Great tutorial, Sandip! For those following along, there are a few subtle tidbits in this that are important for success. I recommend watching and pausing at each step. But my install went flawlessly! Thank you, sir!
Thanks a Bunch - this worked without fault. I erased an old laptop, reinstalled Win 10 and followed your Linux Mint-Cinnamon dual boot protocol. Outstanding content !
I usually don't comment but man this tutorial is a life saver for amateurs. Many other tutorials dont talk about important steps like figuring out your bios, if you are using rufus then what to select mbr or gpt and lastly the boot loader installation.
Thabks man worked perfectly! Just curious tho is there a way to set it up so my pc will load into linux by default or do i have to always select linux upon turming kn my pc? Cheers.
Hey man thank you for amazing video and explanation, but I have a question though, If I decide to remove linux mint does the shrinked size of the drive go back to normal, or how does this actually work, I would appreciate the answer!
Does it matter that I shrunk from my largest hard drive instead of the SSD my main windows system runs on? I feel like this negatively impacted the speed mint runs at. It feels really sluggish like my raggedy old HDD-bound dell PC from 2017.
i think it is possible, there is one tutorial with win10 mac and kali. kali is a linux os like mint so i guess it works. correct me if im wrong though, im not 100% sure
I have 775 lga arch. old motherboard so i need to choose mbr(legacy) its okay and got it but you said that if you have legacy system, you should choose top of disk so all of the disk but if we choose this option, are not erase all of the data or windows system?
I don't get the menu where I can choose between the operating systems. I got all the way up until the remove medium and press ENTER. after I did that it started up on windows and when i restart it still doesn't work. any help?
I'm totally new to linux and dual booting . My question is incase if I update my windows 11 (system update) it will restart the system right. And it will show the bootloader to choose between os. Does the system update process get interrupted because of bootloader showing up ? I'm noob someone help me.
When ur system restarts during windows update, u have to choose windows option from menu to complete the update, choosing Linux might disrupt ur windows so pls keep that in mind when u update.
@@sandipsky8756 oh thanks, also when I was creating the partition during installation I had to create a separate space for EFI & then created the root partition. I did not create a partition for the swap area(I saw in an older video which said to create it) because I read somewhere that mint automatically creates a swap partition now automatically, I'm able to boot in and it works fine. Just let me know if i did that part properly because I'm honestly not very familiar with this stuff yet
Video does NOT confirm everything is working properly on Linux (login and installer screen only). Video doe NOT confirm everything is working properly in Windows (doesn't even wait for login screen). The setup instructions are most likely correct, though.
Quick warning dont update windows right after doing this, it can completely reverse it back to only booting into windows I did this, had to reinstall mint. There are solutions though.
bro pleasee make a video on "how to dual boot fedora 37 with windows 11".... with TPM 2.0 security chip and secure boot so please make a video on this i have 512gb ssd
I already made a video on that , I made a video for windows 10 but the process is same for windows 11 because fedora supports secure boot out of the box
i erased my windows on accident, 10/10 would do again
Sounds fun 😂
Lmao gg

Pretty easy to follow tutorial. Nice step by step, no nonsense.

thank you so much Sandip for the video , I have just added linux mint to laptop along side win 10 , both working 100%
ABSOLUTE GEM OF A VIDEO! The video just doesn't have any bloat and is just like how it should be.
Really helped testing me Linux Mint on real hardware, thank you very much! ❤
Great video, simple yet useful. One thing to add:
Creating swap partition is helpful too in case physical ram is full.
so its ok not too create a swap partition if you have let say 16gb ram?
Thank you great tutorial, accidently wiped one of my drives but its okay because it all works now lol :)
Thank you a ton from Uruguay 🇺🇾, Sandin.

Worked for me perfectly, note that to open the boot menu during restart for huawei is f12 (since he doesn't mention huawei laptops)
Huawei made laptops?
Short, simple and easy to understand! Thank you sir!
Thabks man worked perfectly!
Just curious tho is there a way to set it up so my pc will load into linux by default or do i have to always select linux upon turming kn my pc? Cheers.
You can do that, u can edit grub and set timeout to 0 or just look up for some guide online if u are beginner
Thank you bro you save me lot of time, easy and clear tutorial ❤
Thanks for your tutorial
Thank you Sandip
How to offer you a Coffee ? You just saved my life...

Informative video sir
Thank you for watching ,😊

You have to delete Linux mint partition and extend the partition to respective local disk manually through disk management or any other 3Rd party tool
thank you!
Okay 👍❤
Thanks!
Thank you.
It installed linux on windows boot manager now how to remove linux and keep windows only
But it's not showing boot options and conflicted to each other and on one operating system is working what I can do

Yes it matters , if possible u should shrink from SSD and install OS there
it matters, i will reinstall it today. Like, the system works fine but the boot is slow
Hi guys, any idea why it's still going to Win? Did steps exactly from tutorial.
Thanks
Great tutorial, man. Is it possible to triple boot? I want to install Mac OS after this.
i think it is possible, there is one tutorial with win10 mac and kali. kali is a linux os like mint so i guess it works. correct me if im wrong though, im not 100% sure

Its just a location to install grub bootloader, the actual drive where Linux mint is installed is the one which we mounted as /
@@sandipsky8756 Ah okay, thank you so much :-)
no need efi boot partition ?
thanks bro
After following your steps My pc is not booting need help
no need to add a 'swap' partition? some other tutorials said i needed to...
it's optional , u don't need it if u have more than 8 gb ram
@@sandipsky8756 oh ok thanks..

Go to bios and set boot priority of Linux mint grub at top
Bro is gpu works well in Linux and does it needs drivers to install
U may need to install Nvidia proprietary drivers if u have Nvidia GPU

How to set , to boot into windows by default if no selection is made?
I don’t think that can be done easily
Will windows 11 still work if you keep Secure Boot disabled?
Yes, u just need secure boot on to install win11
@@sandipsky8756 Thanks!
Hi, is the process the same for Nobara distro? I have actually never used Linux before and want to try Nobara after Linux Mint

No

Hey, when installing Linux Mint and connecting to the Internet, it says to turn off RST. Is that safe to do?
U can leave it on
bro dual boot option dekhayena
why not just choose the first option install linux along windows 11?
it will install linux in same drive so it may make it slower or fuck the partition up
why i cannot change the amount of space to shink in mb? i have only 206 mb
Use 3rd party tool like minitoolpartition wizard or amoei partition
bruh, there's no fat32 option in my case
