I love how Doug comes running to Ste to see if he's ok and Ste just leaves with Brendan. That says everything I need to know about Ste's feelings for Doug.
Walker is Sick, using a innocent kid to get revenge. He blames Brenden for his brother's death when he should be blaming his brother. If Brenden did not sell the drugs to him, he would have got it somewhere else. And his brother was the one who took the drugs.
I know. You're absolutely right. I just can't hold my tongue when it comes to Stendan. I have confidence and faith that good storytelling will prevail.
Ok, Ste and Doug are together now for 4 month or something, why can they not just be happy, they have problems all the time: 1. the coming-out of Dougie 2. trouble with the first sex, 3. lend much money from the evil ex boyfriend 4. a new landlord whos disturbing all the time 5. ste's kids are gone 6. a fake weeding 7. a real engangment 8. a killer who wants kill ste because of the ex boyfriend 9. a death best mate hm, no idea how they even found time to run the deli....
Now note how Ste leaves doug by himself again to go after Brendan ( at 2:50) same thing happend when lynsey died nd ste hugged brendan but left doug by himself. the end of stug is inevitable.
Steven relationship with Doug will never be the same now, Steven will forever think about Brendan, and the fact that he saved his life. Brendan literally put himself in front of Walker and the gun, so he could shoot him, not Steven, and you know what they say! Once you save the life of someone, they belong to you forever. As for Riley, I hope he didn't die, but oh well!
Riley Costello. He doesn't have much to do with Brendan's storyline. He had a baby with Mercedes McQueen and a love triangle with him-Mercedes-Mitzeee. His mother was accidentally killed by his grandfather (Silas the serial killer). He's best friends with Doug and they used to share a flat (with others). That's pretty much it for how he relates to Brendan's plot.
Well, I was in ICU, for 7 weeks & a coma for 3 weeks and during the whole time, both friends and family were allowed in-they didn't even tell people 2 leave if there were a lot. I was only in a regular room for 2 days before I got out & there were no restrictions there either. And this is a big, well known Hospital. My boyfriend was even with me while I was waking up after an operation. The only time he wasn't allowed in was when they were restarting my heart.
I agree with you and I freaking love Brendan Brady but if I was Doug I would probably have done the same thing. People hate Doug for no other reason than Stendan: YES! Stug: NO!
I agree-, it's not like what Walker is doing to Declan. Cam had a choice. But I do wish Brendan hadn't said something like "it's because I killed his brother". I don't want Ste to think that, or anyone else. Ste already was angry already here at Brendan since Brendan knew W was a cop and he said B didn't do anything about it. Oh I hope Ste doesn't hold it against the man who saved his life and forgive the man who almost got him killed & maybe Declan too. And B was willing 2 die 4 Ste. :(
True. Sometimes, people injure themselves more because of this. Walking on broken legs and misplacing the bone which can lead to infection. It doesn't mean he healed, it means he is not focusing on it. I have done that myself and regretted it big time later.
"the operation was set by walker not because the police force suspected brendan" Doug neither knows this nor has any reason to suspect it. I don't think he's a criminal syndicate head or anything. But when your own sister has repeatedly warned people away from you because you're dangerous, it's not that big of a stretch for others to think you capable of the kind of behavior that would have an undercover cop--who was initially sanctioned--after you, regardless of who knows what about specifics.
Seriously guys calm down. It was just a hug. Doug's best friend died, did you expect Ste to just stand there and stare at him while he cried? I'm against posting spoilers, but I have read some and I know for a fact (100% positive) that things are going to be better for us Stendan shippers and Stug might be in trouble. Don't abandon ship yet! Please! Have faith.
There is a great chance though. I know we've been fooled and teased before by spoilers and it feels like we've been strung along forever... but there have been tweets and interviews recently that indicate that Stendan isn't over. Since this spoiler isn't specific I guess it's okay to say that the producer tweeted that October and November will be amazing for Stendan! :D
Yes, As I recall, Walker came on to Brendan, who thought it was consensual, which it was, even if Walker was only doing it to get closer to Brendan. & as Brendan said later- He took one for the team.
This comment is also ironic because in this very episode Doug literally hid behind Ste when Brendan was going off on him. Yeah he sure seems eager to put himself in harm's way.
