i just got back in the water after like 25 yrs of not being anywhere near an ocean. picked up a boogie board, rode a wave straight in. instantly remembered why i loved the ocean as a kid... now i'm googling where to get fins, do i need wax, etc etc etc... this whole channel is fantastic

@@JLG_Editz some wet suits have a certain fabric on the stomach that helps stick you to your board , but I find I need wax when the waves are bigger , but don’t need it for small waves

So sick bro, keep it up. I'm dealing with a pinched nerve in my back and sciatica so I can't shred rn but I'm going to the gym and doing everything I can to get back out there! In the meantime your vids are great to keep my head in it and to gather more wave knowledge. Having a gopro myself the video translates pretty well to what I've filmed. I've been sitting on some east coast US footy from before i got injured that i will have to post.

Loved this! Bought my first size LG Churchill's in1970, had them for twenty years, needed neoprene socks to get a snug fit and more power. Bought another pair two years ago and they're super snug right out of the box. Bought my first Morey Boogie back then and Tom sent you the foam, two skins and a single-edge razor blade, you supplied the contact cement, putting lots of kick in the nose. When the skins on my second one separated, I glassed it, which was a failed experiment.

@@iaincampbell_ Yeah, I think Tom Morey included one single-edged blade because he knew you were gonna need it but didn't want kids to go and buy a whole pack as who knows what kind of mayhem that might cause, so he probably included just one with the board and crossed his fingers! LOL! By the way, I'm retired, thirty-two years living in the Seattle area and originally from Santa Monica/Venice. I'm ready to be near the water again, just not sure where.

@@buxtra it depends on your levels. I still get nervous but I know that I can do it and I keep doing it too! Its a little game I play with myself to overcome the fear and also to push my riding a bit more...
@@iaincampbell_ Frkn mind game fo shure, 🤣 I could have known, frankly I'm just slightly getting used to shorebreak surfing on cleaner days on a beachbreak. Bodyboarding shorebreak or these kind shallow reefs is pretty different, head close to the bottom! 🤯 Anxiety still needs to shrink major! 😂

Thanks for including the paddle out. Learned a lot from your vids. I immediately saw some things I could do to improve. I surf at OB San Francisco and it sometimes takes me 30 min to get out, leaving me gassed. That double armed paddle for momentum right before a duck dive is something I've never thought to do.
Are you right handed? Do you keep your plug and leash on your left arm to paddle one armed with your right? I'm right handed and keep it on my right arm, and guess maybe it would be better to put it on my left.
The plug is more for dropknee than anything.
If you aren’t riding dropknee I would suggest whatever feels comfortable for you!
