I've had my moissanite ring for over 20 years, my husband bought it for me after 10 years of being married and not having an engagement ring. I still wear it today and it is still beautiful. Your ring is beautiful and will keep its beauty for years to come.
Kelly Pratz did you have any problems with the ring? Like did the stone ever fall out? Did the clarity stay clear? Do you have to care for it in a special way? If you get pregnant do they offer resizing?

@@Precious211 Hi, I don’t mean to intercept this question, as it wasn’t directed at me, but I know that it’s not the stone that decides if sizing can be done or not, but the band. Silver I think can only be sized once, but if you have gold or platinum, I believe that sizing is possible more often. That, of course would be up to a jeweler, but the Moissanite will be just as wonderful even if the band is resized. I hope this helps. I noticed you never got an answer to your question. 😇

I can totally relate the type A personality! I’m engaged now and I picked my engagement ring. I decided on a 9x7 oval crushed ice Moissanite with a thin gold solitaire. I don’t regret getting a Moissanite! I am absolutely in love!

I’m so happy to hear people speaking up about how amazing moissanite rings are. My wedding set is made of diamonds, but after a few kids....it doesn’t fit anymore. I did not want to spend that kind of money again, so I got a replacement ring out of Moissanite. I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s a approximate 2ct emerald cut, with approximately 1/4ct baguettes on each side. People grab my hand all all time and ask about it. I never pretend its a diamond, rather, I educate them on how great Moissanite stones are!
I so wish my husband and I had gone this route. I LOVE my diamond ring/set that he chose for me - he got the style I wanted without me having to tell him anything - but I wish he hadn’t put so much $$$ down for a “real” diamond when we could have gotten soooo much more for a moissanite. I totally get that! A few years ago I feel like a diamond was seen as really the only option! But now there are amazing alternatives all over the place and I’m just so glad we have the choice now to have a stunning ring that isn’t the same price as a down payment for a house 😩

My ring is moissanite and I freaking love it. You can get a way bigger ring for a more affordable price. It sparkles beautifully and moissanite is a 9 hardness I believe so it will last and not scratch.
I daren't tell my husband, but I prefer my moissanite solitaire to my diamond one. And it cost him $3,000. My Moissy cost 20$

Thank you for this video... it’s been a huge journey for me and my soon-to-be fiancé on finding a ring. When I saw yours I fell in love with moissanite and had been contacting so many companies to see who would be the one to make my ring. We were very close to going with Zen and I kinda had my mind made up on them till I found someone else on Etsy who had the perfect ring for me! I finally got pictures of it this morning and hopefully we’ll be receiving it next week. 🥺 Your ring is absolutely beautiful and I love that you were honest about wanting a big stone but not wanting a diamond. I am the same way, and if anyone asks if my ring is “real” I will say yes, it’s moissanite. I don’t think engagement rings HAVE to be diamonds and I am not going to lie and say mine is a diamond. You essentially got it right! It was initially discovered in its natural form in a meteor crater! Its natural occurrence is pretty rare but we're so lucky that it can be synthesized because it is hands down my favorite stone. I have several pieces, including my engagement ring and wedding band, and I love them so much. It is an incredible value!

Love it! I’m sure you know exactly what you’re doing for the band too but just wanted to warn you before getting it resized that you might want to wait until you have the band. Mine was a little bit loose when I got my engagement ring but fit perfect when I got my wedding band (which is actually a wrap which might have something to do with it as well). Love your videos!

I agree! I had a thin band (not as thin as Alyssa's), but I put two bands on mine, one on the top and bottom, and I had to get my ring sized up an entire size because it was too thick and I couldn't get it on my finger.

Im not putting down anyone here im truely not but i notice that the way people propose has totally changed.
Remember when people would just have a ring and propose and it would be a suprise.
It seems like a sign of the times that people now pick their ring and get it designed and paid for so know they will be getting a proposal and its not really a suprise.
I see so many people doing this now and i have to say it is an appealing idea. Ive bee engaged once and my partner got me a ring that just was not me at all and i hated wearing it so i do very much see the appeal of doing it this way

Okay ladies and gentlemen let me explain what is a moissanite.
Composed of Silicone Carbide this gemstone was originally found in a meteorite by Henry Moissan.
This gemstone is naturally occurring however has been found in miniscule amounts, so if someone where to purchase organic naturally occurring moissanite it would be extremely expensive and unfortunately it cannot be made into jewelry becuase its that small. HOWEVER scientists discovered how to make it in a lab! Now unlike diamonds a moissanite has no inclusions (imperfections)
They are beautiful and brilliant 👏 how ? Well on the Mohs scale of hardness (which rates the strength of a gemstone)
Moissanite is rated at a 9.25
While Diamond's are rated
as a full 10.
This means they are the worlds 2nd hardest gemstone. Aside from that they actually are more brilliant than a diamond and have a bigger refractive index, meaning their fire (light, sparkle) has a longer range.
And not to mention they give off a beautiful rainbow sparkle and shine.
While diamonds usually give off a white sparkle and shine.

