Thanks so much. I really enjoyed this project and will probably revisit this! As there were several other examples of these kinds of fortifications that I could build.

Those are nice, though I would 100%have cheated, and not had rocks at the bottom of the box that can't be seen anyway.
I think some of those improvised deffences would look good with tents. Actually, even without those deffences, I vote you do a log cutter camp. I mean, if there is a chance of them being drunk when attacked, they should also sometimes be in their own camps, crawling out of tents, or been having rum just outside their tents when the attack commences, and thus should still be among them.
Also trappers etc would have camps to be raided in Fire on the Frontier. As such, I am thinking your collection needs some tents made on video, and a combination of trapper and logging odds and sods pieces.

Do you just stick the foam rocks in a coffee can to shake up, or is there something in the can that helps smooth everything for the rock finish?

In the Coffee Tin I put different sized real rocks that are as jagged as possible. Over time these rock will become to dull and you will have to replace them. I shake all my foam pieces in the Tin with the rocks for about two to three minutes for small pieces and 3 to 4 min for larger ones.
