You guys missed the episode where Darkseid killed Dan Turpin.. #1 in my opinion. Has the best line by Superman ever... at the funeral of Dan Turpin he says "in the end the World didnt need a Super man, just a Brave one"!!!
Epilogue is one of the greatest episodes of anything I’ve ever seen. The dialogue, the plot twists, the character drama, the voice acting. It’s top tier television.
Terry being genetically related to Bruce was unnecessary, though. Being a hero is not about who you're related to, it's what you yourself do with your life.
@@wikiuser92 I have mixed feelings about Terry being Bruce’s son, but I also LIKE that I have mixed feelings about it. Like Bruce never really got the chance to have a family. He’s had comrades, friends, lovers and fans, but him having a *son* adds a new layer to his life. BUT it is pretty unnecessary twist that neither Terry nor Bruce actually need. Still it was a pretty bold choice and the execution is pretty well-done.
I always found it cute when Diana started humming ''am I blue'' right after she asked Batman if she missed anything. That told Diana everything she needed to know which was that Batman does have feeling for her and he just didn't know how to express them.
The Flash defeating Lex and Braniac is one of the most epic things in fiction ever Also loved how Shayera hugged Wally tightly when he escaped from fading from existence
The collective looks of shock the rest of the Leaguers have after Wally disappears, always got me. Like even someone as stoic as Batman. You can feel that gut punch they all have when they realize his death comes to pass, albeit briefly.
"Epilogue" hits extra hard watching it nowadays. That moment where Batman shows why he's a hero by sitting with a young girl who is afraid to meet her end. The final scene mirroring the very first scene from the very first episode of Batman the Animated Series. Hearing Kevin Conroy say "There will always need to be a Batman".
Well at least we still got other good Batman actors like Bruce Greenwood, Rino Romano, Troy Baker, Roger Craig Smith, Diedrich Bader, Jason O'Mara, Anthony Ruivivar and so many others.
I adore this show so much. The plot twists, the romance every now and then, and the characters themselves. Especially Kevin conroy. Long live his legacy as Batman!
Thing I like the most about that Justice Lords episode was either the flash speeding up his heart rate or the fight between Batman and batman it was basically just Kevin Conroy having an argument with himself
This show single-handedly made me a DC girl. Wonder Woman and Batman are my top two favorite comic book characters because of this show and the amazing writing and voice-acting they each had. I didn't realize it at the time of it airing because I was too young, but this show is truly tremendous and I was spoiled catching it all just as a kid.
R.I.P. Kevin Conroy These were some of the best episodes but I would have also said these are amazing episodes - The Enemy Below - The Brave & the Bold - Fury - The Terror Beyond - Secret Society - The Return - Ultimatum - Task Force X - Flash & Substance - Dead Reckoning - Grudge Match - Far from Home
So glad Wild cards was on the list. It's my favorite set of episodes ever. Will never get tired of the joker and the scooby doo reference in that episode.
The greatest animated superhero show of all time this show gave us great storylines and a variety of heroes and villains that we didn't know existed and the show gave them awesome screen time.
Hearing batman sing Am I blue was such a shock and wonderwoman humming the song and seeing superman getting zapped from toyman and wonderwoman wanting to kill toyman was crazy to see.
I would have like to have seen "Flash and Substance" on this list. Not only is it a great comedy episode, but also a great look into Flash's character (and the appearance of Mark Hamill as the Trickster is a fun bonus).
Would have been nice to see that episode on the list for sure. They probably might have considered it if the actual Reverse-Flash was in the DCAU (other than being given a shout-out via the Justice Lords Flash replica in "Divided We Fall").
Word this. The Flash was so chill and sane in this episode, it becomes abundantly clear why the Justice Lords went crazy in that timeline where he was killed.
Easily one of the greatest animated show/series of all time! I remember most of the episodes now and it watching this video of the show makes me wanna go back and watch it again. Justice League was pure nostalgic and I loved it
11- I actually met his voice actor, and told him that he DESERVED more voice work as Flash, just as the DCAU trinity always gets. He said I made his day. I never watched Smallville, but realizing that he did, makes this episode so much more fun.
4- Return of another iconic villain of the DCAU, BRAINIAC! He had been gone for so long, having him back, connecting his return to old superman episodes, that was awesome! I told the Flash's voice actor that THIS was my all time favorite scene with him! While the others were being told of their faults and failures, NOTHING phases Flash! It got to Superman, but not the Flash AT ALL, and I love it! "I got a seat at the big conference table, IM GONNA PAINT MY LOGO ON IT!" Considering that corrupt future happened because of the Flash's death, its perfect that he stood up and said NO, refusing to let that happen by going as fast as he's ever gone! This move even became his super attack in the Injustice game!
