Chinese New year is a festival where both adults and children celebrate and wish for good fortune.

Lion and dragon dance in malls are very well successful in drawing the crowds. These are hired by mall owners as they believe good fortune will come. There are many young children sitting on their daddy's shoulders to watch. This is good for family day out at the malls.
This performance, and the one in your previous video, were amazing, and must have needed hundreds of hours of practice, plus a lot of courage. You did well to film your video so well with all those phones in the way!
These pilots are a unique breed. They have to be skilful, precise and have great teamwork. They need to have super memory to remember every sequence. I always admire them.
I used my professional video camera and accessories (6kg) with my professional heavy duty tripod with fluid head (7kg). I had to be there 2 hrs early to grab the best position available and stand in the hot sun for the 1.5 hrs show. I was there twice - for the Media Preview day and the 1st Trade Visitor day. I became sick after the 2 days in the hot sun. Hope I can recover by Friday to film the Chingay Parade.

High Pole lion dance is the default now. Standards have gone up. The not so popular teams are improving. This Wenyang is one of the better teams.
