  • In this video, I show how you can use an IKEA Ribba picture frame to make an inexpensive lightbox. You might want to use this to display a transparent image as I am, or for other purposes.
    Parts needed:
    IKEA Ribba Frame - www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/ribba-fr...
    LEDs and Power Adaptor- amzn.to/2MlT3K6
    Silver Foil Tape - amzn.to/2Mmrj8y
    Framing Tape - amzn.to/2TDxohl
    Wooden Dowelling - amzn.to/2Mm7g9X

A very well executed video, thanks Adam; does it matter what paper the picture is printed on, in order to get a good amount of light?

Obviously, the thinner the paper the better. I was actually using a transparency here - a bit like a photographic negative. So light coming through was no problem. If you just used a regular photographic print, I'm not sure it would work very well since regular print paper is too thick to let much light through. Good luck!

    Is your image transparent?

The image is a transparency. Mine is preprinted, but this might still work if the paper your image is printed on was thin.
