The shield will stop the centipedes spit. For the Monolophosaus . For the spiders, you need the shield to tame the female then use the female to tame the male.
Just want to let you know cause I don't see anyone mentioning it, but the Monolophosaurus actually doesnt have an oxygen stat and is meant to be a caving alternative

If you're talking about the jumping spiders, I'm pretty sure it's the other way around, you kill them to get the iridescent chitin, make the shield and the mashed bug thing for the spiders, use the shield and mashed bugs to tame a male spider, then use the male spider and the mashed bugs to tame the female, this is all if I remember correctly from the Svartlehiem series Axe is doing

You are of the level (33:32) for the Harpoon tranq, Dunkleo taming time. There really aren't to many videos of roaming tamed Dunkleosteus videos out there. I'm looking forward to it! ^_^
I agree, and dunkles are way better than people think. As long as you don’t try to fight like 10 megs at once and you single out the sharks so you avoid the pack boost a dunkle can easily deal with almost anything in the ocean except high level mosas and tusos. Plus It only gathers useful things, and while flint is useful you just don’t need it in the same amounts as stone and metal which the dunkle only gathers so it’s more weight efficient
Dunk also got weight reductions, and are very healthy even low level tames. If they had better stamina they would be a very contested tame I think, but they're kind of meh especially if they're not X- variant
The Monoloph doesn’t turn alpha but it does get the bug killer buff that the sloth gets. The shield on their saddle prevents arthro spit from breaking your armor. Hard to see through on first person view though. They make great caving mounts, especially with their bug buff 😊

Pro Tip. Build a behemoth gate trap right in front of the deep sea bubble, kite what you want to tame inside it, then stand inside the bubble and shoot it with darts from a longneck.
Monolophosaurus are great tames to use as cave creatures. The shield protects you from the Arthro spit and they have a bug buff like the Megatherium. I would use the Mono or a Baryonyx for the caves on The Center.

Hey if you still need water tames especially gathering creatures i highly recommend The Sunken World (TSW) additions! It adds a bunch of life to the seas. - Extra environmental fish - henodus: a early-mid game turtle creature that functions as raft. It can even bury underwater and act as a little underwater base. It gives oxygen too! Good for gathering fiber and berries from water plants. - Sphyrna: a skittish hammerhead shark. It has a smithy saddle and works as an aquatic doedic while the dunkleosteus works as an anky. They can also detect metal! - anomalocaris: it doesn't conflict with Garuga's. Its a underwater only shoulder pet that acts as a primitive oxygen tank. There are more creatures and more to come. But id like to let you discover them yourself through the engrams, research, and exploring. Its a really good mod that deserves some love. The project aims at TLCing the ocean with tons of content on its unique map of the same name. But for now we get to see the wonderful creatures on other maps

I got Ark'd by an Alpha Leed as well. I was moving my base from the redwoods in the South eastern part of the map to the other side 7500M away. Went all the way around the left side to avoid open ocean, and in the last 1000Ms it was all only open ocean when he two shot my boat with all my stuff in storage boxs and a Smithy with a bunch of Cryo'd Dinos in it.
In order to hide the Gecko UI you could try pressing Ctrl + Add (from numpad keyboard). It is the shortcut to hide the new UI shown on the Shasta and Rhynio
Syntac!! Check your cosmetic tab to see if the captains hat is in there! Also the male spiders are the brightly colored ones to attract the female. The females seem to be more drab like actual jumping spiders.

I believe Axe is using the same mod on his Svatlhym series. Dinos can spawn as alpha versions of themselves but are able to be tamed. Basically their just bigger versions of the base dino with increased stats. Pretty sure regular alphas are also effected by it so watch out for that.
Unless you’re wanting the aesthetic of the stone, with how safe that island appears, you could make everything out of thatch/wood and use the skins to change how they look.
The spider shield is how to tame them. You use it to get close to a male spider to feed it I think. The male is used to get the female by dancing in the spider. Ax had a great video on it
I'd love to see a dunkly get tamed, they're so useful for stone and oil but always get passed up on for doedics and ankys because they're water tames and slightly less efficient
Syntac, theres small green seaweed things near the shore in the ocean and I think the river that is amazing for fiber, especially with a sickle. I'm just now getting caught up on the series and its been so painful watching and realizing you don't know about them. They are on the island as well.
The Thorax Spiders do have sexual dimorphism, cyrus had a poll for that one. Basically, you need an iridescent shield for a female first, then you can tame a male. Also, when breeding, you almost always get twins or triplets.

Great video ❤. Also, I highly recommend taming a Diamantinasaurus when reaching level 85 it's really good with everything and he can get 75% weight reduction can make med brews and is a good stone,metal,wood and meat gatherer and on top of that is op with fighting only problem is that he is slow.
A dunklo would be a good farmer for resources but honestly the doed is a fast swimmer and holds it's oxygen well. I have used the doed under water to farm many times before

yo syntac if you want to tame a dunkleo and not have to make an absurd amount of tranq harpoons you should tame an anomalocaris, it has an ability that applies torpor and it's ability can also be leveled to apply even more torpor, this can eventually get to a point where you could tranq most creatures in the ocean
Hey Syntac just thought I'd tell you that if you put the Mono-Bile into the inventory of the tamed Mono it gets a buff, I think poison can't remember exactly

I like the anticlimatic death of the Alpha Leedsichthys being slain less than a minute and a half into the video.
Always spawning at lvl 1 really hurts there health pool compared to other alphas.
It's there to make you feel good taking down any alpha, or lull you into a false sense of security because you killed the biggest alpha

The mono also gains a buff when you put some of the toxins in its inventory and axe said you can spit afterwards although I never tried it

That’s why their wasn’t any spawns in there when evo went in. Axe went thru long ago and I knew they def would have spawned in.

if feed it it's bile it'll do extra dmg, it might also have a spit ability after eating the bile idk

the spiders are bugged, you gotta knock them out and let them wake up for them to be on the ground. which not how it is is supposed to work.

Alpha Monos spawn just like any other alpha. People commenting on the other episode just thought the alpha was a regular one with the bug rage buff.
