Yeah, that was a hell of a concert, I bought the video a long time ago. It was so psychedelic, especially since Morrison was on acid. I don't know how he maintained a remembered lyrics. It brought the best of the Doors. It was bizzar and mesmerizing like I've never seen before. I could just watch it over and over!
I really like what Ray Manzarek says at the end. It was fun ....his youth. Too many people take all this way too seriously...JIm wasn't a sourpuss and gloomy ....he was a fun interesting guy. This was a great band...wish I could have seen them live with Jim. Records will have to suffice and just have to take the inspiration from their message....stay open to possibilities ....drugs not necessary...just like Bruce Lee said too ..water can flow or it can crash ...be water my friend....
He passed on shortly after this due to bile duct cancer, you can tell he was kind of jaundiced but still was upbeat and positive. That's what's great about good music. The artists don't live forever but the music does.
@@srinath31 I wouldn't call 3+ years later 'shortly'...... I saw them in '91 at the Long Beach Arena and Jim was drunk as a sailor. Not the best show, but I saw them!

The days of my youth rise fresh in my mind. Over too soon. "Like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes 'Awww!'"
Rays words at the end brought tears to my eyes...i'm 38 years old you know. I discovered the band when i was 13 and a couple years later i realized that i would never have the chance to see them performing live on stage...Years later a friend of mine called me on the phone and told me that the Doors will play live in Athens!!! It was the year 2004 and one of the best nights of my life!! Please excuse my English...
Well done compilation footage and pics.... the shirtless one is very rare.... Morrison was in his absolute prime here. Messed up or not his singing was spot on at the show... jagger was at this show b/c Morrison was replacing him as the top dangerous lead in rock.... at this point he could’ve done anything in multimedia, star in a movie, direct, stage act, write etc... he looked very healthy a good 10 lbs heavier, filled out and strong vs the lean Venice London fog days.... it would all be over less then a year away in spring Miami.
