I’m 5’3, size 18 and an H cup, so pretty different body type from Carrie, but Old Navy reliably slays with dresses for me too. There’s always a few that I try on and it’s an instant yes, which is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of stores. I can always leave with something.

They really are the only brand I can confidently order anything in my size and it actually fits-different types of jeans/shirts/pants, doesn’t matter. Unlike any other store, like target where I literally bought the exact same style of universal thread jeans I already owned in the same size and they didn’t fit at all 🙄

I bought that first dress at the beginning of summer (along with a swimsuit you recommended, actually), and I had the same problem with it being too big up top. Maybe it's an issue with the dress itself? I just kept it and wear it because I'm lazy about returning things, but I'm wondering if layering it with a t-shirt or something will help give the straps on top something to hold onto and make me feel more comfortable in it.

The problem Im having with dresses is how transparent all new fabrics are. Such a bummer to have to put layers on when wearing a dress 😭😭😭 Would love if you could touch base on that when you do try ons

Every time that they do the millennial vs. gen z fashion comparisons, I feel the Gen z one only works for warmer months.
Like pants... yeah, wide legs are trendy, and a straight leg helps you look longer, yet, if it is super cold and windy, you will want the pants that sit closer to your body.
The handbags... try to wear a bag that is not a crossbody with a big puffer jacket, and it will slip off constantly.

Old Navy has major issues when it comes to the extra fabric around the underarms. Unfortunately sizing down doesn’t help. 😢 It’s the cut. I just avoid dresses/shirts that have that fabric.
