- This video will show the unboxing set up and running of the SUA2000iD i power 2000W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator. I will be setting the generator to run on propane. It was purchased from Costco Canada in November 2021. The generator was shipped from Costco and I had to pick it up at the local Canada Post Office. First impressions were very positive. Buy motor oil, it doesn't come with any.
Great tutorial using the propane option. thanks
Thank you for making this video. It helped a lot.
Great instructional video, Thanx. The reason that there is a little oil in it is because at the factory they had to fill it and test it, then drain it for shipment. I have another new generator that was filled with oil and it leaked and made the bottom of the shipping box soaked. Suggestion: do not destroy the box it came in in case you need to return it (makes it much more convenient). Noise level: There is no such thing as a "Quiet" generator. ALL generators are noisy and have to be to run a good load. Also I wonder if the Generator/Inverter is Pure or modified Sine wave ors bonded. I tried to run a small window ir conditioner (600w with 900 watt surge) in my RV and it did not get cold though the fan ran. I bought from amazon a bonding plug in the 120 volt outlet and ran the RV power from the 30amp with surge protector and the air conditioner then ran freezing cold. Fact most small generators will not run the RV Air Conditioners that are installed in them, bummer!
Looking at buying this same gen and running it with propane only
Do you know the part number for the propane/regulator and hose assembly, I am looking for a replacement?

Do you think it's kinda loud for a camp site?
I would say yes it would be on the loud side in a camp ground. During the day you might get away with it.
@BCvictoriarealestate Indeed, it is noisy for a campsite, but I camp at Wadleigh Falls Campground in Lee NH, it's unlikely you'll find a quieter portable inverter generator. The power was out for the majority of the season, and the few seasonal residents who stayed used small inverter generators. We all had to adapt and eventually became accustomed to the noise. However, this model is quieter than most other small inverter generators.
Does it work with natural gas from the grid?
they never answered u but any gasoline generator should work with a natural gas adaptor.
Hello! I was wondering if you have had a chance to use this any more since you posted your video. I'm considering buying this model.
My big question is, how long does it run on a 20 lb propane tank?
I have not run the propane tank to empty yet. My research indicated that I should get 4 to 5 hours of running time. Running time is also subject to the load that the generator is required to put out. When I have a actual number I will post it.
@@BCvictoriarealestate thanks! I ended up buying one after seeing your video! I anticipate having a few hundred watts at most (Less than 500) so Hope it will run for a while.
@@tookmyhandle2 I would think it should burn less than 1 lb per hour at 500w. I'm guessing like 0.6-0.7 lbs/hr. The champion 2000w dual fuel I bought claims 34h out of a 20 pounder at 1/4 load (360w)
@@juliogonzo2718 may I ask the model you bought?
Sir
I’m thinking of purchasing this would you still recommend this unit
I found the generator suited my needs what sold me on it was the fact that it runs on propane.
@@BCvictoriarealestate yes gas is 6$ a gallon and propane is 3$ a gallon is my biggest thought
I’m considering this item but cannot find one at Costco. Was it online and how much was it?
On the Costco Canadian website they currently have them in stock Item 1802002 Model SUA2000iD at $569.00 CDN
I seen them on Amazon also
Remember not to use portable gas generators indoors. Good you were safe.