I can't imagine that Walker is going to stop before he tries to torture Cheryl too. Oh, poor Doug. He has to live with the fact that he had something to do with this happening to Riley. *shakes head* I'm still in shock. >:(
The blame does go on one person here. I love how the irony of this all is that the person Brendan did not hurt directly is the one that he burnt the most. I mean it is Brendan fault why this whole happen (in the sense he's the one burnt Walker) but they all played apart in walker's plan. Collateral damage they call it.
I can not stop watching EJS's scenes...Love the character of Brendan Brady or hate him there is no doubt that EJS is an incredible actor! If you don't agree...too bad ...you are just in denial! (joking, don't SPAM me on the last remark)
I like Doug. I believe he is justified in his insecurities about Ste & Brendan. Ste would try to convince Doug nothing is between him and Brendan, but always seems to be in Brendan's corner. Plus Brendan was involved too much in their lives. With Doug having to see Brendan everyday, Brendan owning their loan and apartment, that would drive anyone nuts.
That's fair, but she clearly thought there was something there, which is why she let the thing start and then get as far as it did (before W went rogue). More to the point, Brendan seems written such that nobody would be surprised to hear that the law was hunting him.
Cheryl clearly grasps something because she has repeatedly said Brendan is dangerous and a bad influence around people (especially kids). I don't know that she thought him capable of murder, but she certainly knows he's beaten people and nearly gotten others killed. They (the show's writers) also keep Brendan's broad criminal activity pretty murky, so it's not clear what his full reputation is supposed to be, beyond "dangerous bad boy". But Doug is clearly paranoid and needs to cut that out.
I know-I used 2 get into arguments, & when they went on too long, I just found it was 2 negative & time consuming-esp. since after I'll post them, I'll see all these errors, have 2 remove it, correct them, and still when I post it again letters will pop up like I misspelled & I hate that, but just leave it, so usually post if it's easy, and am trying to post shorter ones. Even this is 2 long. LOL
But Amy was the only one (outside the Brady household) who doubted Brendan's guilt. And that was in large part because she had such close, personal contact with him through Ste (who certainly did believe it) and is a pretty clever girl. I don't think Doug is written as particularly clever. He's certainly not dumb, but he's also not clever (neither is Ste, for that matter), especially when jealous. If Brendan were arrested tomorrow for murder, I doubt many would be shocked or thinking him set up.
Yes, my inclination would have been to obey the law too but that inclination would have changed as soon as the undercover cop told me that I was his only backup LOL. Umm I'm a civilian and I'm your only backup. A light should have gone on right there!
It's too early to tell. Ste was just consoling him about Riley. We don't know what Walker might do after this. Once they start talking about Doug's involvement, it might really put a wedge between them. And if it's true about Riley, I doubt Doug could handle knowing that he was a part of that.
My point is Doug isn't the bad guy here, and Ste shouldn't be mad at him for trying to do the right thing (albeit for partially selfish reasons). Also, Ste isn't in a position to talk about keeping secrets.
Are you kidding me? On top of everything else he gets blamed for, now it's totally Brendan's fault that baby Bobby has one deceased parent and one crazy one? No, Walker had nothing to do with any of it. I just can't with you Brendan haters anymore... why don't we blame him for every disease and war as well.
I wish it wasn't said repeatedly in this episode that Brendan killed Walker's brother. The other characters probably think it was a callous murder instead of an accidental drug overdose :/ No one killed Cam but the drugs he ingested, which was his choice.
*Bren and Ste* really good couple in this epi. they obviously know each other very well like always ...but is ste in shock enough not to understand why bren stand in front of him for protection and choose die in place of him oh come on Ste you surely know the reason
It's a very callous comment to say that Brendan would do that to Walker. He didn't intentionally rape him for punishment. He was hurting and was using sex to cover the pain. It was aggressive because he was upset. But he thought it was consensual. He wouldn't use sex as a form of torture in this situation. Now murder, that's another story. Walker is NOT safe while Brendan is still alive.
