Whoever did the concrete for them should have to pay for this repair. Clearly didn't check for the pipe and cost this customer big time. Great job you guys and I'm sure that customer isn't angry with you two.
I appreciate the fact that you showed it the way you did and that you cut the concrete and you replace the pipe a lot of people don't show that which I'm glad you did you did cause now more people know what you can do

Whoever did that hard landscaping and drainage needs to answer some questions!
In UK, causing contamination such as sewage to enter storm drains would be an offence. This is because storm drains from homes often empty into natural watercourses.
To avoid that risk a suspected breached drain would need to be vaccum sucked out first to avoid transfer, then investigated probably by CCTV.

There was no way those two ends of pipe ever lined up, or were deep enough... that they didn't know that was crushed before concrete was laid.

This kind of stuff is another consequence of pipes that are barely buried.

I agree - the company that damaged the pipe should pay your bill and pay some to the customer for their frustration. Maybe that would teach them to check for drain/sewer pipes in the future! Good job - as usual.

The concrete contractor should be getting a BIG BILL, and where was the inspector on all this? Where I live, all of that is required to be inspected before being signed off on. Granted, many inspectors are slimy 'I've done my time, now pay me to approve this fiasco", but at least there is some kind of paper trail...sometimes (I had a backflow preventer put in wrong in my new house EASILY seen from the picture I took of all the plumbing runs, yet the inspector said "all was good")....yea...all was good after somebody greased a palm...

Quick question: Why don't you leave small amount of water flowing (low pressure) through nozzle when inserting/pulling out. That would prevent clogging when there is mud/sand.
🤗I really enjoy your videos. I made a wooden nozzle myself for garden hose to clean pipe from sand and clay tile pieces.😁 It works but lacks a pressure to clean baked in things.
