i just got back in the water after like 25 yrs of not being anywhere near an ocean. picked up a boogie board, rode a wave straight in. instantly remembered why i loved the ocean as a kid... now i'm googling where to get fins, do i need wax, etc etc etc... this whole channel is fantastic
Yesss man! Welcome back to the boogie Alex. Any info you need just shout. Otherwise DM me on instagram and I can point you in the right direction 🤙🏼🤙🏼😉
@@JLG_Editz some wet suits have a certain fabric on the stomach that helps stick you to your board , but I find I need wax when the waves are bigger , but don’t need it for small waves
Loved this! Bought my first size LG Churchill's in1970, had them for twenty years, needed neoprene socks to get a snug fit and more power. Bought another pair two years ago and they're super snug right out of the box. Bought my first Morey Boogie back then and Tom sent you the foam, two skins and a single-edge razor blade, you supplied the contact cement, putting lots of kick in the nose. When the skins on my second one separated, I glassed it, which was a failed experiment.
@@iaincampbell_ Yeah, I think Tom Morey included one single-edged blade because he knew you were gonna need it but didn't want kids to go and buy a whole pack as who knows what kind of mayhem that might cause, so he probably included just one with the board and crossed his fingers! LOL! By the way, I'm retired, thirty-two years living in the Seattle area and originally from Santa Monica/Venice. I'm ready to be near the water again, just not sure where.
Thanks for including the paddle out. Learned a lot from your vids. I immediately saw some things I could do to improve. I surf at OB San Francisco and it sometimes takes me 30 min to get out, leaving me gassed. That double armed paddle for momentum right before a duck dive is something I've never thought to do. Are you right handed? Do you keep your plug and leash on your left arm to paddle one armed with your right? I'm right handed and keep it on my right arm, and guess maybe it would be better to put it on my left.
So sick bro, keep it up. I'm dealing with a pinched nerve in my back and sciatica so I can't shred rn but I'm going to the gym and doing everything I can to get back out there! In the meantime your vids are great to keep my head in it and to gather more wave knowledge. Having a gopro myself the video translates pretty well to what I've filmed. I've been sitting on some east coast US footy from before i got injured that i will have to post.
I’m new to bodyboarding and I did a few little ones yesterday but I’m going to a beach with bigger waves today so it will be good practise I’m very exited I’m doing it with friends to 😄
This was awesome, looks sooooo fun ! I live on an island where there are NO waves ! can you believe that, NO WAVES, I don't even know how that happens but it happens, all the swell just doges the island literally. :(
That looks so difficult paddling out with flippers. I bodyboarded when I was little and couldn't use flippers, I arm paddled. Then I stood up surfed my whole life. I'm body boarding again because it's funner, but every time I go out I can't use the flippers, especially in the shorebreak. I take them off. I currently have the Da Fins. Is it the fins I'm using or just more practice. They feel very weird to me. I can't kick and go fast like that.
May I ask where your Go Pro was located during filming? Like what accessory did you use ? Great shots btw ! Thanks for the share, really enjoyed watching it. Blessings from New Zealand
Can’t really make it to the Ocean these days I’m a profession skier and body boarder but everything is way outa whack price wise these days this stuff is really helping me mentally thank you!
Are you using the chest mount please respond I’m from Perth and I just learned how to do a rollover! You should come down to Margret river Perth and go to red gate beach it has massive waves and you will love it✅
I like the paddle out views because it shows the full experience
More to come…
+1 for real.
Yes what we all have to go through to get to paradise
The journey can be better than the result 🤝
9:57 is one of the most impressive duck dives I’ve ever seen. That takes some skill
Absolutely - no point having all the maneuvers in the world if you can't get out the back. That was alot of water to push through!
Thanks very much. It’s nothing too crazy.
Yeah that's awesome, close to the reef with the fish passing by
Agreed, awesome !

I grew up going to that beach and I loved it so much😊❤
It’s so good!
Chambers is so fun especially in the summer when it’s the only place that’s breaking!
Really cool to see it from your POV
That feeling when you get out the back on a good day!
That feeling when you get out the back 🤣😅
I could watch these videos every day. Thanks for the sesh. Glad you enjoyed it. LoL
Thanks. I’ll keep uploading.
How do you tie your fins leashes? Can you make a video for that?
Awesome video, though. This was a fun winter.
I’ve made a video on that. Will send below 👇

@Iain Campbell well thank you, I've been using homemade leashes since the 90s. But they come off now n then. Thanks for sharing.
Gotta love the crystal water duck dives
So good.
At 9:56 he swam with the fish 😂
I enjoyed this vid too.
great content! Always wanted to see how It feels paddling out in Hawaii!
Thanks 🙏🏼
This is sick, what a place, gretings from
Costa Rica pura vida! 🤙🏼
waves like that by yourself, what a dream session
Not too many good ones but the lack of crowds do make up for it. 🙏🏼
Watching this makes me feel like I have a chance of actually learning how to properly catch a wave
i am fairly new to bodyboarding. do you recommend lacing up your fins like that?
I do that but some people use other fin tethers. th-cam.com/video/GNN8RUEmKpc/w-d-xo.html

Love it man! I love the inner wave shot at 10:00 🤘
Those waves look so good
Beautiful coral reefs! And I always learn from your POVs.
Always fun riding some nice sets on a sunny day
Agreed!
The best bodyboarding pov out here..

The plug is more for dropknee than anything.
If you aren’t riding dropknee I would suggest whatever feels comfortable for you!
amazing video as always Iain, the entrance to the reef looks dangerous but the wave is so much fun! greetings from Iquique Chile brother
It’s all very fun. Thanks bru 🤙🏼
Vert nice! Great to see that in POV, and seeing you paddling. I Can imagine be there
Thanks for this movie 👍💪
Hawaii is so crowded every time I wish I can catch waves like this haha. Waves be to choppy sometimes and duck dive a lot
Great video! How big were these waves? 3-5ft frontside measure?
Some sets were about 6-8 ft.
I love pov video, please more
Coming up bro 🤙🏼
No crowds in Hawaii usually means its a heavy spot and alot of work for just a few waves. Niiiice!
Spot on 🤣🤣👌🏼
Sweet vid... Loving the Bodyboard Depot sticker too 🤙
Thanks legend 🤙🏼🤙🏼

so good, I'm impressed you found an empty spot after seeing all the pipe footage this winter!

Amazing like always
Ont parle toujours que de pipeline à Hawaï mais en faite il y a plein d autres super spot sur toute l île !!! Sympa de les montrer !!! 👍👍👍
But pipeline is the best and most popular! Something makes it stand out above the rest. This isn’t Pipeline…
10:35 to 10:43 you see FLYYYYYING
Nice video Iain looks like a fun wave. What's with the odd fins.
Just lost the black one so working with what I have.
Wich Location is it ?? Sunset ? Haleiwa ? Is not Pipe rt ?
This is not Pipe. Its a little way down the beach at Rocky Point
Nice home I like it
As he enters the water, this beach reminds me of the exact same beach that Tom Hanks was stranded on in the movie Cast Away

great waves! looks so fun!!
It was!
Looks intense.. We only have reefs too. Nice empty line up for Hawaii? 🤙🏾
not video related but, when paddling out the back i like to kinda get a bit of airtime going over waves? idk if its just me or everyone does it.

Something like a Churchill that has a shape that is good for bodyboarding might be better. The other fins are a bit longer and softer than BB fins

what kind of board is this and what size?

Tough getting in with such shallow water 💧
Especially when there are some waves around....
Getting out the back. And not getting caught too far in front when your on a wave 🔥 getting back in is the easy part lols
