I budget about $40 per year to spend at Baker Creek, and I have just about hit that limit. I always try at least one new thing a year, this year I ordered a sweet desert tomatillo, the downside is that I live in Western WA, and the last 2 summers have been exceptionally cool and tomatillos prefer a warmer climate, but hope springs eternal. I grew that tiny orange hat tomato indoors last year it is OK, I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again, but yes it will grow and fruit indoors.
I want to grow tomatillos this year and I almost forgot! You totally reminded me! Have you tried growing under a catipillar tunnel or high tunnel? If you have the room that could definitely help with the cooler temps.
Getting seeds is so exciting!! 😄 What was your free seeds packet? That’s one of the things I love, is the surprise of the free seeds! I got purple Vienna kohlrabi
Seeds can be addicting. Thing is many places send 25 to 50 seeds for tomatoes. Who needs that many. I have traded before to help reduce cost. Chocolate cherry is my favorite tomato. I like the purple tomatoes also. Will be growing ground cherries for the first time this year. Enjoyed the video.
Hi, this year, I grew the Kellog's Bfast Orange and the Black Beauties. Honestly, I wasn't impressed. The size of both were not up to par with other slicers in my garden and they weren't especially tasty or productive. It took a long time for the Black Beauties to ripen. I've also grown the Black Hungarian pepper and it's a wonderful pepper. I hope they do well for you. I'm sorry to be a downer. I, however, didn't buy them from Baker Creek, so, hopefully you will have getter success. I'm growing them again next year along with 20 other varieties and wish you a wonderful 2023 season. Also, may I suggest some excellent tasting and productive paste/sauce tomatoes: Amish Paste, San Marzano Redorta, Russian Orange 117, Pink Oxheart, Polish Linguisa and Jersey Devils. If you grow them side by side with your romas, you won't be growing romas next year. Blessings to you and your garden. I'm happy to send you some of these seeds if you would like. Blessings!
Hello! I love my kellogs breakfast they got huge! And loved the flavor. Black beauties do take forever to ripen but they are on of my favorite tomatoes 😍 Some of those varieties you mentioned i have never grown! I'll be adding some to my list for 2023 😀😀😀
@@yogigardens Hi! I will be growing them again this year because maybe it was just a bad year for those varieties. I'm in zone 6 and we went from mid spring directly to 90 plus degrees of heat for about 6 weeks. Maybe that's why these two varieties were not good. What zone are you in? The other varieties did exceptionally well but I did have to water heavily. Anyway, I very much enjoy your videos and wish you the best.
@@tomfisher3117 I'm in zone 6b! Some years I've had better luck then others with certain varieties. I do like Amana Orange better than Kelloggs Breakfast because the produce more. I grow like 30 varieties every year and I think i just love the different flavors. If i was growing for something specific like sauce I'd stick to certain varieties over others for sure. But i mainly eat mine sliced or in salads. Thanks for following along! 😀
you have to keep checking their website for a restock. sometimes, things come in stock and then a few days later they are gone. but then they restock maybe a week later. there's one particular thing i'm pretty sure will sell quickly because they've posted it in their instagram so i'm trying to make sure i don't miss it this time around.

Cool selections of seeds, but I’m egarly cant took my eyes off the Groud (bottleneck and bottleneck/long) you have in your background-garden, I would love to have a few seeds of that for sure, I try to get it on Amazon from China to Poland and even here in Canada 🇨🇦 and it seems no one have it in stock or completely unavailable as they replied on. Can you kindly, assist me somehow getting a few of that seeds (GROUD) pleaseeeee. Thanks 🙏 🇨🇦
