This church showed me the Bible, it actively helps serve the scriptures to align beliefs and actions with what Jesus teaches. No church is perfect, but one that encourages discipleship, baptism, and repentance is one to support and belong to.
Not sure about being a cult, but the Bible already teaches us about how a church should been overseen. By Elders. If there are no men qualified to be elders then other men who the church feels can lead. Just one mans take on things.
@@Sotol811 it’s not a cult, it helps churches align with the scriptures and is not stuck in its own culture. We are sharing Jesus, trying to live like him, and growing the kingdom of Jesus.
Without a central leader, it’s hard to maintain unity worldwide. Discipling (calling people to the standard of the Bible) is also important to increase the number of committed members. I couldn’t help but notice that there was only about a 15% increase throughout the last 10 years? Is that growth warm-contact (blood-family) or is it cold-contact? Wishing you all the best!
Do an in depth study of the Holy Spirit…we are unified through the spirit there is no need to have a high level of control/unity as the ICOC sees it…the reason many left is they loved the organization not god
Most cults are not organized in this way. Usually they are strictly hierarchical. In fact, this is one of the key characteristics. Do you see this here?
Thank you for this explanation. Indeed leadership structures may not be perfect, but we must strive towards unity as a movement. Appointing more elders, teachers, and deacons may help local churches grow to maturity. Failure to have elders to appoint may say a lot about how we practice the scriptures. I believe eldership is a result of the teachings over the years - meaning that the Eldership is the fruit of discipleship since we appoint leaders from the local congregation. I am more interested in our local churches and their growth patterns. Nonetheless, I love the global perspective and the unity this brings us as a movement.
I grew up in the ICOC cult and am none better for it. Love and respect yourself first and foremost, then demand the same from those that are left in your life. You should be saving at least 20% of your income. You cannot help others if you’re unable to support yourself physically, mentally and financially both today and sustainably in the future. Tithe and thus giving out of poverty cannot lead to a “rock solid foundation” if it causes undue stress on each and every vital part of one’s existence.
Missed the mark for me, especially in this era. Didn’t understand the purpose. More akin to slick marketing vs real and relevant to church dynamics. Please, no more pie charts for crying out loud.
I'm sorry you felt like this was "slick marketing"! As to the pie charts, we were trying to find the most effective way to communicate the structure of our churches. I hope you continue to enjoy the channel!
@@Keydogo Might I suggest Timothy and Titus to base your church structure on. The Bible already gives us that answer. You are doing things how man wants to do it, not God.
They are still so obcessed with their own structure...It seems they still believe to be special..through not for the right reasons... They are in the center of their service....
When the Holy Spirit is allowed to be in control there’s no need for this type of control I mean organization….there are examples in the Bible of folks becoming Christians and not having a high level of contact and don’t say well the technology wasn’t there
Instead of pouring so much energy on your own structure of control....why don't you ICOC leaders help believers strenghten and deepen their faith and liberty in Christ by "walking them on the way to Emmaus".... Teaching what the Father says about the Son in the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms.....
Thanks for taking time to explain our current structure and presenting it in a format that can be shared by the churches around the world.
Glad it was helpful!
This was great. Amber is wonderful at doing these videos. She's a natural. I would vote for her to be on the Catalyst team!
We showed this at service last Sunday, well done!
Wow. Great video presentation, gang. I will get this out to our family of churches. 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Glad to see alot of repentance and more mature handling of the scriptures. More humility and openess. Not so much a "we are the only ones" mentality.

Interesting perspective. What exactly do you believe a central leader is necessary for?

ICOC is a false cult, dangerous with false doctrines, it is the most important, not the grow in number

The ICOC should better understand the Holy Spirit and the whole tithe issue which they take completely out of context in scripture