Sending Brendan to jail is only possible because Brendan is a career criminal who has done oh-so-many things for which he deserves to be in jail. Doug knows this and has been personally victimized by Brendan. Even if Ste wouldn't want Brendan in jail, he does deserve to be there. He's a great character and wonderfully entertaining villain protagonist of sorts, and he's capable of great feats of compassion, if you can call it that, for the people he cares about. But he's not a good person.
I was on tumblr just now and I saw comments like "I hate brendan" and "could brendan just die". And I'm thinking, really? Like really? Wat did he do wrong? Not allow Ste die? Save his son? Stop a psycho lunatic? Some ppl just don't think. I mean, just cuz u ship slug doesn't mean everything that happens on the show is Brendan being a bad person. Come on guys, soap opera, not real. Stop the hate!!!
Amy knew much more about Brendan than Doug because they interacted a lot on a personal level when Ste was with him. Doug didn't have that. His only interaction was as an amusing errand boy for Brendan who later became the lover of Brendan's ex. I don't think Doug knows anything about Brendan but that he's a bad guy and used to date Ste. Also, like Ste, Doug is kinda dumb, and that matters for his characterization.
Doug would probably piss himself before putting himself in front of a gun. It's ridiculous to state it as fact that Doug would sacrifice his life for Ste when we don't know for certain he would. But one thing is certain, Brendan would and did. For the last time Stendan shippers don't support DV. We want Stendan without the violence, with Brendan as a changed man (and he's changed a lot since he's come out of the closet). And real nice calling us all idiots...
the fact is that doug is probably gonna act all saint-like and no even take the blame. At least if he owns up to working with Walker and apologizes then maybe I will forgive him. The thing though is that if Declan doesn't make it out okay then Doug better run for his life because Walker won't be the only Brendan goes after.
Doug knows that Brendan is a major criminal. Heck, Cheryl doesn't even deal with Brendan's criminality, but she grasped that he's a repeat and ongoing offender well before the Mick situation. If an undercover cop was trying to take Brendan down, it would be because Brendan was a bad enough person to warrant it. Yes, Doug, Ste, & others have done bad. Yes, Doug is inspired by jealousy. But helping a cop arrest Brendan is only possible because he's a terrible person, regardless of what Ste wants
Doug wanted to take Brendan down because Brendan is a bad person who has given Doug--and others--ample reason to want him in jail, which is where Doug thought this was going. I can't speak for you, but my inclination is to obey the law when they're trying to put bad people in jail. That Doug is personally invested in Brendan's arrest in no way lessens Brendan's deserving to be in jail, and it's unfortunate that he was lied to by an actual undercover cop. But that wasn't his fault.
I'm so glad they didn't go the cheap way out of having Ste reject Doug for helping Walker. Doug didn't do anything wrong here; he was taking orders from an undercover cop, and I'm glad Ste gets that. This mess, like so many others in Brendan's screwed up life, is Brendan's fault. I hope this episode reaffirms once and for all for Ste that he has no romantic future with Brendan. I'm looking forward to more great moments with Stug.
Ok, Doug did this because he wanted Brendan gone. Granted. I'll even concede that he probably should have told Ste. (Not sure I agree with this, but I'll concede for argument's sake.) This is about more than Ste's life. Brendan is dangerous. That's why cops are after him. In that sense, what Ste wants is immaterial. But Doug is not the bad guy for helping a cop arrest a criminal. He had painfully conflicted motives, and Walker turned out to be crazy, but the bad guys are Brendan and Walker.
Great episode, but I'm so conflicted. Brendan saved Ste and it looks like sweet Declan is going to be okay. But I hate it when a soap kills off a character, and a stray bullet is even worse; it's so haphazard, undeserved, and inglorious. Farewell Riley (Rob Norbury).
What lydia13031996 said is correct about Doug's reasons for helping Walker. Since Doug views Brendan as a thug and criminal and Walker proved that he is a cop, it was easy for Doug to believe the things Walker was saying. So Doug trusted Walker easily. Honestly, I can't see anyone acting any different from Doug knowing the facts he had.
I'm with you there. But the issue, is what to do about it. Clearly, Doug was motivated by wanting Brendan gone. But I can imagine a more impartial ordinary guy obeying Walker because, heck, who knows what undercover cops do? Of course, this is a soap, and soaps can be silly, but real life people also do ridiculous things. We should also remember that Doug didn't have nearly as much reason to be suspicious of Walker as we did, & it made perfect sense that legit cops would be after Brendan.
