It’s crazy I just used this combo yesterday due to Northern California being on fire so that I could apply my ceramic spray wax on a car I had just clayed and polished the hood and trunk it worked great as a paint prep and rinse less wash
Awesome video, thanks thanks for the explanation. Been wanting to buy this product exactly for that reason, very gentle, tons of lubrication and preps the paint. One thing I am looking for is to see if I can find someone talking about it using it as a rinse aid to minimize water spots after washing the vehicle. I think I heard Mr. Rutter talking about adding to a bucket of water to neutralize the water deposits. Thanks!!!
Hey Joe, I found another good one, American Detailers Garage fusion. Great unique product I use as a rinseless waterless wash and I put it in my foam cannon because it actually foams and cleans very well.
John Pivovarnik I will add the dilution ratios in the description. I would have posted the numerous amount of articles I have on n914 that was on the Autogeek forum, however since Autogeek is no longer a vendor for McKees all of my articles got deleted. Not too happy about that 😟
So this ratio fully replaces the need for a "panel prep" dedicated product prior to coating? Wether it's a wax n grease remover or paint prep/eraser/panel wipe/surface prep detail brand product?
I also feel slightly uneasy. I have no issues at all with the idea of using the N-914 to do the bulk of the residue removal, but I'd still want to finish with a dedicated paint prep I think.
I also use Wolfgang Uber only. Can I use the same method to wash my vehicle? I normally spray it with a pressure sprayer and use a dry towel to remove. I will use another microfiber for remnants. Thanks for your help.
That is a option not a very cost effective one. The dilution ratio for paint prep is 1:8 that’s 14oz of concentrate per gallon. So if you mix a 3 gal bucket with water to wash it that’s 42ozs of concentrate. 😬 You can mix a half oz/oz of concentrate to make a waterless wash/ clay lube. Meaning with that same 42 ozs you used in one wash bucket could of made 42 gallons of waterless wash/clay lube That’s why I use the pump sprayer at waterless ratio and spray the 1:8 mix with my spray bottle. More cost effective and gets the job done.
@@NextLevelAutoDetail wait a min the bottle cost 20 dollars for 32oz ok with that one bottle u can make 2 gals of paint prep ok and you think that’s not cost effective when a 16 oz bottle of optimum paint prep cost 12 dollars and eraser cost even more!! I mean how how cheap are you buddy lol 😂 I’m getting 500 dollars to lay a 1 year coating on 4,door sedan with a light polish how much paint prep do U think it will take to do a 4 door camery? Ur wasting time doing it the way you just showed us.. double the work it makes no sense and actually the dilution ratio on the product makes no sense either
@@cbruno12180 I honestly don’t even know where to start with a reply ? Why are you being so abrasive ? Did this video hurt your feelings ? You first stated that why don’t you wash the car with the dilution ratio at paint prep ? When I clearly do in the video, did you even watch the entire video. If you are going to be a TH-cam troll the least you can do is watch the entire video before attempting to troll. The entire premise of the video is washing it with the paint prep when a car is extra dusty/linty from a heavy correction process. I only used the pump sprayer to pre soak and use the pressurized spray to clean out jambs. I then showcase that I used the paint prep for the rest of the process? So i really don’t understand what are you arguing. I initially thought you were suggesting just putting the concentrate in a bucket and perform a traditional rinseless wash with the paint prep ratio that’s what I was explaining when I said that process isn’t cost effective. You saying I’m cheap that one 32oz bottle will make 2 gallons of paint prep makes absolutely no sense when IN THE VIDEO I CLEARLY have a gallon already mixed up. So again what exactly are you arguing here ? Just arguing to be arguing ? I’m currently polishing a 599 Ferrari and taking out the time to answer these argumentative questions that I clearly stated and showcased in this video. So what exactly are we dis agreeing on ? Lets say you didn't do a rinseless wash, and rather opted for a two bucket system w/ pressure washer. Once you washed it then compounded/polished it you could go straight into the dilution for wipe down and then coat with ceramic/wax etc?
I've been doing something kind of similar - I use a very cheap IPA solution to do the bulk of the residue removal, but finish with (expensive) CarPro Eraser. Do you really feel that N-914 does the *entire* job as well as a dedicated paint prep product?
I still use paint prep products. But when you are in a situation where the car is dirty linty and dusty from the heavy correction stages that where 914 shines. Even during the drying process you can use a few sprays of erases or a paint prep. Cleaning the car more effective and using less eraser.
@@NextLevelAutoDetail so you *do* complete the prep with a dedicated prep product? That would make sense. I got the impression from your video that you were sometimes ONLY using N-914.
@@gregsullivan7408 nope. For this specific detail I only used N-914. With detailing every job presents different challenges. What I use the work that was performed and the overall goal will always dictate what my application is. Softer paints I’m using N-914 every time no panel prep.
@@NextLevelAutoDetail ah - ok - thanks. I'd be interested in a little test - spray some N-914 solution on a surface, and let it dry, and see if it leaves any residue. A dedicated prep product (such as CarPro Eraser) will completely evaporate. If the N-914 leaves a residue, I'd be inclined to use either a dedicated prep product as the final step, or perhaps just distilled water.

Good work Joe! Love McKees Rinseless wash, extremely versatile. Great on light to medium soiled interiors too.

1gal will be 18.2 fl oz n-914 & 146 fl oz water
Great stuff Joe!

Great Video. Was the final wipe ( purple towel) damp prior to buff off or did you use it dry?
Megs D122 is thick, but easier to wipe off than N924.
Have you tried McKee’s new sio2 rinseless yet? And if so is it better than Uber?
