When Ruff Ryders for started they were a management group under Bad Boy who managed Mase and the Lox which led to them having the relationships to get Faith Evan’s on the track.. Puff father and the two brothers that run Ruff Ryders father had strong ties
Everything about this song and video is perfect. The Story DMX told. The vocals Faith Evans laid (she put her soul into 5 words "All I want is you"), the cinematography, especially the slow motion, the cameos, even the movie promo billboard. This was an epic time in music and probably my favorite video of all time.
If you’re not from NYC, Yonkers, white plains, you won’t know what that last scene with the fire hydrants means to a kid growing up in the city during the summer time. Dang this song takes me back. Now I made it in life, got out the hood became an attorney, got married, had kids then became a stay at home mom, saw the world with my family and these memories seem like a life time away. Love to all the real ones! ❤
I was born 88 and was only a child when this dropped. I was blessed with older brothers who understood the value of hip hop. When i hear this song and other songs from the era it brings sadness. It makes me miss the moments I've had the good and bad. Along with the sadness, a smile because i know how far I've come. Cant go backwards so i go forward with the love and memories something i will never forget.

This song never gets old. The lyrics, the video, the hook, everything was perfect. DMX told this story like he was just talking...true poet. X was special and was a gift to all of us while he was here. I'm 42 and not going to front, I've been shedding a few tears for the past few days. Obviously because this brother died, but also because his life and death was a sober reminder for me of how so many of our people are suffering and struggling. This man grew up in foster homes, abandoned by his family, became addicted to drugs, etc BUT God still picked him up off his knees and exalted him to the heights of riches and fame that most of us will never achieve; movies, albums, awards, concerts in front of thousands chanting HIS lyrics! Now my man is at rest, no more pain, no more worries. God is great! Sorry to rant, but this was on my mind. If you read this and take anything from it, take the message that life is short so cherish loved ones, enjoy yourself and let's help each other because you never know what the next man/woman is going through. It's not about how long you live, it's about what you do with the time you're here. Peace!
The Best post I’ve read all day.. sending love and strength to you also so many of us are hurting right now we lost a Giant however he said in his own words if he died today he’ll say he had a good life.. DMX is at peace now no more suffering no more drugs no more pain no more hurt, he loved and accepted God and God accepted him home. Rip DMX we love you❤️
This song was based on a true story. It's about a lover DMX couldn't have. They were together before he got famous. Once X got signed and made himself some money. He tried to get her back. But, she had kids and was involved with someone else by then. X really did put his feelings into his music. And I'm proud to say I am your day one! #MyFavoriteRapper #FlyHighSoldier

Peace!
Amen
The Best post I’ve read all day.. sending love and strength to you also so many of us are hurting right now we lost a Giant however he said in his own words if he died today he’ll say he had a good life.. DMX is at peace now no more suffering no more drugs no more pain no more hurt, he loved and accepted God and God accepted him home. Rip DMX we love you❤️

Hands down best song of all time this song is life RIP DOG……ONE
The late 90s early 00s music was crazy man 🔥
This song was based on a true story.
Wow I never knew that but wow this song will always rock

DMX is the "Mike Tyson" of rappers. One of the hardest hitters and Greats but didn't get the respect he deserved because of his personal problems.
Wow such a great analogy. Never thought of him like this but it’s perfect.
Love the analogy!!! Well done
This bruh made his own mark. He really doesn't need respect. This is a Legend. His talent speaks for itself. RIP D
