      A-ipower has a 3500 watt dual fuel. It has remote start. I haven’t seen a TH-cam review on that one. (Maybe I just haven’t looked hard enough). You just may be the first! Home Depot has it for $800. My request.

    It’s been a year since I bought mine and it’s a beast and reliable. I use it for my caravan to run my inverter split AC, TV, and water heater in an outside temperature of 40C (104F). It’s not quite though but I still love it

    Great reviews.
    I need to ditch my traditional generator for an inverter generator (I don't want to burn out another TV during a power outage). I just need something that can keep up with my 1/3 sump pump and my fridges. (Not at the same time obviously.)
    Not sure if you have a basement, but a sump pump test on these generator reviews would be very helpful.
    Keep up the good work!

    Good review. I am considering one for these for a small teardrop trailer. While you mention others may be quieter, very few have the 30amp RV connector in this size generator. Most have the basic 110 outlet connectors. I guess I'll keep looking.

    • @SmedleyButler1
      @SmedleyButler1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like it's 30amp connector would only work if another generator is hooked up in series though

    I thought it worth bringing up that they offer a dual fuel version of this model for about $100 more. For someone looking for just a backup generator, the reliability of propane over gas is a prime feature to many.

    • @rickchandler2570
      @rickchandler2570 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just bought this one with the main thing that attracted me to it was the propane capability. I plan on using it with my small travel trailer and propane is so much more convenient. Only drawback is it loses about 100 watts capability.

  • @mrmrmr4776
    @mrmrmr4776 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your sound test was set up incorrectly. You had a brick backstop behind the Gen, this backstop reflects the sounds making it quite a bit louder. Retest and place it on grass with the exhaust facing away and you will see it tests very close to the advertised decibels.

    My biggest concern is durability, and also, how well they would fire up in the spring after being idle during the winter (that's assuming that one uses fuel stabilizer and follow other "winterization" practices). I would be using a generator at my campsite when our rocket club conducts range operations between April and October, and then putting it away until the following spring. Also, I have heard that one significant difference between Honda and the El Cheapo generators that like to compare themselves to Honda is that Honda uses better quality bearings. That might mean the Honda would be more likely to last for several seasons. I'd hate to splurge on a cheap generator, only to get one or two years of use from it. That's false economy.

      @24vignettes94 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've had mine for a couple of years. The first time I pulled it out after a long period of down time, it was very difficult to start. I found that the spark plug wire was loose on the plug. I pulled mine out again this week. I used a cheap harbor freight grinder to hack up an old piece of farm equipment. It started on the third pull after sitting with no fuel for several months. It ran my grinder well but bogged down a couple of times when it was under heavy load. I was cutting 2 1/2" by 1/4" material. So, overall I am happy with it. Also worth noting: these are using Yamaha clone engines, the blue ones use actual Yamaha engines

    • @dafuq524
      @dafuq524 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sound like an issue for any small engine. I'd suggest NOT owning a gasoline engine if you can't worry free pull that cord.

    Like the way you handled this review. Very good sir.
    Which generators in these general specs that you've tested have a separate fuel shut-off valve? Can you tell me. For the purpose of running the carb dry at shut down of course.
    LIttle confused on how the "On Off' combined with fuel on or off works in this regard. Seems like those do not drain the entire float bowl dry as would be preferable for extended storage.

    Cost to run with gas going over $2 a Lt in Canada means $8 for 4 hours and going up :( Not the worst or the best. Running a small deep freezer for a few hours a day should not be too bad and might even be cheaper then buying ice all the time . Would say at 1/2 power 7 hours more then enough for that .

    1) dual (or tri) fuel are the only way to go, zero sense to get any other imo 2) love no intro, fast to the point tests etc....imo, youd get "project farm" popularity if you also focused on the "innards", like the difference in bearings and fuel injected or whatever that makes Hondas so much better.... Keeping shorter than project Farm, with more definitive results, but with a twist, on internal build quality/ accelerated durability tests... There's gotta be a generator that's better than Honda and cheaper

    • @kevinsgarage
      @kevinsgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That exactly what I was thinking of adding to my videos- a tear down and peek at the quality, serviceability, and availability of the internals. I don't like having to throw away something if it breaks.
