@officialwarhammer
ive been wanting these effects for awhile now. i subbed within 30 seconds of seeing the results before you even explained how. holy shit man. niiiiice work.
Thanks so much Mann really means A lot
Excellent video! Another cool technique is Tamiya Putty thinned with plastic cement glue and applied stipple. Gives a lot of texture variety
Will have to give that ago! Thanks for the tip
I think I literally spent the whole video waiting for you to throw some kind of blue paint over this weathering "under painting" step. That being said that is my favorite sort of look for Deathgaurd with just an ultra weathered version of their pre-heresy scheme.
Thanks so much! If u check out my ultramarines video that’s the blue I use x
The grimdark compendium is my jam and now I’ve found the bread and together you make a wholesome sandwich of grim darkness knowledge lol chuffed to bits I’ve found another source of quality knowledge
Thanks man!!! Really really means a lot!!! I’m glad you can get something from us both!! He truly is a master
I got into warhammer last year after seeing some grimdark photos. Your videos have shown me how/given me confidence to try this style finally!
You will love it dude!! Welcome to the grim
Fantastic job. Great, short little tutorial. Thanks for sharing the techniques!
Your welcome ✌🏼
That's brilliant, just shows what you can do with a few paints and a bit of practice.
That would look great a vehicle..
Look forward to the next video !!
Thanks so much!!! Yes love painting tanks! Thanks so much for the kind words
Solid, solid techniques! Awesome result.
Thanks so much man!
Love the results. Going to try to apply to a large kit see how it works. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much! And yes works great on larger minis
Really enjoyed the video thanks, love the idea of creating your own detail on flat panels!
Glad you liked it!
That was awesome dude. Thanks for taking the time to share those techniques.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic video mate, just what i need for my space miner Stargrave crew! You've convinced me to take the plunge into enamels
Great stuff man!!! Glad u enjoyed! Hope you have fun with them!!
Great video, easy to follow along, I’ve always wanted to weather some
Of my models but been too afraid to do it. I need to begin a model with this style in mind at the start.
Thanks man! And never be scared. The beauty is you cannot go wrong. Too much is fine and too little is fine also haha.
Great video! Will definitely try this
Hope you like it!
Yes! Another video 🎉 Keep em coming brother
Cheers man!! Thanks so much!
awesome video mate! Helps with the anxiety with grimdarking your minis!
Glad you find help In this! Thanks so much! X
ah as a fellow nailbiter, really nice job. i don't think that prep work is covered all too much in your classic "how to paint like a pro"-videos. this one did it really well.
Awww man! Thanks so much!!
Stop doing it you dirtbags
Really helpful, great work
Thanks so much!
my god that is absolutely fantastic...great video tutorial I am most def using this on my marine army...
Thanks man! Glad to be a help x
Really amazing.
Thanks!!! Really means a lot
this is an incredible work, i will take big inspiration of it for some minis, curious to see the jobs you done on space marines
Thanks man! And you can see them on my instagram 😊😊😊 @theferalpainter

I've wanted to try grim dark blood angels for a while
Thanks so much! I did a video on those! Hope u find it helpful x
God damn. That’s awesome. Not only subbed but forwarded to my fellow nerds
Awesome video!

I can only echo what others have said. Really great work man, instant sub from me.
I reckon you’ll go far with this channel!
Welcome aboard! And thanks so so much for the amazing kind words
Awesome work, great tutorial. Would it be possible for you to make a list of stuff like paints and addons of what you used ?
First video of yours that I’ve seen and I’m now subscribed! I assume from the techniques you’re presenting that like myself you’ve come from a background of building realistic WW2 scale armour kits. Very nice work 👍
Thanks man. And I’ll be honest I’ve never tried the ww2 stuff. Althou I did learn a lot of the techniques from there 😊
Thanks for coming along!
Nice work man, subbed
Thanks so much!! Welcome
Aboard
this is next level creative. i love it
Thanks so much! Means a lot
Holy crap mate you can paint! They look realistic
Thanks so much man!!
I once watched a model builder make mud with a mix of fine sand and paint. It looked great.
Thanks and that sounds great!