So many great episodes from this series. Especially after knowing the other DC properties that came afterwards (Stargirl, Jonah Hex, and the Suicide Squad, for example), you can see those references and characters used in this series, even if some of the names were changed, you knew who they represented. "Grudge Match" was always my personal favorite.
The once and future thing is undisputedly a top 5 episode for me. Terry: "You don't know your way around" Batman: "Are the criminals still cowardly and superstitious?" Bruce (Future): "Yes"
@@merlyworm Batman: [Dangling Ghoul off the side of a building] Where's Chronos? My arm's getting tired. Bruce (Future): I can't believe I was ever that green. [pulls Ghoul in and slowly approaches him] Bruce (Future): THIS is how you interrogate someone.
Grudge match should’ve been included here seeing Wonder Woman fight at full force was amazing almost took out 4 other leaguers by herself showed why she’s part of the big 3
6- The fact Amanda Waller caused Batman Beyond's existence is mind-blowing, but not out of character considering her past crazy plans like the Suicide Squad. We even got a cameo of the Phantasm! This proved that not only did she survive the events of the classic Batman film "Mask of the Phantasm" but Waller wanted her to kill Terry McGinnis parents to recreate Batman entirely. They wanted to RECREATE CRIME ALLEY! But Phantasm AKA Andrea's love for Bruce made her refuse to pull it off. She claimed Bruce would never accept this, and neither would she.
Sure, we do: "Phineas and Ferb," "Tangled the Series," "Miraculous," "RWBY," the "Animaniacs" reboot, "The Dragon Prince," numerous anime, etc. It's not like good multi-demographic cartoons stopped being made around 2010 or so like some people think.
@@CompuclesI’m sorry bro them shows got nothing on justice league or static shock , teen titans , Batman and super animated series those shows back then just was way better and hit different
The one complaint I have is that, his "World of Cardboard" speech notwithstanding, Superman is still holding back in the fight with Darkseid that follows. I keep thinking of some far more brutal moves he could have used on the Tyrant God ...
The DCAU meant a lot to me growing up. The whole universe includes most of my favorite shows (probably not The Zeta Project even though I do still really enjoy that show). I miss this universe a lot and would love if we could get some movies or series set in the universe again. R.I.P. Kevin Conroy!
Justice League and the entire slate of DCAU was the blueprint for a successful Cinematic Universe that DC/WB could have had way ahead of the competition. Too bad some of their key people then doubted that it would work in live-action.
Good episode choices for arguably the greatest showing of the Justice League on screen. Some of my personal favorite episodes of the series are "Secret Society", "Hereafter", "Clash", "Twilight", "Alive", "Destroyer", "Doomsday Sanction", "Epilogue", "Panic In The Sky", "A Better World", "For The Man Who Has Everything", Divided We Fall", "Starcrossed", and " The Savage Time". Justice League and Justice League Unlimited were great DC superhero shows and among the best tha DC has ever made.
I was at the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited reunion panel at NYCC 2015, and I got to see Kevin Conroy sing Am I Blue? in person! I really really wish I could’ve talked to him after the panel during the autograph session! 😭😭😭😭😭
I can't believe one of my favorites, especially top 5 didn't make this list! Wake the Dead and its precursor The Terror Beyond. Hawkgirls emotional arc and duty are why I love her character and voice actress so much. And the terro Beyond is nod to one of my favorite Marvel team-ups The Defenders! Grundys portrayal is heart felt and couldn't love these 3 episodes more!❤🦅🔱🪄💪
14- Shining Knight was the best part of that episode. He was a freaking loyal knight of King Arthur, and a badass! A true warrior who refused to yield! It was awesome and showed what true heroes were like!
Should have had "flash and substance" as an honourable mention. Another one of those episodes showing that beyond simply being strong and clever, heros need to have sympathy to their villains. While Flash is having issues with his rogue gallery, he finds The Trickster (voiced by Mark Hamill, who also played him in the 90s live-action Flash show) in a bar, and simply talks to him ("you're off your meds again, aren't you, James?"). Also, while Flash acts so fool-hearty, Orion tries to figure out why people love him as a hero so much if he is such a fool. Also, while it wasn't overall a very eventful episode, "the return" where The Android from Dr. Ivo returns to earth, beats the crap of most of the justice league, all to have an existential discussion about the purpose of the android
Beleive it or not. But this episode was also a meditation on “our” purpose in life. What are you doing to give life meaning? This EP still haunts me 15 years later.
