The beauty of the question and the answer is that Master M did not ask any question afterwards to Sri Ramakrishna till his mahasamadhi. Now we can understand the profoundness of the query. Even Swami Vivekananda used to say about Master M that he has attained the highest by asking one doubt and others including him are having so many doubts..
How could I know that the yearning i'm feeling to realize god is a genuine one and not a temporary whim? When I could expect a guru to enter into my life to guide me through the path that I've been seeking so that I could get rid past this cycle of death and birth? Is it too much to expect for one who knows nothing of spirituality apart from what he's been reading in books?I know Swami Sarvapriyananda ji is too busy a monk to reply to questions from a layman like I'm,yet asking if there is anyone listening...
I shall try to answer to the best of my ability I don't think there is anything as non genuine yearning for God, Shri Krishna, in gita, describes the types of bhaktas: Arta: The distressed devotee who seeks God's grace to alleviate pain and sorrow. Jijnasu: The seeker of knowledge who feels ignorant and yearns for divine wisdom. Artharthi: The devotee who desires material gains and prays for wealth and prosperity. Jnani: The wise devotee who has realized the true nature of the Self and seeks union with the Divine. So even if you are seeking God for material reasons, you are a devotee. That's alright, the goal of life is to move higher and higher, none of us are born perfect, if we were perfect we wouldn't have been born. As far as Guru is concerned, he/she comes when the time is ripe. I don't remember the exact quotation but Swamiji in Raja Yoga said that if the disciple is ready, Guru won't be in wanting (i.e. Guru will arrive). So till that kind of eligibility comes, you may consider your favourite deity as your Guru, pray to him/her with sincerity, even if the prayers are mechanical it's alright, remember, we have to move higher gradually. Take up rule of Japa, do Japa of the name of God, it does not require any kind of initiation. Try to make a rule of certain number of Japas (Japas are usually counted in terms of number of malas, 1 mala equates to repetition 108 times), you may choose to do it once or twice a day... just try to be regular. Before eating, offer the food to your chosen deity mentally. Throughout the day, apart from japa, try to practice remembrance of God whenever possible, it can be through the name of God or through form of God, I have heard that one should focus on the name of God first (just focusing on sound would do), the name eventually evokes the form of God. Have faith on your chosen deity, rest assured all will come in time. Even the slightest of yearning, nay, thought of God won't arise in mind if there were not the grace of God. So please know that you already have been grace, now just take baby steps having complete faith in your chosen deity. Pray to God with sincerity, tears in eyes if possible. When time is ripe your chosen deity in form of a human guru shall come, till then pray to God in this way, "O Lord, I don't know anything, I don't have any devotion or knowledge... how will I attain you if you don't teach me to do so? please either come in form of guru or let me know what is to be known to reach you." (you get the sentiment). Name of God in and of itself in completely capable of leading to God realisation, so don't think that anything is in lacking. The final stage of naam jap is constant repetition, like the ticking of clock, if you attain to that state through practice God realisation will come. So you have the method, try practicing it, rest leave on God. Try to love your chosen deity, consider him/her your friend or mother or father or child or beloved... whatever relation you feel the strongest. I think it was Swami Vivekananda, who said, "Goal of spirituality is humanizing the relationship with divine and divinising the relationship with humans (i.e. loving them knowing them to be manifestations of God)." Apart from that I strongly recommend that you read the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, it contains all that is required for God realisation and more. May God Bless you, all the best!! just don't be discouraged, be patient, you already have all you need!! FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION : How do we know whether there really is any entity called god,/ isvara beyond human imagination ?? How do we prove that we are not fooling ourselves ?
The mind could never be permently fixed on God, so a bit of a silly question, mind just thinks thought, and God is not mind or thought, the nearest one can get to God in a permanent manner is consciousness, more pacificly superconciosness or Samadhi, which is a permanent state, beyond mind, when mind is transcended, from reaching maximum concentration, from the practice od Dharana, Dhyana, or Mantra, or any other means. But Samadhi is the only permement state of anything, so to have ones mind permently on God is not possible, but to sit in superconciosness, which is in the image of God is possible, and this is surely what was meant by the question asked.
Follow god teachings stricktly. If someone hurts you, forgive. May your wife also. Then God gets closer to you. Instead you think of god immensly bit hurt others, god gets disatisfied and goes bit awat from you.
