I really liked this part because it allows us to see the impact we as Arthur had on people other than helping John escape. Only thing is the real “old friend” I wish we could have found was Gavin
Yeah, but I just wish Arthur was more directly involved with getting more of them out like Pearson, Mary-Beth, or Uncle just to feel the full impact of what he did rather than just John's family and Tilly. Still what he did to the few he got out was one of the most noble acts of generosity I've seen from a VG character.

It was great seeing all of them but it was seeing Pearson owning a general store with a wife upstairs that really warmed my heart and made me appreciate the some of them managed to leave ok, in large part to Arthur and his ultimate nobility in Chapter 6.

@@makknus Not even near. Final location of squirrel statue is on top of Mt.Shann which is a bit north-west of Strawberry. The robot is on top of a mountain west of Colter(your chapter 1 camp). Pick up the electric lantern in the lab, it's light will turn red when you are facing the robot's location that's how you supposed to find it.

That’s why you need mods, so you can massacre entire towns with a Gatling Gun shooting explosive ammo and a bow equipped with dynamite arrows, and keep your honor meter maxed out. That way I can whack the entirety of Saint Denis and still get the high honor ending.
I was happy and very relieved seeing everyone in the gang I always remember antagonising them and later greeting them it’s was fun especially when I saw Pearson I was very very happy I loved hunting food for him
Rains Falls was the one who got to me the most. You can still see he’s still grieving and in pain over his sons death and probably is hurt even more after hearing Arthur died too.. it also looks like he suffers with Dementia now because he forgot he left Canada to see his son..

You can have third conversation with Pearson. He’ll tell you that he was married once before Ethel and that he wanted to write to you and Abigail about their shared past that he didn’t want to discuss around his wife.
I know I'm late and I didn't play rdr2 till a few years after it came out but the emotional rollercoaster it was to play with Arthur and when I finished the epilogue I randomly come across these guys after wondering what happened to them genuinely made me cry as much as Arthurs death
It’s things like this that convinces me that, imho, RD2 is the greatest video game ever made. The emotional investment you have towards these characters, makes the length of time you invest in the game, more than worth it.
Perhaps a little anectode that touches on the topic of this video (meeting old gang members after the main story): Someone working at Rockstar, I know, told me the following story RDR 3 (though take it with a grain of salt - he may be pulling my leg in order to have some fun by playing on my enthusiasm for the games, he has signed an NDA after all). Anyhow, here it goes: He tells me in the epilogue of RDR 3 Mac Callendar, after escaping from prison, in the first mission of the epilogue, which starts about six months after the downfall of the Van der Linde gang, will travel to Saint Denis to seek out Josiah Trelawney hoping that he can tell him, where the gang has ended up, after him (Mac) beeing shot up and captured in Blackwater. Trelawney will inform him that the gang has been disbandened a couple of months after the ferry heist and that many gang members were killed. However, he encourages Mac to help one gang member who is alive and in need of a friend, to build a new life: Pearson, who has moved into Trelawney's old trailer at the city limits of Rhoades. Mac from there moves on to help Perason to get a new start on life and acquire the means to buy the local grocery store. Later on Mac meets Bill and Javier, working as mercenaries in New Austin, and preparing to go into hiding in Mexico. Karen he encounters living a miserable existence as a barmaid in a lousy tavern in a town in the newly accessible territory West of the Grizzlies. And there is even supposed to be a final meeting between Dutch and Mac, in which Dutch informs Mac about Micah's betrayal of the gang but, when Mac reacts to it by expressing the will to seek out Micah and kill him, strongly advises him, not to embark on the path of vengeance reminding him of his old lesson that it is "a fool's game" and instead leave Micah to him (Dutch), 'cause who has nothing left to loose. Instead Dutch asks Mac to find something positive to live for. So, if I've not been taken for a ride, there should be six cameos of former gang members akin to those in this vieo in the epilogue of RDR (Trelawney, Pearson, Javier, Bill, Kate and Dutch), though most of them are probably more sidecharacters and companions like Uncle and Charles and brief cameos. But anyhow, thought those whisperings in the gravpevine might interest someone.
You should do a video on the O’driscoll gang and the Lamoyne Raiders. Unless you already did and I can’t find it. There’s 207 of them at this point so I could have missed it pretty easy.
I always loved how the epilogue tied in perfectly with the original Red Dead Redemption game. I honestly wish that Rockstar would make a more... modern day version of the original game. Bring it up to speed with the second one. Not a reboot, just a remastered version, if you will. Either way, I have always loved both games and I think that the stories told intertwine perfectly. (Oh, and if they do make a remaster of the original game, perhaps we could get a few references to Arthur Morgan too. May his soul forever stand unshaken.)

Rains Fall's story was the worst. Lost his son, his tribe, everything. Stayed in Annesburg because the memories of them were the only thing that kept him going. At the very least he was able to finally find peace and move on from the place that gave him so much sadness and trauma.
I don’t get emotional often but seeing Rains Fall broke my fucking heart man. He had to watch his people get decimated and his only remaining son/family member is dead now. Now he and the few remaining survivors are moved to Canada, thousands of miles away from the only home they’ve ever known, which effectively is the end of that bloodline.
I encountered most of these by accident and they made me really happy to learn that other people were able to successfully get out of the gang; that was until I met Rains Fall, which tore my heart out all over again.

I can't help but wonder if John had to go and hunt down all of the people we see in this video before he had to get Bill, Javier and Dutch in RDR1. Well the other former gang members I mean, like Marry Beth, Tilly, and Pearson.
Part of me thinks that marry, Tilly, and Pearson were either a) not too important that the pinkertins cared about so even when they did find them, they let them go because they didn't really much; B) the pinkertins forgot about them; or C) John did knew, just never told them or said they were already dead.

Rains Fall's story was the worst. Lost his son, his tribe, everything. Stayed in Annesburg because the memories of them were the only thing that kept him going. At the very least he was able to finally find peace and move on from the place that gave him so much sadness and trauma.
I don’t get emotional often but seeing Rains Fall broke my fucking heart man. He had to watch his people get decimated and his only remaining son/family member is dead now. Now he and the few remaining survivors are moved to Canada, thousands of miles away from the only home they’ve ever known, which effectively is the end of that bloodline.
I encountered most of these by accident and they made me really happy to learn that other people were able to successfully get out of the gang; that was until I met Rains Fall, which tore my heart out all over again.

I can't help but wonder if John had to go and hunt down all of the people we see in this video before he had to get Bill, Javier and Dutch in RDR1. Well the other former gang members I mean, like Marry Beth, Tilly, and Pearson.
Part of me thinks that marry, Tilly, and Pearson were either a) not too important that the pinkertins cared about so even when they did find them, they let them go because they didn't really much; B) the pinkertins forgot about them; or C) John did knew, just never told them or said they were already dead.

@@DumbFoot1 , Ah. Yeah. That was pretty much a forgone conclusion. Whiskey back then was far from filtered. And given the harshness of climate. It would have been real easy for a drunk to freeze to death or catch pneumonia from not being propperly dressed for the weather.
