Flop? It's not a flop. Good reviews by audience and critics. $100M in 2 weeks. It's silly to call a movie a flop after 2 weeks that has those numbers, especially because it is competing with an Apes movie that got a lot more press. This wasn't even supposed to be a blockbuster. It's just meant to appear that way.

A movie needs to make 2.5 times its budget back to be considered a success. It cost 125 million.

It was a fine film, but the trailers definitely made it look more funny than it actually was. The dog was the best part (and he was just a random character that popped in and out). I enjoyed it as a general popcorn flick.

I enjoyed this movie. Not to the extent I was hoping for but the stunts and action were great, the cast was excellent and all the behind the scenes of the movie set sequences had my inner movie geek very satisfied! Great review

just curious why you would call Fall Guy a blockbuster?

Hmm, looking at the marketing, cast, time of premiere etc. It definitely was supposed to be one - not that it reached that status in the end.

@@barbzthings I'm sure studios would love to have ability to predict one but blockbusters only occur after the fact.

If this film cost 70 million it's a huge hit - unfortunately at 125 million it just isn't

You're absolutely correct! It's pretty interesting how budget influences how we measure the success (technically it got more eyeballs on it than some smaller productions but still is considered a loss).

@@barbzthings they can't keep expecting a movie to gross 2.5 times its budget when production costs increase year on year. Feels like movies costs need to be capped at 100m or something. I found the other day dr strange 2 cost 400m - like what were they even doing with that money?? That means it only JUST broke even on box office, making 900m.. if that movie cost 100m it would've been a stratospheric hit.

It wasn't as fun as anticipated. While it had some good scenes I was praying for it to end in the last 30 min. The stunt scenes weren't that good.
