Definitely invest in good quality tools. My husband bought a pair of Japanese steel hair shears and they are sharp, plus he keeps the blades sharp using a flat hone. My husband has been cutting my hair for me for years and he does such a great job that my best friend and my mom have him give them their haircuts. I have saved thousands by ditching the salon.

After watching the series called Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on Acorn TV, which featured gorgeous styles from the Roaring 20s, I was convinced I would look just like the star Essie Davis with my hair in a short bob. NOT!!! I actually wound up looking like "Hey Arnold" with a sideways football head. Yikes! (My hair is thick and coarse, so it pouffed out at the sides!) The fact that I also wear glasses with black frames, everything was horizontal -- bangs, the sides of my head, my glasses. HAHAHA What a mess!
It is so true that every time, I decide to cut my hair it looks good too. lol

You were kinda leaning your head forward when he was cutting which give it a bit of a ledge that gets longer towards the nape of the neck it’s turned out good though :)

Your hair is not fine. Just regular thickness I guess. If it were, you would immediately look like you were electrified after using a razor on your DRY hair. You should not use razors without wetting your hair first. Even though it does not damage your hair as much as someone with fine hair it still damages.
