    Update Nov 30th 2021
    Pre-req: Icon Fitness handles warranty service for Nordictrack. They will send you parts, to diagnosis over the phone, etc... If you need a technician to come to your house, they use Assembly Experts Inc. That's the company that does the physical warranty work on location. Wanted to make sure we're clear that there are two separate companies handling Nordictrack warranty work.
    The repair technician (Assembly Experts Inc) was scheduled to come on Nov 17th. On Nov 16th, I called and emailed to verify they were still coming... no response back. On Nov 17th, I get a voicemail "sorry, we cannot come. Our technician has an infection and has to be in the hospital. We will get in touch to reschedule" I said "Ok, I understand."
    A couple days later I get an email to reschedule to Nov. 23th. I said "Ok, that day works for me". Nov. 22th comes and I call and email to confirm they are still coming and what time to expect them... no response. Nov. 23th I call and email them multiple times between 9-11am... no response. I even have the cell number of the guy who is coming to my house... goes straight to voicemail... I then call Icon Fitness and explain to them that a service tech is supposed to be at my house today but they aren't responding to me. Icon Fitness says "Ok, we are sending a message to their service coordinator and will get back to you in an hour"
    A couple hours go by and I don't hear anything from anyway, so I call Icon Fitness again. They tell me that there is nothing they can do. That we need to wait until we hear from the service tech.
    Later on Nov. 23th, I FINALLY get a voicemail from the service tech at 6:36pm. SIX-THIRTY-SIX PM!!!! telling me he is on his way and will be here in 45mins. By this time I don't see their voicemail until 8pm. I'm at work (I work from home and the treadmill is located at my home), so I decide to call back the next morning because it's too late.
    Nov 24th 9am, I call Assembly Experts back and the guy tells me "We were trying to get in touch with you all day yesterday and you wouldn't answer your phone". I'm just in shock. Like this guy is seriously a liar and is trying to turn this into being my fault. I told him off. Cause seriously, wtf!
    I then call Icon Fitness and explain to them what happened, that this guy is a liar. (His name is Jim). I send Icon Fitness copies of all the emails and phone calls I have showing that I've been trying to get in touch with them non-stop and they would never get back to me, and I ask them to send all these copies to their service coordinator to show that I'm not the problem. I then tell Icon Fitness that I'm not interested in rescheduling with Jim and that he is not welcome in my home. (I made a promise to myself many years ago that I won't let deceitful liars into my life anymore) And I asked if they had another company they could use to send out a tech or another tech to come out. They said they'd get back to me in an hour with another service company...
    That was last week, and I haven't heard back from Icon Fitness. Granted, Thanksgiving holiday happened between, but still...
    I decided I'm not going to call them back to get a tech out here. The treadmill incline is stuck in a mid-point position, but the belt still works. I put the treadmill back together and will use it like that... without an adjustable incline.
    If you want to see other stories about Assembly Experts Inc, look them up on Better Business Bureau. A bunch of terrible reviews and accusations of this company being manipulative liars.

    Hi, I fix NordicTrack treadmills. I would first make sure the wires going from the display to the lower control board are not pinched. Take it apart if you need to get a better look. Sometimes you can put the treadmill on its side and see through the bottom of the side column with a flashlight. Many times people assemble it wrong and the wires get pinched near where the screws go into the column at the bottom and the top where it joins together. This happens quite often.
    When you receive the wires you can swap it out temporarily without taking the machine apart just to see if it fixes the issue and then if it does move on from there.
    Second thing I would do is swap out the lower circuit board. Take photos of the wires so you don't plug them back in the wrong way. The LEDs on the lower circuit board you have here are not doing what they normally do and I am very familiar with the T6.5.
    If you get rid of the machine you can take it apart and put it out the day before the trash goes out. Most scrap collectors will grab it for the metal. If that doesn't work you can search for a local scrap collector and see if they want it.
    I hope you get it resolved but if you can't do it yourself you might want to just do some searches for 'Treadmill Repair' in your local area and see if you can find someone who can help. Good luck. Matt-

      All those repairs were attempted already (upright wire and controll board replacement) none fixed this issue.
      My garbage man won't take it. Their trucks have an arm that lifts our garbage cans. So they will only take garbage that fits in our cans. Anything that doesn't fit in our cans, we have to bring to the dump ourselves.

      Hi I just came across your message. I have same model and everytime I turn it on it comes on full speed and won't lower the speed. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue.