Go for it! Hope u have fun!!! 😊 thanks again
i needed this. THx m8
Your welcome dude!! Glad u enjoyed!
I had always tried to stay away from Enamel paint for my miniatures just for ease of cleanup, but I think this video convinced me that I need to give them a try! Definitely going to order some soon!
Yea I much prefer enamels to oils x if u need any help feel free to reach out. X
Well done man. Looks great, il have to try crackle paint sometime.
Go for it! You will love it
Amazing!!!!!!!!! 😲. 🏅👍. Thank you.
Thanks so much!
Awesome,......realy looks good.
I will give it a try on my chaos chariot.
Hope you enjoy and thanks again
Dude that ultramarine armor looks amazing, wow will definitely look at using crackle paint
Thanks so much brother!!
Looks so awesome. Makes me want to make a realistic grimy tau suit!
That would be epic! Always wanted to try them.
Grim dark compendium has a very good Tau tutorial using enamels.
@@monamiferdinand really, I haven't heard of them. I'll check em out thanks!
Fantastic. Liked and subscribed.

That's really nice. Will definitely use some of that on my death guard
Thanks so much dude!
I just needed the first 29 seconds of this video to give it a like!!! 👍🏼
Awww man!! Thanks so much ma man!!
Just discovered you. Superb look - and the blue bits in the stills are tremendous. All best.
Thanks so much brother!! Thanks so much
@@TheFeralPainter No problem. Send money.
@@TheFeralPainterI'm in Nottingham now, but I sprang from Huddersfield. That near your patch? (No need to give a grid reference in case cyberscrotes are about.)
I’m Doncaster man ✌🏼✌🏼
@@TheFeralPainter Ah!
This is an awesome video 👍🏻 I've tried mix of crackle paint and typhus corrosion before on the vehicle, and I love it. My mistake was to apply this after priming, but now I know to do it before. Can streaking grime be replaced with something like rust streaks from AK?
Absolutely man!! Any enamel coulor would work 😊😊😊
Awesome video! Really what i need for my War Dogs 🤩 what would you recommend for varnish? Is it needed in between steps or just at the end (if at all)?
Can do it at end of it all I use Matt. Or satin
Awesome video! So it’s ok to apply the crackle paint straight onto the model before priming?
Absolutely man!! 😊 thanks for the comment!
Add liquin or Japan dryer to your oil paint and it’ll be dry the next day
awesome awesome stuff this. if I wanted to add decals, when would I add them and would I seal em first before taking the other steps? thanks again for an awesome video
Yes you can! I recommend sealing them in
@@TheFeralPainter Thank you so much man, love your content!
Mighty fine paintwork for a hummie
Cheers!
WAAAAGH!
This is brilliant! If i wanted to do some standard sponge chipping, would you reccomend doing it before or after the streaking grime?
Either works great! Maybe a little of both. Looks more real ☺️ can just go over odd ones after to make them stand out or look newer/fresh
@TheFeralPainter thanks for the swift response! I'll do chipping before grime then touch it up as needed after. 👍
Awsome video as always. BUT PLEASE - share with us a link to that 'wow-stick'! : )
Uolor Electric Engraving Tool Kit,
COOOOOOOL
Thanks man
Looking forward into delving into Grimdark with what you have shown! On a side topic, what video editing did you use at the beginning to showcase the pictures?
I just use Final Cut Pro. And thanks for the kind words
@TheFeralPainter Thank you! I can't wait to try this on the Chaos War Dogs 🤘🏻
Hi mate, which crackle paint did you use? Looking to start my grim dark War Doggo and your videos are a great inspiration!
Army painter crackle paint. Any coulor will do 😉
@TheFeralPainter thank you so much dude!
How do you remove the shade in the beginning? Nice video 😍
Oderless mineral spirits or white spirits
Very nice video!!! When you have time show us the grimdark technique at berserker!!!
Hopefully soon! 😉
Less nail biting, more “Death Row” thumbnails, according to US research where those particular inmates often had similar shallow nails. They decided it was people capable of great violence, but who also were aware of it and tried to keep out of situations where they couldn’t control their emotions.
He’s a champ of a painter and modeler, too, obviously.
I have brought this crackle paint after watching this, mine didnt crack at all, did you have any issue like this or i was wondering if you take the nossel off as i didn't
Shake well. Apply a little ticker. 👌🏻
How do you varnish the dirty down rust or any of the dirty down products?
I don’t. However I think any varnish over them lightly applied would work
Please provide a link to where I can get that powered drill you demonstrated. PLEASE. I have an electric dremel, maybe I just need to get an attachment for it.