I actually found a lab diamond manufacture from India who charged me only 2k for the diamond!! Best purchase ever. If not I would definitely have gone with moissy

Moissanite is an exceptional gem and it’s perfect for those that want the look of a diamond, but not have to pay such high prices. In fact, my moissanite is more brilliant than my diamonds, even when cleaned and shined. It’s outstanding!

I also got a moissanite engagement ring I've been married before so has my husband and I didn't want to have to spend a bundle on a ring I got a square brilliant with two smaller square brilliant stones on either side of the main Stone and my wedding band has four square brilliant stones in it Total Care weight overall is about 5 carats and for Christmas he bought me a three carat round moistanite I just don't see buying diamonds I have diamonds and I never wear them I love my voice tonight and you made the perfect choice gorgeous ring lady wear it in good health and happiness

Yup. Diamonds are intrinsic value. I’ve sold multiple $5-15,000 rings and jewelry for $300 or less. You can only sell for gold value- I’ve had them rip diamonds out and toss them- they’ll give them back to you if you ask.
Does this stone get cloudy like a sapphire would?
Moissanite does not become cloudy over time, just needs to be cleaned like a diamond ring. 😊

It is beautiful but I will never understand how some of you ladies wear something so large on your finger lol. I’m more into a detailed, intricate band. Mine is kind of an infinity design band in white gold but has rose gold accent pieces on it in the shape of roses. It does have some small diamonds on the band (mostly the actual wedding band) but the main stone is a princess cut moissanite 6mm which is the equivalent to 1.3K if one were to get a similarly cut diamond.
Honestly, it was bigger than I thought it was going to be when it arrived! That’s already going to be an adjustment to me! Lol!
I’m sure the bands(s) influence that a lot though. You can have a bigger (huge) stone, but it won’t feel as heavy with a simple band.
Still though…don’t think I could do it personally.

Let me help anyone wanting a diamond. Go to a fine jeweler, a family owned jewelry store not a chain. Walk in say you want (let's go round, round looks bigger. Tell them you want VS2 or better, DEF color .75 to .90 it will look like one carat and be so beautiful it's all you'll see. The stone should cost around 3500 4550 depending. The setting on an 18k with not large elaborate setting are around 900 to 1300 and don't pay more

My husband wanted to get me a diamond for our engagement, I asked for a moissanite. It's a 1ct equivalent oval, on a platinum band. I loved it, 14 years ago and still do. It's one of the original (called classic moissanite now) and it does have a greenish tint in some natural light. It's a bummer, and I don't wear it on cloudy days. Anyway, I have a forever one, which needs to be set; I may ask for it to be done as a Christmas gift this year.

For our 10 year wedding anniversary, in 2016, he got me an amazing 1.25 ct round natural diamond with a beautiful halo. Like you said, diamonds have very LOW re-sale value. We purchased the ring on Ebay (pre-owned) for $1,600. I had it appraised for insurance purposes; it appraised for $11K. Please try to purchase estate or pre-owned when possible, it saves you SO MUCH money. I love being able to change up my look, so to speak.

I didn't! I was advised that once you add your wedding band your rings fit a bit tighter and that was right! Now my rings fit perfectly and I would've been SOL if I got the engagement ring sized smaller.

My oval is a demi with hidden halo like yours with a 2.5 ct moissanite in super premium colorless for 1650 for gem alone, the one you have looks an awful like a brilliant earth ring... lol thats who we went through.

From what I understand Moissanite came from a meteor so it’s not something that originated from earth like a diamond. But because the occurrences is rare there is not enough moissanite on earth so it is created in a lab. So it is “real” moisssanite just not from space anymore more

Exactly, just like how lab diamonds are diamonds, just created in a plasma chamber or similar means to create them.
