I am a newbie at wire wrapping and have watched many tutorials to learn this fascinating craft. This is by far one of the easiest to follow and well thought out one that I have seen. Thank you for speaking clearly, loudly and slowly enough to follow each step. Thanks!
YOU ARE THE BEST!!! I have been practicing this from other sites for the longest and yours is explained much clearer. I followed your instructions and got this right on the second try.
I have tried other styles of briolette wrapping and I had a hard time keeping each bead wrap uniform. Your instructions were clear and easy to follow - thank you!
First time doing this; got it right, but I had to take it apart because I wanted it in a chain.....which lead me to a tip: when putting this onto a chain, turn it upside down so the chain hangs below and out of your way. It makes it much easier to wrap without also wrapping up the chain or whatever's on it.
I wish we could post pictures, I have one that I did before and 3 that I did AFTER your tut (in case it was a fluke). I'm dancing around going yes! yes! yes! Thank you so much.
This is different from the way I'm used to. I think I like it better. It seems to have more control of the wire. The more way to do a thing the better. The more capabile the artist can be. Thank you
Wow thank you soooooooo much for this AWESOME video. I have seen others do this but the videos clarity was awful, and they did the wire wrapping weird. Thank you thank you!!!!!
I am unclear as to how the circle loop ends up facing forward, when you wrap the hat, it's facing to the side. I have this problem when I wrap and have to turn the loop and it never looks perfect.
Is there a specific length of wire, or a formula for measuring how long depending on the size of the bead. This was fabulous. I struggle and struggle. Maybe no more!
We cut the wire long so we have enough to work with - probably between 3" or 4". Unfortunately there is no easy recipe as the size bead or gauge wire will all change the measurements. I suggest trying first in a cheap metal to see what length works best for you.
Excellent instruction; just personally struggling with getting a clean cut for the tail that is inside the loop... could it be the quality of the cutters? Would it make a difference to purchase a less economical version? Any experience shared is valued thank you.
Good wire cutters can make a world of difference. Choosing the right one for your projects can be tricky. It also depends on how you want them to handle. Tronex and Lindstrom are high quality tools. The Tronex cutters specifically are super precise and cut sharp! They are made in the US and are great for fine wire work. There are some restrictions in terms of how thick your wire can be so I suggest you look into that. Lindstrom also carries a great cutter. Xuron cutters are great for thick wire. www.beaducation.com/pc/220-jewelry-making-tools-pliers-cutters?utf8=%E2%9C%93&qry=&choices%5B41%5D=on&choices%5B48%5D=on&choices%5B49%5D=on&choices%5B50%5D=on&sort_order=Default
24 gauge wire is a great place to start but it really depends on the size of the hole of your bead. Many small hole gemstones are delicate and require thinner wire like 26 or 28 gauge.

10 years old and this is still my favorite method of wrapping briolets.

That's what I want to know!

Thank you so much for narrowing down the selection with your expertise!
thank you ive learnt a lot
hi. able to recommend how thick (mm) should I get for the wire to do this wrapping? worries I might get too thin/thick for wrapping..

What is the blue semi precious stone you are wrapping?
+Julie Simko I don't remember exactly but it's likely either glass or blue quartz.
Great job !
Thank you ❤️‼️
Where do you buy your stones?
Honestly, this was a stone that I found years and years ago at a gem show and I don't remember who the vendor was.
👍🏻too pretty 👌🏻 too Nice 👍🏻
How long should the wire be for the hat wrap? You said the short end should be 1/2 inch but never mentioned total length, unless I missed it.