@@TheFeralPainter Shiny. Thanks!
Hello FP! Question: i am painting normal acrylic paint and than i want to use: varnish, enamel wash, dirty down stuff, chipping and dry pigments, in which order would you apply the stuff? :D thx
Mmmmm all depends really. But i usually paint the mini, varnish (if required) then enamels. Or u could enamel first.
Then dirty downs then pigments. Checkout my athon heavy sentinal video on how to get the best from pigments 👌🏻
@@TheFeralPainter thank you so much!
Trying to think of the ultimate grimdark challenge, eldar harlequins. Has anyone got any idea's on a relatively quick grimdark harlequin paint scheme?
Maybe I could look into it
Could teach an old armour modeler some new tricks. Great vid.
Thanks so much! That means a lot
If I’m using acrylic paints, would paint thinner be a better option than the mineral spirits?
Don’t use mineral spirits or any abrasive thinner with acrylics. I mean that in the context of thinning acrylics.
Mineral spirits should only be used with enamels or oils. To thin acrylics use water
@@TheFeralPainter ah, I see. So to achieve the result you did with the cotton swab, I could soak a swab in water, and then wipe at the acrylics?
Just in time for war damaged terminators in 10th edition. Cheers 😃
Your welcome!!
What crackle paint are you using?
Army painter. However any brand would work
Where tf did you get that sweet drill from ? and does it some with other attachments ?
Yes it’s in the discription
How did you do the damage through the decal? 20:21
Just painted over it 😊 or used sponge
@@TheFeralPainter Appreciate the speedy reply! Keep up the great work
awesome but i worried about what u breathin in with that plastic grinding
I wear a respirator 😷 usually.
Dude this is dope! Definitely going to try this out on my custom Krieg Knight. Any chance you could do a grimdark krieg in the future?
It’s something I could possibly look at! 😊
How do u seal in the pigments?
I don’t tbh. But if I was too I’d either use a varnish or pigment fixer.
@@TheFeralPainter thank you
Any chance of seeing some grim dark Alpha Legion
Bro it’s an Ultramarines armor piece, that’s like already legit Alpha Legion...
Yup I shall work on this seems to pop up a lot 😊
Have you goofed around with monument hobbies newsh yet?
What is it?
Magician ?
Yep
really enjoyed, excellent tutorial sub from me 👍

Looks fantastic. But, plasteel doesn't rust.
No way? I’m gonna have to repaint everything 😫
Space Marine armor doesn't chip, crack, or rust. Just doesn't happen.
Fucking virgin!
The switch between that super solid intro, and not being able to understand a word afterwords was pretty jarring. My hearing isn't perfect but please get a better mic I'd love to be able to watch this
✌🏼
Anyone else get the urge to scream racial slurs at their neighbors while watching these videos?
All the time!
Clickbait
🤪 worked thow didn’t it 😂 same principles differnt coulor
Awesome video 🎉
Thanks so much man! Means a lot!
Here because of @Sultanplays, this method looks achievable as well as absolutely incredible!
Thanks for coming along! And thanks so much for ur kind words 😊✌🏼✌🏼
Would work wonders on death guard... Sooo when is that tutorial happening? 🫡
Very soon 😏😏
This is great. Could you explain how to combine this with colors? I'm having trouble understanding how to mix a color palette with my grimdark
Just the same, just choose what ever coulor you like and weather them the same 😊
