Lila Rose is right: Trump and Vance have abandoned their principles and have failed to protect the common good. Although many pro-lifers will still choose to support Trump and Vance, the question remains: What is the long-term plan here? The Republican Party is not the Catholic Church, and that means that lay Catholics need to continue to organize and think about their vocational calling in light of the Gospel message that God has made Christ king of the world and has given him all earthly authority (Matthew 28:18). What Trump and the GOP platform has done is make it clear what we've known all along, namely, that the future of America needs Jesus Christ and the Catholic laity now more than ever.
