    If you’re working on a 1997-1999 Acura 2.2 or 2.3CL, there’s plenty of room to remove both fans without disconnecting the coolant hose or going underneath the vehicle to loosen the lower fasteners. The CL has a slightly longer nose than the Accord, so there’s more working room. You remove the condenser fan first, then slide the radiator fan to the driver’s side and pull it out. Just did mine in 15 minutes!

    This is the easiest way to do it in my opinion. I literally just finished replacing my radiator fan 10 minutes ago. I have a 1993 Honda Accord se coupe and I used this exact same method. Thanks man you saved me a lot of money on labor!!! Almost took it to a shop.

    Thanks for the video. It assist me troubleshooting my 97 Accord SE that had the same issue. Condenser fan bearing was bad and the radiator fan fuse was blowned. Replaced both fans with an aftermarket part from the internet. 5k miles later, staying cool and the AC works better now. Gave the Accord to my son who's in the Navy and loves the car.

    Helpful video, thanks for posting it. My first clue my cooling fan needed replacing was the fuse for my cooling fan was blown. This caused my car to overheat. Once I replaced the fuse and heard the fan again, it sounded bad like the one in this video. Just a tip to help other people.

    Nice helpful vid. Would you happen to know what could be the cause of the radiator cooling fan only turning on when the car is turned off after having been driven? The car is a '97 Accord. I'm leaning towards the coolant temperature switch as the issue. Thank you.

    so the driver side rad fan is for engine cooling?

  • @cooldude2245
    @cooldude2245 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My 94 Honda is still overheating, especially when I turn on ac. Which leads me to fan relay or fan motor. Seems like the fans aren't really moving air? In your body the fans are fast not like my fans...

  • @EsenbekAliev_

    my AC is not COLD COLD, but just blowing slightly cold air... what could a reason ?

  • @cosmasx1237

    • @tomparatube6506
      @tomparatube6506 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Under the hood, left hand side nearest the windshield, there is a box w all the fuse & relays names printed. Press two tabs to open it. Both relays are inside.

    Is it ok to just top off the coolant and NOT bleed the system? I dont really have the skill set or tools to bleed the coolant system

  • @heyitsthatoneguy91
    @heyitsthatoneguy91 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    10:10 considering its housed in plastic and even heavy duty plastic will get brittle over time, id wager too much force would just break the plastic its housed in

  • @cooldude2245
    @cooldude2245 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can a fan be weak? My 94 Accord is overheating and it gets worse when the ac turns on. Shouldn't the radiator fan be always on if the car is overheating? Mine come on still intermittently.

    • @Bushougoma
      @Bushougoma  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The condenser and radiator cooling fins are clear and not plugged with debris?
      Air in the system can cause the fans to not come on. Is the coolant level in the radiator and overflow bottle ok? If so try bleeding the cooling system. If it's low check around for leaks.
      Other causes of overheating. A restriction in the system (usually the radiator) due to not changing the coolant. A water pump with a bad impeller (old coolant eats away at the metal which reduces coolant flow) or a stuck closed thermostat.

    • @cooldude2245
      @cooldude2245 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bushougoma TY. The reservoir tank is filing all the way up. I've bled it several times and it still has the same problem. Under radiator cap-it's missing coolant and has air and needs to be topped off or the temp gauge starts going up (usually gets 3/4 up close to h. Shouldn't the air go to coolant reservoir? and not be under radiator cap? When I turn on ac it overheats quicker.

    • @Bushougoma
      @Bushougoma  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check the radiator cap and make sure it's sealing properly these caps tend to fall apart over time. The center plastic piece (the vacuum actuated valve) tends to fall off first.
      The radiator caps job is to maintain a set pressure in the radiator this pressure is printed on the cap. Keeping the coolant under pressure raises the boiling point.
      When the coolant pressure exceeds 16 PSI the pressure valve which is spring loaded is pushed off it's seat in the radiator this allows the coolant to enter the overflow bottle. As the vehicle cools down (if there aren't any leaks) a vacuum is formed and another valve on the cap opens and the vacuum pulls the coolant from the overflow bottle back into the radiator. So if the system is working properly the cap makes sure the radiator is always full and at the proper operating pressure.
      If the cap is good and you're certain you don't have any restrictions or external leaks (you can rent coolant pressure testers to make the job easier). You likely have combustion gasses getting into the coolant due to a bad head gasket, cracked cylinder head, or block which is pushing the coolant out of the radiator.

    If you remove the AC fan first, perhaps you can remove the radiator cooling fan sideways and up.... and not need to unhook your radiator hose....?..

    • @Bushougoma
      @Bushougoma  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The A/C fan has a more compact motor and there is less clearance to the engine on that side.