Swamiji, I've watched most of your videos. This one is about a topic I really wanted to hear about, but the image and audio were distracting. I closed my eyes to deal with the video quality, but the background music was hard to ignore. Normally, I would stop watching, but I couldn't this time. Please forgive me if I'm bothering you.
As per my experience, the way to fix one's mind on God happens when one has tried all that one could to make oneself happy and failed at it, so the only option left then is God. Ramakrishna's answer is theoretical not practical. That is why one reads that unless one has suffered through the dualities of life one can't possibly aim for non duality.
There's no god. The whole nature, the all living being are god. You are the god. For man ,his own mind is the real god. God is not outside. It's inside. To realize this truth, we have to follow, practice the truth ,discoverd by Buddha. That's, the path of, morality, mindfullness, and wisdom. This is the path of Anapana and Vipassana meditation. This is the way of liberation from the unending cycle of birth and death.
@@sanjaysakthi Yes, OM is a mantra representing the essence, not a divinity. It can be present in mantras referred to a divinity like OM nama Shivaya, but can be recited alone.
@@lazyyogin333 'The word was god' is not in the Genesis but in the S. John gospel. Om is even not Deity itself. Let me explain. When we recite this mantra we can say it is 3 letters and the sound connected to them. But then there is the deep meaning of this mantra. The human language is too imperfect to explain this especially in modern dialects. It is impossible to define this meaning because any definition is a limitation and OM has no limits. So you cannot say what OM 's meaning is, you can say just what it is NOT. It has NO limits, it is NOT an object, it is NOT a sound, it is NOT a thought, it has NO relations with whatsoever. It is NON DUAL, so it can be said it is has many parts but in the same time it has no parts. 3 matras A-U-M are not the ultimate reality. Turiya is amatra, without part, avyavaharya, unmanifested, prapancha- upashama, perfectly non dual This is OM-KARA, beyond the 3 matras.
I am not at the stage of development that I can concentrate with that g-ddamn stupid annoying f-cking flute in the background. It's like a f-cking mosquito when I'm trying to sleep.
Why do you need to fix your mind on anything, what is God? but a creation of man. It's a concept, what you really need to do is align your karma with dharma, which unfortunately very few understand.
good but faulty concept. if God is only a creation of man, that would also mean that man itself is his own creator. if that is so, why is man unable to explain the natural processes that he claims is made by him. we must indeed align our karma with dharma, but not in the sense for ourselves, only for the supreme. It is stated in the Bhagavad Gita, that whatever we do we must do for God(check the description of the same video for exact shloka). Read the Bhagavad Gita thoroughly and also the Ashtavakra Gita, to understand this concept clearly. this is no hate comment, I just wanted to clear your concept about the supreme. your idea is good, but for the wrong purpose. a man's desire is unending, as man is part and parcel of the supreme itself and hence always wants something better than he already has. hence, doing our karma for ourselves is useless, as we will never be satisfied. do whatever you do and leave the expectations of fruits of actions to the Supreme. May Radha be with you. Shri Radhe🙏. Hari Om Tat Sat🙏.
There's nothing called "God" or anything even remotely equivalent in Indic context. It's basically a Germanic term which means something like "all good" - 'good' and 'god' are basically two forms of the same word root, just like come/came or began/begin/begun. "Fixing mind on God" isn't remotely comparable to "samadhi" or even "dhyana". Trying to translate your narratives from one context to another the apparent strangeness is pretty easily visible - on one hand you talk of "fixing the mind on God" and on the other you talk of "no mind". Just throw the word "God" away and speak directly in Sanskritic vocabulary, with clear references to yogic practices. Whitewashing it misleads a whole lot of genuine seekers.

And even if you deny all three? Wont you realise it then sir??
I'm still confused about meditation, is it just observing thoughts also know as sakshi bhav??
Me too. He didn't elaborate on that one. But your thought seems to make much sense as being aware kind of keeps you in a meditative state.
Music hinders

What is the third one in Bengali 🙏🙏🙏
Viveka = discriminative capacity. In this context it is the capacity to discriminate between that which is ātma and that which is not (anātma).
Yes background masking was not required. We will listen to you anywhere.
Jai MahaKutti Jay ParamKutta !

Your reflection of that reality🙂
Is it true???
Much as he speaks elegant English the 'imaginary' of his cherished order is sick
Change the speaker! He is Newyorker now 😂
What it has to do with this....
Without seen God Preciously anyone fix on him ?😂
What is that sentence sir?
🤣😂😍🤩😅🤪
There is so much evil in this world, I hate god... 👺
But OM is not a deity, nevertheless you can fix your mind on it.
Sound is an entity
আর তা আমাদের বোধগম্যের বাইরে।
No one knows who is God apart from Jesus Christ who himself is God.
