Then for Yuna I just cast auto-life every single turn, for 255 turns, until doom killed the boss. :D
Yeah, it was really, really, really long. I think it was the last thing I did in that game. I was like "I've beaten the main quest, all the 'major' side quests" but I wasn't either overleveled enough or figured out a legitimate strategy for Earth eater, and I just noticed on a whim that it wasn't immune to Doom so I was all like "I want to see if this works!" Honestly, I half expected it to get down to zero and then just troll me with "Missed" or something.
Auron, wakka tidus set Armor: deathproof, break hp to all three of them and max strength 2 attack reels at the beginning consecutively so he would not fall on his back and instead will counter with megaton punch for each attack reels, which has a much quicker animation than flare and 2 normal attacks for the kill, which is faster than slice and dice.That strategy only took me less than a minute
@@Taterzz no its not. I timed it 3 times. Yes it has less moves, but the animation of slice and dice and the flare are just long. The two megaton punch is still much faster than 1 flare.
I have my maxed celestial, 255 str, 255 luck and my atk reels are only doing 31-34k per hit. I dont think health affects overdrive but this is the case even at max health. Is there something else it is based on also that’s hidden? Does earth eater have higher defense in the North American version?
Actually it's NOT the fastest. Yes it takes ~90s for the batttle, but you gotta add ~15s to reload the overdrives with dingo, so it takes ~105s to get 2 fortune spheres. Here is the fastest way using wakka's attack reels: 1. Set Wakka's overdrive mode to Loner. 2. Hit Earth Eater 2 times with any character (it falls on its back after losing 100,000HP). 3. Have everyone Escape the battle, but Wakka. 4. Load overdrive by passing the turn, and use Attack Reels when you can. Do that 2 times. 5. Earth Eater is now dead (2 hits at 99,999 + 2 x 12 hits at ~50,000). 6. Repeat from step 2 to 5. Heal yourself once in awhile when needed, either with curaga when loading overdrive, or at the sphere. It takes ~90s to get 2 fortune spheres. The downside of that way is you gotta have and master Attack Reels.
zehaxed agreed but i think the victor is better since killing a monster in the species conquest (like the sleep sprout) gives you teleport sphere and increases the odds of dark matter, so you wont be only farming fortune spheres
Only takes me 110s just to spam attack and nothing else. Need: Auto-Haste, Auto-Phoenix on armor. 3 characters with celestial weapons and all of their stats maxed except luck....which is what you're here farming for. Also, if you emulate you can turbo it. I can finish a battle with the above in 25s.

Btw guys i tried all weapons on wakka the customized one and wakkas world champion. You can actually go with the customized one if u dont wanna farm for the wakkas celestial one. Earth eater is a tough and armored monster even harder armor than the dark aeons and penance and ultimate with wakkas celestial does around 45k to 49k per hit against earth eater. WIth the customized one you do 42k to 47k per hit and against all the other bosses always does 99k. The one i did to get thoses numbers almost as good and sometimes even better is you want a 4 empty slot one and get.. Customized - Break damage limit - Triple Overdrive - Strength 20% - Evade and Counter. Celestial - Break damage limit - Triple Overdrive - Double ap - Evade and Counter. You are basically just swapping the double ap for strength 20% since its gonna do better than most monsters. Dont go piercing. The good thing about the celestial ones is that it ignore a good ammount of enemies defense so the 20% str actually makes up for it. Yes i tried this without luck.

@@ivancouto1028I see, so my luck doesn’t even matter. What do you think is making me do less damage when I have 255 str w/celestial? The guy in the video did like 45k or so and I’m doing 12k less. And yes, I do 99k per normal hit, but his rebound animation still makes the atk reel loner strat much quicker. I just don’t like that I need to hit atk reels 3x instead of just 2x 😂
@@darcash1738 thats very strange you should be able to do more than that especially with celestial. Btw you do more damage to earth eater when he falls to the ground so start with basic attacks until he falls then hit wakkas attack reel

But yeah I was already doing that too 😅 I did the wakka loner strat where you hit earth eater once, then wakka kills the remaining party members and hits EE again, then waiting until his gauge fills up w/triangle. I was able to grind this out to max luck for yuna wakka and tidus, bc it’s like maybe ~15s time loss doing the extra atk reels. But I want to get to the bottom of this in case I want to max anyone else 😂 Interestingly, I am not noticing any difference in dmg for the celestial weapon for overdrive-only for the standard attack. I believe this is because it ignores defense, while I’m not sure if overdrive does. Possibly useful is that Tidus is doing the same dmg range as in the video
Not the fastest. You can shave about 20 seconds off by just using wakka and his loner drive. Considering how much you need to farm earth eater you can ultimately shave about an hour off of the total grind time which is pretty significant
There's a better way to beat it, have 1 undeveloped character in comrade mode and Wakka and Tidus over drive gauge fill up after the undeveloped character die by flare. Rinse and repeat.

Big Ben, forgot to mention that I do as well. I think what it came down to was luck, which increase your chances of critical hits. I increased it a little more recently, and a few of those hits go up to the 50Ks. Just gotta keep grinding it out.

Took me around 20 minutes this time with some luck. The chocobos are just too unpredictable. With the Wakka trick, you don't need criticals at all, just the stats mentioned elsewhere in this thread. I'm doing it right now, no problems, just a little annoying because you have to time the slots twice.
I had starter Luck stats and did this damage with Attack Reels and Slice and Dice (at 255 Strength). Are you using Celestials, and are you completing the Overdrive timings ASAP?
Why tf is this recommended to me after 9 years. Btw blitz ace can do max damage per hit with sufficient luk (which is 127 to crit all). Because surprisingly blitz ace can crit.

that's 2 punches and one flare. whereas with the other method you're sitting through one punch and one flare. so it's technically slower.

@@darcash1738 Wakkas attack reel doesnt crit and no matter the weapon you cant deal 99k damage to him. Maybe your basic attack will deal 99k

Somehow I beat earth eater without Wakka attack reel. I use Yuna Anima aeon overpower instead. And now I can't beat earth eater second time

Cesar Aceves he's got full celestial weapon caladbolg which ignores all defense.