Now the big Question is.... What will doug do? He lost his best friend and he sees red when he looks at brendan. I hope doug directs his anger toward Walker and not brendan. And Now that Declan has been injured, i know Ste had a soft spot for brendans son. there is no way ste will be able to walk away from him now. And... we know Ste, Brendan, and Walkers fingerprints are on the weapon. Doug won't be able to get justice for his friend without sending his fiance to jail.
Cheryl has said on multiple occasions before this that Brendan is dangerous or a bad influence and that people should stay away from him. Off the top of my head, she's said it to Ste (before Doug was ever in the picture) a few times and to or about Joel and Declan. Cheryl has had multiple moments of being disgusted with Brendan and then coming back. The Mick thing might be the last straw, though.
that's true but I watch the whole show and I love it. so far I been enjoying the storylines but I agree. also they have had some really good stories and it's always bias regardless like 2009 (if I am correct) they won nothing and I was really shock and now it just seems like a pattern. i think its more so the consistency is what affects it and yes some stories have not been great but so far i have enjoyed most of it. they deserve some credit. i;m glad Emmett won it for Oaks.
jeah, but why can not just happend something good to them... like... Doug wins a million pound in the lottery, buy the "chez chez" and make brendan to his slave... haha
I love how Doug comes running to Ste to see if he's ok and Ste just leaves with Brendan. That says everything I need to know about Ste's feelings for Doug.
I love that hug at the end... "we both messed up.. but we're alive"
Brendan to Ste "you drive", Brendan to Doug "you remember the address"!!!
well Brendan's made one hell of a speedy recovery
So now we know two things 1. BB has killed for Steven and 2. BB would die for Steven, I haven't seen Doug do anything but make a sandwich.
Walker is Sick, using a innocent kid to get revenge. He blames Brenden for his brother's death when he should be blaming his brother. If Brenden did not sell the drugs to him, he would have got it somewhere else. And his brother was the one who took the drugs.
"5:03 to 7:22 award winning performance from Emmett Scanlan
I know. You're absolutely right. I just can't hold my tongue when it comes to Stendan. I have confidence and faith that good storytelling will prevail.

Ok, Ste and Doug are together now for 4 month or something, why can they not just be happy, they have problems all the time:
1. the coming-out of Dougie
2. trouble with the first sex,
3. lend much money from the evil ex boyfriend
4. a new landlord whos disturbing all the time
5. ste's kids are gone
6. a fake weeding
7. a real engangment
8. a killer who wants kill ste because of the ex boyfriend
9. a death best mate
hm, no idea how they even found time to run the deli....
The irony that Declan might survive is because Doug helped Walker
"Hollyoaks"! Best Soap ever! Brendan Brady! Greatest character ever!
Now note how Ste leaves doug by himself again to go after Brendan ( at 2:50) same thing happend when lynsey died nd ste hugged brendan but left doug by himself. the end of stug is inevitable.

As for Riley, I hope he didn't die, but oh well!
After he had to chop the body up he looked like he hated doing it when he was washing up. Besides-Joel let the rope slip & Walker killed Mick. End of.
Omg this shit is intense.
Oh poor Riley, Mitzeee, and Bobby. They were going to be a happy family and now Riley's gone. So sad...
I have to say, Jay Duffy didn't say a word and he was amazing.this boy is going to be pretty amazing actor.
I KNOW RIGHT!! I was like damn its been over a month now and I haven't had any complains, must be another world.
Oh, we already miss you, guys! Send us a postcard from Ireland!:P
I agree with you and I freaking love Brendan Brady but if I was Doug I would probably have done the same thing. People hate Doug for no other reason than Stendan: YES! Stug: NO!

Yea, Brendan even tried to get Walker to kill him at his home by taunting Walker, to save Ste. But Ste will probably never know that......
lol i agree but same time when you are not focus on your pain you will able to do anything regardless.
True. Sometimes, people injure themselves more because of this. Walking on broken legs and misplacing the bone which can lead to infection. It doesn't mean he healed, it means he is not focusing on it. I have done that myself and regretted it big time later.