    • @MattandHolly920
      @MattandHolly920 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@azr2012 If it speeds up while you are already engaged in a workout, then there is probably a button shorted out on the console like the speed up or something. If it goes to full speed as soon as you flip on the power switch, then most likely the motor controller circuit board is bad. If the motor controller circuit board went bad and your treadmill isn't fairly new anymore then it may have gone bad from overheating so you might also need to replace the walking belt. I think the T6.5 has a pretty difficult calibration procedure for the walking belt because of how the front roller sits in a groove on the left side. If that is the case then typical walking belt replacement instructions won't really guide you through it. You'll need someone who really knows what they're doing. Hope this helps

    I have the same issues, it’ll raise all the way up but it won’t go down at all. I ended up manually lowering it but every time I would turn it back on it would raise all the way up again 🤔. So I manually lowered it again and unplugged the elevation mechanism from the main power grid. Turned it on and it stays level but the elevation won’t work, but that’s ok I don’t usually use it.

    • @vangmountain
      @vangmountain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My suggestion for you is to unplug your incline sensor from the control board. If you don't know what it is, you can ID it by looking at your incline motor. From the backside looking at the incline motor, the sensor is in the right side near the bottom. Just follow the black leads to the board and disconnected. If all is good, it should toggle up and down(raise and lower) when you depress any incline level button. So since it's stuck at 10, it will toggle between 9 and 10. If you get this response, I would take the sensor our from the motor(pop out with flat screw driver), inspect it and reinsert it. If you remain stuck, it's likely a bad sensor. Good luck!

      Sorry to hear that. I guess you're out of warranty by now too. I don't know if this helps you, but here is the link where you can order replacement parts. Since you're out of warranty, you have to figure out what you need and install it yourself though. www.iconservice.com/model/parts?modelNumber=NTL17915&version=17
      And yea, mine isn't the most sturdy either. But I figure for the price, it's acceptable. A commercial one would be more stable, but also take up more space.

  • @vangmountain
    @vangmountain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    First and foremost, there's no way anyone can just look at and determine the motor is faulty. That's your first issue. To help yourself, you cannot solely depend on them. You need to test if there's any power coming to the motor. If you have power, then yes it's likely something is wrong with the motor. As to the control board, if you don't have power to the motor, then yes, something could be wrong withe the board. Likely the control board would send a low signal to a relay which in turn will let the high voltage to the motor. If the relay has a good signal and the relay is good, then it's something with the power source or how the power source is connected to the control board. If the relay has no signal, then likely something is wrong with the board. Long story short, your issue is you are relying on someone over the phone to troubleshoot an electrical problem they likely have zero clue about. All they are doing is swapping parts hoping it will work. There's a chance none of that is the issue. These techs likely have zero electrical/electronics knowledge so there's no way they will know and you trusting them is just a waste of time. If you don't have electronics/electrical knowledge, call an electrician and they can tell you where the issue is if it's electrical which it likely is. Then you just tell them to send you what you need. Never rely on techs to troubleshoot these sort of problems. Realistically, how can they? Unless they are having you to probe with a multimeter, there is no way they will know the cause of your problem. For them, it's just a matter of reading potential solutions off some screen or tech guide and nothing more.
    I've got one on the way from Amazon so hopefully it won't have the issue you're having but if it does, I'll for sure be telling the techs whats wrong not the other way around.

    • @AltcoinXP
      @AltcoinXP  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      To blame me as the problem is absolutely wrong and horribly offensive. A company has an obligation to live up to the terms of the sale.
      It's not my responsibility to diagnose and repair the treadmill. They sold me a treadmill with a warranty. Under the assumption it will work when I receive it and they will fix it if it doesn't. Which means I paid for it to be their responsibility.
      They failed to repair the machine after 4 months of back and forth with them and schedules tech to come out who never show up and then lie about showing up. It's completely unreasonable and unfair to expect a user to be an electrical engineer and go in there with a multimeter... or to hire an electrician if they don't have that knowledge. Especially because the data sheets with voltage specs are not available to the public. And especially because Nordictrack will not reimburse any labor or expense I personally put in to figuring out what's wrong. Again, Nordictrack sold me a treadmill that was supposed to work and a warranty that was supposed to fix it if it didn't. It's their responsibility to live up to the terms of the sale. Not my responsibility to make up for their shortcomings.
      If you think diagnosing it yourself and telling them what's wrong is gonna make it go easier, it won't. They won't trust your diagnosis until they go through their own diagnosis to confirm if you're correct or not, because you have no credibility. You are not a treadmill technician, you are not an electrical engineer. And even if you are, they don't know that. And I know this is how they will react because I went through it already. You will find yourself immediately frustrated if you attempt that and expect it to be smooth sailing.
      And I totally get that if I was an electrical engineer and treadmill technician it would be easier and quicker to fix my treadmill. But I'm not making an argument about what's easier. I am making a moral argument about what's right and wrong.

