i own the big brother to the MR2, a 1985 Toyota Celica and trust me when i say. Its magical to drive a car from another era. and its such a joy to drive. any toyota from this era was absolutely groundbreaking and only now have they started earning respect. Love your AW11 and keep that flying bird soaring!
I really love this car with all my heart. For the past two months the car has been growing on me and when I ever get the chance to get a car I might import one of these cars to the states. I love the beautiful design of the exterior and interior. The interior and just everything is very simple, but in a good way. I don’t like how most modern cars nowadays are mostly electronic with dashboards, tachometers, and even the emergency brake in some cars. so having a nice simple car that’s easy to handle is great.
Why import one? There are plenty of them in the US, I am sure you could find one for sale quite easily. Great car, by the way. I put 265,000 km on mine before I sold it and never had the slightest problem with it. Most fun car I ever owned and the best handling as well.
Bought a mk1a myself this past May, has been everything I expected and wanted! A car where you can have lots of fun at low speeds while filling up regular gas (esp with the crazy prices nowadays). I was thinking of keeping it completely stock but with my rear dampers getting worn out I will install a set of WAT coilovers next year... hope to more videos if you ever end up modifying the car (Also after that paint job!)
Yeah, it's so much fun to drive. I have the same problem with the dampers and I can't find any original ones, so I'll have to do the same eventually. And for the paint job it's still a long way to go sadly, there will be a lot videos of other cars before I finished with the MR2 (if everything works as planned with this channel).
Love the enthusiasm in your video! I've been a aw11 owner and enthusiast for 26 years. I had 5 3/4 aw11's at one stage. I love them. I only have 2 aw11's now. Enjoy it!
Thank you very much for the motivation. Yeah they work for everybody if you want a little Sunday car there you have it, if you want a challenging car there you have it too.
I have a mk1B 1987 AW11, it’s an excellent car. A true sports car too just as much as an MG or a Porsche. And the engines not bad on power either for the weight
im guessing youre in Switzerland too? :) greetings from another MR2 owner ;) if you want to try a toyota that used to be very common on Swiss roads but now is non existant, ive got a 92 Carina ll GLI as well
Great review, that came from the heart! If you don't mind some constructive criticism, maybe give a brief summary at the end and work on those cut off edits.
@@slaverescuehound3440 I personally would say try finding parts if that's what you prefer. Or maybe get a gen two MR2. Spyder is not for me personally.

I believe you 100% my father owned one, the only regret he has, is that he sold it.
Just love this dudes energy and outlook on the car
Thank you very much, I appreciate it.

I don't like Toyota very much, but the Mister Two is my favourite.

I have a 86 mr2. Rebuilding engine. There hard to find
Would you suggest a 03’ spyder instead due to the lack of part?I really would rather the 85

I can relate, to be honest here in europe it's even more difficult.
