greetings from Australia, Poland first to fight. Lost independence couple times, but the magnificient people of this Great Central European nation brought it back from the dust. No Marshall's dollars nor soviet ruble, but the will of people. 2019 is the first year when Poland is considered to be First World Country. Give them Poles 50 more years of prosperity and entire World will be copying them. Strong values, honesty and patriotism. That is what I think of Poland.

@@yurimolotov3355 Well, I can see that you are perhaps just a lad trying his hate speech. Cannot objectively agree with your points then as you are filled with racism and some sort of nationalism, still using some russian or whatever nick name.
      1) Poland is EU, Poland is not receiving money from external country such USA used to loan money to sovereign countries. EU has internal policies for underdeveloped parts with high prospect of being successful, this is what has happened in Poland. German donations? What do you mean? No country in EU donate money, they pay in into common budget and then vote how they spend the budget. Germany or other countries pay in more, but they get access to labour or cheap investment land such Poland is/was, in return.. What is wrong with that? Hardly somebody can compete with German industry around the world, why Poland would be any different? It is better to be united and collaborate rather than compete with own neighbour.
      2) Poland has a number of own brands and companies, I know one called KGHM that actually bought shares in most mines in Australia. Not bragging about their companies as most are local for Central Europe, however the foreign investment comes to Poland due to resources, skilled labour and infrastructure. Whoever in Australia see badge "Made in Poland" thinks about good quality, comaprable to German or French. You cannot compare Mexico that has the US and whole South America with its 130-140 mln population with 38.5mln Poles. It is like saying that China is doing something wrong for being global leader in manufacturing and having no internationally recognised brands - you may be right, but what are worth brands without chinese manufacturing?
      3) Yes, patriotism in Poland is alive and 1-2 mln people who left the country since accession to the EU does not make much difference. They are in their political geosphere, EU is Poland, Poland is EU.. There is freedom of movement and settling wherever they want, there is no surprise if you can move freely somewhere where you have good job that you will pack yourself and go. Most people from Queensland moved to Victoria recently due to shorts in jobs up there, so what should we call them something bad as Victorians are different state? In most EU countries there are minorities of other nations and I guess that Poland is nothing different to Germans or French.
      4) Your last point is rather racist and I would say that pretty silly in a sense, you just bragged about minorities of Poland in other countries and listed other immigrants in UK. To give you contrast, we have in Australia the largest diaspora of British people among any other nations, we have plenty of Norwegian, German and French backpackers and Italians or Greeks, similarly immigrant women were more likely staying with local men due to stability and prosperity. There are even jokes about German backpackers coming to Oz to find husbands. I do not find it any different than other nations do and you still compare some Polish immigrants in UK, not Polish women in Poland. You also mix things, historically and geographically Poland is Central Europe and always have been, they have nothing in common with Eastern Europe as bolsheviks and soviets tried to persuade for 50 years. You talk more about countries such Russia or Ukraine where local non-immigrant women are likely to get married with on-line met, old sugar daddies and they not only dump boyfriends, but husbands with kids because most of Eastern non-EU men cannot support their own families. I would say that only lowest low of the society in Poland would do such thing, but it would be something that you can find in America, Canada, Australia or your beloved Germany as well.
Stay positive, support Poland and help fellow Polish people to become strong instead of supporting old WW2 powers. It is the time for Poland to become world power.

Lata pięćdziesiąte a właściwie czasy Gomułki tzw. mała stabilizacja to początek jakichś tam przemian, migracji ludności, budowy przemysłu, zmian w kulturze i sztuce, wzornictwie, w polityce społecznej, budowa mieszkań, to też początek konsumpcjonizmu.

In WW2 Poland was betrayed and abused by the western powers. They held long speeches, but eventually the Poles had to wait for Stalin's soldiers to get liberated from the Nazis. There was nobody else to do it. History is not Black and White but a complicated prodedure of causalities. The new Poland is a compromise with Gierek and Gomulka making a first start after total destruction. If today's Polish propagandists like it or not !

Look at the father of the family. Clean shaved, fresh haircut, and beautiful white shirt to work. That wasn't the everyday look! When my father got such shirt (sewn by his aunt) in those times all village was admiring it, he told me that.

@Dela Flowers I am 20 and very interested in history!
I guess that's why this video appeared in my recommendations😁
Poland is almost an industrialized country today.
However in Silesia (south) of Poland there are still large country areas, with just little villages that still look like 1950s.
I saw a little monastery town where my Grandma was baptised!!
My family and I visited the Church!
It was apparebtly unchanged from 1940s but in very good condition!
Amazing to see so many young people there in a monastery school.
I saw young students drilled in military uniforms in the backyard of this little town.
      Fascinating.
Obviously the rural areas have preserved some of their traditionalist ways.
It is pure country land !
Krakow for example is ofc very diffefent

American general George Patton, bless his soul, thought that America is making a grave error and spoke against it publicly. He has seen himself what Russians did in Poland and all around. They started the war as allies to Germany and now America was supposed to ally with then. Patton thought that America should invade Russia and push them back to free the states they are occupying. Few people know that during the transformation of the political system in 1989 most of the polish industry which is shown here was sold for barely nothing to foreign private owners by 'our' politicians which rule up to this day and get praise from everyone for making poland a highly developed democratic country. It developed obviously but into a state which has nearly no heavy industry with collapsing agriculture and a service dominated economy. A dependant servant country for the rest of the EU with cheap labor who emigrate in masses.

If you compare Poland in the 1950s to other communist countries in that time for example Russia, China, Mongolia or Kazakhstan you’ll quickly learn that in the communist block Poland was considered a rich country. I wouldn’t call it rich but certainly it wasn’t poor. It was behind the west but it was ahead of the east. Even after ww2 when most of the country was destroyed Poland produced 4 times the food that was necessary to feed the country. It was never poor. Today it is the west that is in decline and the east that is on the rise. Times change.

Poland, a country with several large cities, was largely rural/agricultural in the 20th century. In 1939, at the onset of WWII, city life for most Poles was one of no indoor plumbing, no electricity, no telephones. Cooking and heating provided by coal. Water obtained and carried home from a communal street water pump. Back of residential buildings had courtyards used as gathering places for adults and playgrounds for children. As well as serving as the location for community outhouses. Poland, well into the 20th century was unable to embrace the modern era.

Everyone complains about "communism" times (in fact it was socialism) and what an irony that we had our coal, factories and, for example, inland navigation in use (as we can see in movie). Today, Poland imports coal from Chile or Russia, although Poland has huge resources of coal.
During the times of the Polish People's Republic the most Poles in history were born (during the times of Gierek, i.e. the best period of the People's Republic of Poland above all) and now we are dying and social benefis gives nothing - let it be the answer to some people's regrets.