    • @vangmountain
      @vangmountain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AltcoinXP My intent was not to blame you. I was merely pointing out the fact that there is no way a tech on the other line can simply look and determine the motor or the controller board is bad unless they actually have someone on your end doing the probing. In other words, the troubleshooting is just BS. The person on the other line likely has zero electrical knowledge and us just reading off a troubleshooting manual.
      My other point to you is that if your end goal is to get it "fixed" quickly and be able to use it, you will be able to do it faster and more accurately than they if you have electronics or electrical background.
      Lastly, if all you care is that they hold their end of the bargain then this is likely what you will get--lots of wasted time with zero progress.
      So no, I'm not blaming you. I'm just pointing out what you already know via experience which is that their support is pretty useless. Honestly, there is just no way to trouble shoot electronics unless you are probing it to find the real culprit. Now if it was a system that self-reported via error codes, then yes, support can troubleshoot using the codes. Absent this, there's no way but to probe with a multimeter.
      Case and point. I just got my wife's treadmill in. I bought the same one you have. It came with the electronics cover cracked on the corner, and almost fully cracked down the side, and all 3 front screw mounts completely broken off. Lastly, it was missing the cross member for the hydraulic to connect to. Amazon is sending a replacement, but my wife wanted to use it so I put it together, 3D printed repair parts for the cover. I repaired it with super glue. Now it's stronger than the original design and I was able to do all the repairs on the inside so i just have a minor blemish on the one corner and the visible crack line where it cracked like 10 inches on the side. It now safely covers the control board and the motor with a slight aesthetic blemish. Now I'm just waiting for the replacement to come in so I can get me a crossbar and if the cover isn't broken, I'll take it too and they can take everything back. If the cover on the replacement is broken also, I will keep the one I repaired and request Amazon to give me the discount they had promised. While using it this morning it went a bit awry. The belt stopped and the incline maxed out all on its own. This is NOT normal.
      Afterwards, it would not start up. I grabbed my meter and checked the outlet and checked my breakers. No breakers tripped but my outlet was only reading 99V. That tells me my outlet is bad. The wiring is fine but the contacts on the outlet are not making proper contact. I find a good outlet and plug it in. Voila, no issues.
      You have to remember that these are electrical components which are designed to function a certain way if provided certain electrical signals. If those signals fluctuate or are erratic, it can cause your equipment to malfunction. For me, the end goal is for my wife to use this machine. For this reason, I'm going to do the troubleshooting and relaying it to them if I need a part. It's on me to convince them what the issue is so they will not be wasting my time by sending replacements that are replacing perfectly fine parts, thus not addressing the real culprit. It boils down to what is important to you. For me it was getting it running so I took my own time to design and 3D print all the necessary parts and to trouble shoot if I have to.
      If you leave it to them, you may end up where you are, four months later and zero progress. So no, I'm not blaming you, but I am telling you that sometimes, if you want results, you may have to do it yourself. But if you are of the mindset that it's on them then be ready wait as you have and in the end, there may be no resolution, and possibly no refund too, just a dead treadmill they keep trying to fix by sending you replacement parts after replacement parts, none of which addresses the issue. The issue could very well just be your outlets. Of course, that's NOT to say that is your issue. I'm just saying, they will NEVER know the culprit unless there is actual diagnostics done. Hope you get yours fixed. Even though this is for my wife, I like the treadmill. It's solid and everything works as it should. The malfunction this morning is expected as the machine was getting mixed electrical signals. Best of luck to you and again, never meant to blame you. That was never the intent. The intent was to point out the obvious--support doesn't have a clue what they are doing.

      I will look at mine and see if I can diagnose what is going on with yours based on what you described. If you can write down what happened when this all occurred and detail what you see and hear when you try to start it up, that would help. I don't mind trying to give you a hand. I have the same model so know what it should be doing.

    • @vangmountain
      @vangmountain 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Please observe your machine and see what happens and describe it in detail. Your video says when you insert the key, a dark orange light comes on. That is NOT normal. Verify this is the case. NO lights should come on when you insert they key. The only lights that should be lit are the red and green LED. Once you start the treadmill, the red LED should go into blinking mode...about 4 blinks per second. If you raise the incline, you will see a light orange LED light up. This is labeled LD4 on the board. If you lower it, LD5, the dark orange LED will light up. These two LED's tell you what the incline is supposed to do. Light-orange is to rise and dark-orange is to lower. If it does as you claim(insert key and dark orange LED comes on). This tells me it's stuck in the down mode. If it is bottomed out and you hit the down button, you will get a series of beeps from the screen. This tells you it's bottomed out. NO lights should come on when you do this.There is no reason for your dark orange light to come on unless it is stuck in this command. The embedded code is expecting this variable to change from current to new before it will say the command is complete.
      Let's say u are at incline 2 and hit down arrow...it must power the motor until it reaches level 1. The level variable is stored the value 2. Until the bed angle drops enough to get to one, this variable is going to remain at 2. If this variable never changes, this code will continue to execute making it stuck in the down command. I'm just giving you an idea of what's happening. I need more info from you as to what's all happening when you insert the key.
      Do you hear anything, see anything. Look at the board and the motor. What about when you hit up? Does the dark orange light ever go off, like when you hit up to raise the incline. If it doesn't then there is a sensor keeping this embedded code looping and repeating the command to lower the incline. If the motor has never worked and still doesn't it would keep it in this mode. So always, it's trying to execute a command it has NOT completed and it's trying to do this. Until it completes this task, it's going to keep trying. Appears to be the case. Would love to hear more details from you about what you see and hear. Be very detailed and specific.