That episode also gave us a rare opportunity to see Flash and Batman working together outside of the wider context of the rest of the team. They basically encapsulate the trope "The Friends Who Never Hang."
I really enjoyed The Savage Time, Hunter's Moon,The Camdus arc with Question,I am Legion, In Blackest Night (I'm a huge green lantern fan),Task Force X,Hawk and Dove, Ancient History, Shadow of the Hawk, and Far from Home with the Legion of Superheroes to just name a few. I grew up watching JL and JLU so they all have a special place in my heart.
2- Darkseid as the final villain. That's just perfect. Also shows why Superman in the DCAU always looked like he got his butt kicked so easily. It was never that he was weak, HE WAS ALWAYS HOLDING BACK, and he got a chance to show it off perfectly. This is also the LAST TIME we ever see DCAU Lex Luthor TO THIS DAY! Luthor breached the SOURCE WALL of all things thanks to Metron, and gained the Anti-Life Equation, what Darkseid always dreamed of. In a flash of light, both Darkseid and Luthor disappeared. I keep hoping one day he returns, but if not, this would still be considered a great way to close the book on Luthor's story.
The backstory behind Terry was my personal favorite. A close second was when they worked with the future justice league because Batman Beyond was one of my favorite WB cartoons of all time outside Batman the Animated series and JL/JLU. I really think we deserve a Batman Beyond live action movie or bring back the cartoon at least, it’s super underrated.
Great top! One of my favorite episodes that wasn't on this list is Initiation. That was the first introduction I had to Green Arrow. Also loved how they showed heroes sacrifice with Captain Atom. Just an amazing introduction to what JLU was all about.
I thank you for taking the time to share. Though I grew up watching the Justice League, I do not remember some of these episodes. I need to catch up and rewatch the complete seasons.
I would have used the savage times as my obligatory time travel episode. You get a lot more out of it imo. A depowered john stewart showing he is still every bit the badass hero he is with easy company, The blackhawks and of course Diana meeting Steve and following up once she returns to the present. I remember the story more then hereafter. Hereafter loses something after you watch Superman: Doomsday from the same time period. Otherwise a pretty solid list.
"Seven soldiers of victory" was and still is one of my favorite episodes. The lesser known characters got a spot light in that ep. Vigilante and shinning knight was awesome to see. Especially Vigilante, I remember he made a clint Eastwood comment and I lost my shit. As a kid I would watch the old Clint Eastwood movies with my dad. No other kid knew who Clint Eastwood was. I was the only one who got that reference.
Not ... quite, but I see where you're coming from. In both instances, innocence was brutally trampled underfoot by unfeeling, if not outright inhuman, forces.
Didnt get to see the whole series until I was already an adult. What an amazing series. Nothing in tv or even on the big screen today can match the heights of this legendary superhero series.
Every Unlimited Episode Ranked: 38: Hawk and Dove 37: Hunter’s Moon 36: Shadow of the Hawk 35: The Balance 34: The Cat and the Canary 33: Ancient History 32: Dark Heart 31: To Another Shore 30: Dead Reckoning 29: Initiation 28: I Am Legion 27: Wake the Dead 26: Grudge Match 25: Chaos At the Earth’s Core 24: The Ties That Bind 23: Ultimatum 22: Patriot Act 21: This Little Piggy 20: Double Date 19: The Doomsday Sanction 18: Task Force X 17: Far From Home 16: Panic In the Sky 15: For the Man Who Has Everything 14: The Return 13: Flash and Substance 12: Fearful Symmetry 11: Alive! 10: The Greatest Story Never Told 9: Epilogue 8: Clash 7: Question Authority 6: Kids’ Stuff 5: Flashpoint 4: Destroyer 3: The Once and Future Thing 2: The Great Brain Robbery 1: Divided We Fall
My favorite Justice League episodes 1.Legends 2. Savage Time 3. Patriot Act 4. Wild Cards 5. Once And The Future Thing 6. A Better World 7. Destroyer 8. Grudge Match 9. Double Date 10. Injustice For All
It'll be really hard to find someone to pick up the mantle of voicing Batman in animated movies or shows after the passing of Kevin Conroy since Kevin Conroy is the real true Batman. We all will miss Kevin Conroy. R.I.P.
@@myleswayne301 he said he’s working on getting Wonder Woman into more animation, which pretty much confirms she’s getting her own animated show. Still we don’t know what universe it’ll be set in. As long as Susan Eisenberg is the voice though I don’t really care, though I would love it if it’s the DCAU.
