the perfect being," which of course is a descriptor of the monster himself, having been born as the antithesis to the closest monster the series has to a villain. Additionally, a large portion of the theme plays dynamically during the fight with Safi'jiiva, which is what makes it so memorable for many players.

Monster Hunter Rise is more Japanese based and it's music reflects that. Most themes in that game also have lyrics, which is different compared to what is normally just some themes having lyrics. The monsters with Rock themes that come to mind are Zinogre and Astalos from the main series. There are a couple different versions of those themes that are from different games. Disufiroa's theme also has some rock elements which is from the spinoff mmo game Monster Hunter Frontier

@@gojigiante A bit too repetitive for me, and i never was a big fan of proof of a hero to begin with, so this version is kind of the one i like the least. For the targeted version, i don't like at all the fact that the two melodies are played at the same time, they just don't fit with each other, just the new part alone would have been better. There are a lot of musics in the game that are better. Of all the "big unique monster theme", it's the weakest one, along Xeno and Zorah ( of course it's still my opinion )
for me safis and fatalis' themes are on par. one is extremely heroic, yet disturbing and tense (especially the second phase) and the other is all about nostalgia. both aspects of those themes i extremely like. both are masterpieces, imo.

Personally, i like Taikun phase 3 and Meraginasu "targeted" theme better, but it's among the best for sure

Oh I know exactly what the last phase is, its basicly the Hunter or Humanity as a whole fighting back, its no longer just Safi, its a excange, a fight for Dominance. At least in some Parts.

Yo, this is a compilation, with them trying to insert the in-game noise, hence the weird noise 6ish mins in.

Day 92 of requesting House of Sacred Remains from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Beautifully atmospheric track and one of my fave's from video games in general. It'd be awesome to hear what you think of it.
It's the theme of a level set starting from a cathedral and ending in the crypts through lots of library areas, it's not a particularly significant or infamous level at all but I think the track really reflects the hallowed grounds housing sacred relics beautifully.

The second phase theme only plays for the hunter Safi'Jiiva hard focuses on, making it much more tense. Monster Hunter monsters usually never hard focus hunters.
afaik, there's only three monsters that do a focus, being, Safi, Behemoth and Meraginasu.

As for lyrics, I don't know if has any. what a shame. It would have made the song much better in my opinion. But the drums do remind me of decisive battle 2 from Octopath Traveler, Which is pretty cool.
It does in fact have lyrics, but most of them are in Wyverian. In the official version, it was learned that one of the common recurring phrases chanted in the song translates to "The king of all things, the perfect being," which of course is a descriptor of the monster himself, having been born as the antithesis to the closest monster the series has to a villain. Additionally, a large portion of the theme plays dynamically during the fight with Safi'jiiva, which is what makes it so memorable for many players.

@@עידומחלוף-ר4ח The 2 most recent Monster Hunter games have had a general theme to the OST in the games. Monster Hunter World went with a more Orchestral approach, going with it's grandiose setting. Monster Hunter Rise is more Japanese based and it's music reflects that. Most themes in that game also have lyrics, which is different compared to what is normally just some themes having lyrics. The monsters with Rock themes that come to mind are Zinogre and Astalos from the main series. There are a couple different versions of those themes that are from different games. Disufiroa's theme also has some rock elements which is from the spinoff mmo game Monster Hunter Frontier

Hoo, why is it always Safi? I mean, it's not a bad theme, but there's so much better. I've a hard time understanding why people like it this much

@@gojigiante A bit too repetitive for me, and i never was a big fan of proof of a hero to begin with, so this version is kind of the one i like the least. For the targeted version, i don't like at all the fact that the two melodies are played at the same time, they just don't fit with each other, just the new part alone would have been better. There are a lot of musics in the game that are better. Of all the "big unique monster theme", it's the weakest one, along Xeno and Zorah
( of course it's still my opinion )
for me safis and fatalis' themes are on par. one is extremely heroic, yet disturbing and tense (especially the second phase) and the other is all about nostalgia. both aspects of those themes i extremely like. both are masterpieces, imo.
