    Great video. It’s very interesting how you correlated guitar and bass. It makes a lot of sense.

    Crazy Train has always been one of my favorite songs! And I agree the bassline is a masterpiece like the rest of it. It really propels the song in my opinion more so than the guitar or drums, making you feel like you are going a thousand miles an hour well on a crazy train lol Anyway, love the analysis and your take on the song and its bassline!

    My hero!❤️Bob's playing has inspired me since I first heard it, when I was just 13. I went on to play lead guitar for 30 years, but always had a fond place for the bass, especially the way Bob laid it down.
    In the past couple years, I've finally switched over to bass as my main instrument, and Bob's parts have become my go-to for what to do and how to do it, as well as being fun as hell to play.
    Great videos, thank you!

    Daisley is a G. The pulse style playing he does during the verse, being as precise as he is, isn't as easy as it sounds. He is like a human metronome. Amazing bass player

    BOb Daisley one of the most underappreciated musicians in rock and metal history. Formed one of the all time great bands with Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads and Lee Kerslake, Blizzard of Ozz.
    His bass playing often goes under the radar.

    I used to only hear the guitar then one day I realized all the stuff the Bass was doing and when I hear the song I focus on the bass. So this video gets an A major from me.

      bass really is instrumental to this song, it is doing a lot of different things not just playing underneath the guitar.

    For the lead I always went from playing half time feel at the beginning to the double time feel at the end picking up the pace as the lead tempo progressed

    Very modest man and extreme professional insight in the role of the bass player. He'd be worshipped here if I hadn't found out about the danger of worshipping. ;-)

  • @ognjenmilenkovic3050

    Bob is a behemoth in bass player world which was necesary considering he had to follow freaking Randy Rhoads and his riffs and fill in the gaps, not to distrspect other guitar players

    • @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
      @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Randy needed a guy to play off of, but Randy was always in front of the beat so Lee and Bob had to stay tight.

  • @user-re2yg7lb5h
    @user-re2yg7lb5h 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The opening bassline under Randy's F# riff was from a Quiet Riot song...so, no...Randy did not intend for a repeating F# bass punch. As great as Bob is, that was not his idea.

    • @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
      @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I read somewhere one of Randy's students said Randy might have almost as good on bass as he was on guitar

  • @daveweed2765
    @daveweed2765 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah well playing bass is a lot more simple than trying to replicate Randy. But this song is just magic regardless.

  • @sageantone7291
    @sageantone7291 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've read that Randy came up with the backing intro bass notes as well. As we hear him play the power chords on the live Tribute version, in the intro. And (a slight nuanced) it's not that Bob added counter-point to Randy's solo. But Randy was soloing counter-point to the bass line Bob created. That solo rhythm was completely Bob, and Randy used it the best way possible.

    The main songwriter, arranger and killer basslines. Those first three Ozzy albums wouldn't have done shit without this legend!!!
    And he also co-wrote the next three albums and played on two of them.
    And then Ozzy and his wife screwed him so badly with the credits, re-recordings and all their lies lies and lies!!!

    • @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
      @Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He almost played on all 6, but they had Phil redo the bass but he is on the demo which is superior to the album version

    I'm sure 2 dislikes are from frustrated guitarists that could not play this song, the rest dislikers are moldy boys who never loved or made love to a sexy woman.