That episode with the Justice Guild titled Legends, that was the WandaVision of the 2000s. It's one of the most memorable episodes for me that when I saw WandaVision I thought the plot was so Justice League Unlimited because of the similarities.
This show was definitely ahead of it’s time and one of the greatest shows ever created. Glad I watched it when it first came out. Starcrossed, a better world or divided we fall definitely should have been 1.
For me, 'Epilogue' is a top3 episode, it was so emotional watching the final moments of Ace with Batman! 'The Return' is another top episode, the existential crisis of Ivo's android and Luthor saving the universe was a fantastic storytelling. And Kevin Conroy's 'Am I Blue' was so wholesome!! Still imo a 10/10 series it is ❤
Really good list. Would have loved to have seen the Savage Time and Twilight on here, but still really good. Here’s my top 20: 1. Starcrossed 2. Epilogue 3. A Better World 4. Divided We Fall 5. Twilight 6. Wild Cards 7. Destroyer 8. Injustice for All 9. This Little Piggy 10. The Savage Time 11. The Once and Future Thing 12. Hereafter 13. Legends 14. The Doomsday Sanction 15. For the Man Who Has Everything 16. The Great Brain Robbery 17. Secret Society 18. Task Force X 19. Flashpoint 20. Dark Heart
Man this clip brought back so many good memories of one of the best animated shows I've ever seen 😢 really thank you ❤ Edit : both captain atom vs superman episode and the flash museum episode deserved a mention
Man I love the DCAU, Batman Beyond, Superman TAS, Batman TAS, Justice league/Unlimited, are all some of the best animation shows period. (Static shock is alright too)
I’m still sad this never gotten another season, or sequel series, because I would love to see a Justice League and Teen Titans team up. Also the part where Superman gives Darkseid a super punch is epic!
8- Didn't mention who Superman was talking to! One of his rogues, VANDAL SAVAGE! The immortal man believed his methods could lead to a perfect world, shockingly, he admitted he was wrong, and asked Superman to help him!
Should've added the episode Chaos at the Earth's core to this list. I do like seeing how super heroes survive, adapt, and battle the forces of evil the Stone Age way. Just like Cyborg did in the Teen Titans episode Cyborg the Barbarian.
Another episode to I would add to the list is Far From Home. Supergirl, Green Lantern and Green Arrow are taken to the 31st Century to aid the Legion of Super-heroes and see Supergirl stepping out of Superman's shadow as hero in her own right.
I do agree that Wild Card, Epilogue, Destroyer, Injustice for All, the once and future thing are great episodes. Most of the episode on this list are some of my favorites. I would put Destroyer as number 1. It also shows Batman in the last scene, and we see his bat symbol up close. It was the not ending of Justice League, but the end of the whole DCAU. Batman the animated series was the first to begin DCAU, he is the only character who appeared in every DCAU show and I am surprised Twilight and Alive are not on the list. Twilight shows Superman is still scarred for Darksied, for brainwashing him in final of Superman the animated series, Darkseid meets other members of the Justice League, Orion fights against Darksied, Superman willing to Kill Darksied and Batman using the motherbox to save Superman and Orion. Alive focuses on the villains. We get to see the Legion of doom fight each other for control of leadership, Lex defeating Gorilla Grodd, and Lex playing God trying to bring back Brainiac, but his plan backfired and ended up resurrecting Darkseid instead, Darksied’s look is way more badass, and Darksied returns to Apokolips with a bang was great.
Superman:Working Together We Saved The Planet And I Believe That If We Stay Together As A Team We Would Be A Force That Could Truly Work For The Ideals Of Peace And Justice

As much ch credit as we give Kevin for being Batman, Tim Daly is very underrated as Superman/Clark, her s voice just fit perfectly
When it comes to Kevin & Tim playing off each other as Batman & Superman, they play off each other like Brothers.
This series' Superman is actually the only one I like, I usually hate Superman.

The Trickster "cameo" was outstanding.
Mark Hamill was also The Trickster in the Arrowverse live action "Flash" series.
This list was both nostalgic and something I needed. You guys should do a top 10 saddest moments justice league episodes next
0:16 Rest in Peace, Kevin Conroy.
You were vengeance, you were the night, you will always be Batman!
He always be our batman to i understand to as well
The time traveling episode was interesting.
And me too, I miss Kevin Conroy as Batman... Unfortunately. 😔
I love that Patriot Act made it to the list. The Seven Soldiers of Victory deserve their own movie
Rest In Peace, Kevin.
Amen.