Being Spammed has become a Badge of Honor now 2 me LOL
"the operation was set by walker not because the police force suspected brendan"
Doug neither knows this nor has any reason to suspect it.
Please! Have faith.
LOL Doug is so lucky Ste was the one blocking him, Brendan would have tear him to pieces.
Yeah he looked so demented and scary. *shudder*
LMAO! I actually like Doug a lot (well more so pre-Stug), but the guy doesn't strike me as the heroic and fearless type.
I can't imagine that Walker is going to stop before he tries to torture Cheryl too.
Oh, poor Doug. He has to live with the fact that he had something to do with this happening to Riley. *shakes head* I'm still in shock. >:(
LMAO! I will be going through those stages with you. I definitely don't see myself watching if there is no dance between Ste and Brendan.
You've been on a roll!
Have you ever heard of something called sarcasm? Silly goose !
Maybe because Doug isn't a criminal who inadvertently puts Ste in danger of his life all the time....
The blame does go on one person here. I love how the irony of this all is that the person Brendan did not hurt directly is the one that he burnt the most. I mean it is Brendan fault why this whole happen (in the sense he's the one burnt Walker) but they all played apart in walker's plan. Collateral damage they call it.

am I only one like the twist that Riley died? I mean I'm not happy but interesting they tie in one story with another.
I like Doug. I believe he is justified in his insecurities about Ste & Brendan. Ste would try to convince Doug nothing is between him and Brendan, but always seems to be in Brendan's corner. Doug said" Is he okay?" it was funny. seem like he very afraid that Brendan gonna look after him if Declan die:)
same i agree, him leaving wont make a significant affect on the show dynamic..
Cheryl clearly grasps something because she has repeatedly said Brendan is dangerous and a bad influence around people (especially kids). Did anyone else just see Brendan hugging Ste after Lindsey died in that last shot?
NO WAYYYYY!!! SCREW BRENDAN, STE, AND DOUG... RIELY CANT BE DEAD!!!!

Of course Doug's teary eyed face has to steal the last scene in an otherwise brilliant Stendan episode. Not fair.
I want to whatc that ep so much but I only got an iPad I don't have a pc and I can't watch
It's a very callous comment to say that Brendan would do that to Walker. He didn't intentionally rape him for punishment. He was hurting and was using sex to cover the pain. yes same here then after felt the pain.
Did anyone understand what Walker said on the video message? I only picked up bits of it.

Yep, I just hate that the writers make him cry all the time...
at this rate dougie is gonna be friendless.
Oh, doggy, you're so touchy! Emmett will wire you some money!:D
I honestly don't get how any of this could be Doug's fault without him Declan would have died because they wouldn't of had an address!
True Lots of people carry some sort of blame but Brendan and mainly Walker carrying most of it :).
I suppose but the actress is really good so I figured it would end like this.
LOL
I'm with you there. But the issue, is what to do about it. Clearly, Doug was motivated by wanting Brendan gone. But I can imagine a more impartial ordinary guy obeying Walker because, heck, who knows what undercover cops do? Of course, this is a soap, and soaps can be silly, but real life people also do ridiculous things. We should also remember that Doug didn't have nearly as much reason to be suspicious of Walker as we did, & it made perfect sense that legit cops would be after Brendan.
We are all crazy addicts lol
No no where is the download :""""( it's not in the box
XD hahaha
that's true but I watch the whole show and I love it. so far I been enjoying the storylines but I agree. also they have had some really good stories and it's always bias regardless like 2009 (if I am correct) they won nothing and I was really shock and now it just seems like a pattern. i think its more so the consistency is what affects it and yes some stories have not been great but so far i have enjoyed most of it. they deserve some credit. i;m glad Emmett won it for Oaks.
jeah, but why can not just happend something good to them... like... Doug wins a million pound in the lottery, buy the "chez chez" and make brendan to his slave... haha
That was Riley, best mate of Doug and the grandson of the serial killer, psychopath Silas
Dougs face at 10:40 ...hilarious
no after that! "smarty pants" and if u stick around there will be much more to come. just hope that he doesn't change to much.
