- We're just a couple of beginners learning how to surf. Kooky maybe, but we are trying our hardest to get time on our feet in the water. It's the only way to learn and if it takes driving through a horrible storm on an early morning to get to the beach, then that's what we'll do. We met up with our good friend Cam from Chill Adventures for another great day surfing, laughing, and spreading stoke. 🚐: Hi! We’re Kevin & Mandy Jarrett and we love to adventure together, sometimes with our Aussie pups Hemingway & Mazie. @@thejarrettsjourney bro I’m moving to Michigan from FL next year for work and I was so surprised and hyped when I found out people surf the Great Lakes
@@William-nameNface whereabouts in Michigan? Oddly enough, we have lived here our entire lives only to recently realize that we can surf (in not so great of conditions at times) almost year round.
@@thejarrettsjourney moving to Grand Rapids area but I’m used to driving a couple hours to get to a surf spot and its looking like grand haven is gonna be my go to
@@William-nameNface g haven is decent. There's some other really solid spots close by depending on weather and wind. You'll have no issues finding waves. When ya get up this way, give us a shout.

@@zanekaidevi the storm was massive, the surf was better than average for the lakes. For a couple beginners it was more than enough.

@@midliferising thank you. Lake life can be tough to get into em at times, especially for a couple of beginners trying to learn
@@thejarrettsjourney Agreed. The freshwater makes it so much tougher to surf. Less buoyant that saltwater. Luckily you both weigh much less than I do. Despite weighing 260 lbs, I still score waves but surfing even my 7'6" can be a struggle at times as you can see in some of my videos. Keep up the good work!!