That Ace & Batman moment in “Epilogue” always made my eyes water 😢
Still one of the best depictions of the Justice League.
Voice acting icon Kevin Conroy, we still miss you…
🙏🙏🙏
#5 could be my favorite. The opening scene's horror punctuated by "Do you smell something?" is chilling.
Old Man Static is awesomeness !!!
I thank you for taking the time to share. Though I grew up watching the Justice League, I do not remember some of these episodes. I need to catch up and rewatch the complete seasons.
Rest in peace Kevin conroy
Amen.
(signs cross).
Justice League Action was a good homage to Unlimited.
And pretty respectful.
I consider it an homage to the Superfriends cartoon shows from the 1970s and 80s.
How was it because of the way it looked ?
@@victorhernandez8723 a combination of both and brave and the bold.
It was because of this episode that I knew who Shining Knight was in the live action "Stargirl" series.
RIP Kevin Conroy!!!😇🇺🇲
Amen.
17:56 Ngl I cried during this episode, Ace's Death was Heartbreaking especially knowing Batman went through the same thing with his parents. ❤🙇🏿
Not ... quite, but I see where you're coming from. In both instances, innocence was brutally trampled underfoot by unfeeling, if not outright inhuman, forces.
Didnt get to see the whole series until I was already an adult. What an amazing series. Nothing in tv or even on the big screen today can match the heights of this legendary superhero series.
Love this show so much. I used to watch this on Toonami back in the day. Now I get to re watch this on HBO Max.
I always liked the one where the mind possessing alien attempted to destroy the Sun, and it was up to Flash to save the planet at every turn.

My favorite episode is when Vandal Savage redeems himself after destroying the world
It'll be really hard to find someone to pick up the mantle of voicing Batman in animated movies or shows after the passing of Kevin Conroy since Kevin Conroy is the real true Batman. We all will miss Kevin Conroy. R.I.P.
Great show. Wish this Wonder Woman got her own animated show. Who knows, maybe it can still happen.
James Gunn said that it's possible.
I wish we could get great animated shows like these again. DC animated hits differently
"I have no idea who this is..." I still cracking in laughs like the first time when i hear that phase XD
This show was definitely ahead of it’s time and one of the greatest shows ever created. Glad I watched it when it first came out. Starcrossed, a better world or divided we fall definitely should have been 1.
Rest in peace, Kevin. Your voice was and always will be helping us in the night.
R.I.P., Kevin Conroy.
Amen.
Luthor didn't recruit the Joker. He recruited himself.
Here’s my top 20:
1. Starcrossed
2. Epilogue
3. A Better World
4. Divided We Fall
5. Twilight
6. Wild Cards

15. For the Man Who Has Everything
16. The Great Brain Robbery
17. Secret Society
18. Task Force X
19. Flashpoint
20. Dark Heart
The Question is the most underrated of the JL:U characters.
Man this clip brought back so many good memories of one of the best animated shows I've ever seen 😢 really thank you ❤
Edit : both captain atom vs superman episode and the flash museum episode deserved a mention
Man I love the DCAU, Batman Beyond, Superman TAS, Batman TAS, Justice league/Unlimited, are all some of the best animation shows period. (Static shock is alright too)
“Clash” was the only good episode with the DCAU version of the original Captain Marvel voiced by Jerry O’Connell.
15:14 That's How I Feel About Kevin Conroy even as he passed away.
God I love this show so much
Rip keven Conroy
The Amazo arc was so good.
“Epilogue”, one of my 10 most favorite JL/JLU episodes.
Best animated superhero ever, and still holds up
I’m still sad this never gotten another season, or sequel series, because I would love to see a Justice League and Teen Titans team up.
A masterpiece of a series.
17:01 Oh My Lord Batman Is Always About That Life!
@@davidsharpe1611 Not to mention, found a Brainiac boyfriend.
Batman the animated series was the first to begin DCAU, he is the only character who appeared in every DCAU show and
I am surprised Twilight and Alive are not on the list.
This was one of the best things I ever saw in my life❤
Top 5 imo
1.) Task Force X
2.) Hereafter
3.) Starcrossed
4.) Flash & Substance
5.) Divided We Fall
To give a reason of why "For the Man Who Had Everything" is Top #1: As of date, that's the only adaptation of an Alan Moore comic he *liked*
All episodes of Justice League Unlimited are gems.
This entire series is the best and greatest.
So many great moments and battles.
Top 20 Best Space Ghost Coast To Coast Guests of all time
@9:40 what about "The Savage Time"? Honorable mention for "Ultimatum" (Justice League vs. Super Friends homages? YES!)