      @@AltcoinXP My best guess given what little i know about your issue is that your incline sensor is either bad or needs to be calibrated. I watched your video again and now see that you first get a light orange(raise incline) then it goes to dark orange(lower incline) then both go out. This means the system is trying to raise and then lower the incline. I also noticed the beep when you go to pressing the incline buttons. It beeps and does nothing. This tells you it is where you are trying to put it. Example, if it's at 10 and you push 10, it will beep. If at 5 and you push 5, it will beep. This is indicative of a bad incline sensor to me. NOTE TO POWER DOWN BEFORE DOING ANYTHING! You can try taking it out( goes into side of incline motor). Wipe it and reinsert. Test and if you still get the same result, unplug it from the control board. You SHOULD be able to operate the incline. Here's the catch, it will be very confused so if you click a level, it will go up one level only. If you click the next level, it will go down a level and it will just keep doing this...up one...back down one....up one back down one. If it does this, it's responding and your motor is fine. Power down and plug it back in. The reset and to calibrate it, take the incline back down to zero. This will be it's zero position. Try it and see what happens. I believe your issue is just a sensor issue. Good luck!

    Ascend treadmills are remarkable worse and more dangerous than this one. Sucks that you have to deal with NordicTrack this way.

    I should have listened to this video......
    DO NOT BUY.
    I bought one for my family for Christmas and it sounds like a WW2 fighter aircraft taking off. Unusable. And there's no way I'm gonna fix it.
    Amazon says they will take it back, we'll see how that goes.
    But yes, it is a piece of junk, and now my Christmas plans are messed up.

      Sorry to hear that. I'm on the opposite spectrum. Bought identical machine for my wife at Christmas. Solid machine. Zero issues. Only issue was delivery. It broke the top cover but i fixed it with a 3D printer and got 45% discount. It works and is as solid as all the reputable reviews say. Had one weird hiccup but that was due to improper voltage from my outlet. It is a legit buy!

      @@vangmountain Glad you had good luck with yours. Mine seemed solid but like I said, it had mechanical issues that made it crazy loud. I mean super loud, like an airplane taking off.
      Amazon took it back with little hassle. Thank god. We'd probably just be using it as a coat hanger soon. Lol.

      @@bobalmighty2925 That's definitely not normal. For that level of noise, something internal in the drive assembly must be broken or loose and is rubbing or grinding. Also could be bad bearings, but definitely, return it. It's definitely disappointing to purchase a product only to have it arrive damaged or not working properly. One sort of expects the opposite, else you wouldn't have paid for it to begin with. After having read many reviews, I took a chance on it knowing there could be broken components. I initially missed it while the delivery guys were there, but as soon as the delivery guys started pulling out, I noticed the large crack on the cover. I tried to stop them and put it back on the truck but to no avail. I even called them but I think they knew so they never picked up even though I knew that was their number because it was the number they called me with just 30 mins earlier.
      After unpacking it and seeing how it was packed and how heavy it was, I can see why cracks seem to be pretty common during delivery. The packaging they have is not sufficient to properly protect the plastic cover. If you know and handle it properly, you can avoid it, but no delivery person is going to know that unless it's specifically marked on the box how to handle it and where pressure can be applied. Without proper packaging and handling information, it's just a game of numbers. I'm glad ours has worked flawlessly so far and we put about 4-5 hours on it a day. Some days more and some less. For the price point, I don't think there are many treadmills that can compare judging by the reviews I read prior to purchasing it. If what you get isn't a lemon(sure there are some), it should be a solid machine as it's quite heavy and very sturdy.

      @@vangmountain Does yours also shake constantly on speeds greater than 3.5? Mine shakes so much. Like the bolts aren't tight. But we went through every bolt and check. I think it's bad design and needs a cross support.

    • @vangmountain

      @@Floortile83 it absolutely does not. It runs smooth and relatively quiet. I've even topped it out running at 10mph. Zero issues. You just hear the motor and drive system hum louder but nothing out of the ordinary. Vibration would be the result of an improperly balanced flywheel. The mount could be off-center or the flywheel itself could be deformed. Something in the drive system is definitely out of alignment it sounds like but I have had zero such issues. I would definitely take the cover off and give it a good one over. It's quite easy to check if it's properly centered. Good luck!
