I love that the BMMCC OG is still getting love even after all these years. Nothing beats that sensor and CDNG footage. Still have mine built out for productions, tried selling it but knew I would regret it. I have a feature length next year that will definitely need it as the A-cam.
@@ReelCinnemonProducts Yeah I think it's one of those cams you just have to keep...I still haven't found a camera that pleases me as much sooc. It's good that you're still putting in rotation, I'm doing the same on a feature that starts shooting in January too. Shooting mostly Sony but for the flashbacks etc I'm using micro.
It is amazing the flexabilty and capabilities of the original BMMCC OG has. I have done a similar rig for my film making and the getting the CGPro opens up everything on this camera. It really is so under appreciated camera but is just a workhorse of a producer. I have the new version and they are rigged similarly. All from on hand components. Luckily is had the original Wooden cage that came with mine. Much slimmed down rig which I use. Best bang for the buck camera you can get for production level quality. Oh yeah, I have your original mods for my camera that opened up everything. 👍 👍👍

great setup, but i see that the handle have arri locating pin on the front, why not mount your screen on it and move the handle on the front rail ? balance would be better and would allow you to run bigger batteries, or even an NPF Hotswap plate :)
@@ingediaingedia4368 thank you and you are 100% correct, doing that would balance it perfectly. Cool vid mate! I just watched your original MOD video for the OG Micro and now this one, which is great because I am debating purchasing a Micro 4K G2 and getting this XCLS Cage. Quick question, is that a Bluetooth module type device you plugged into the camera, and if so how well does it allow you to control the camera? Also, can you get any playback of clips you record with this set up? Appreciate you man, thanks!
@@maxolivermurray Hi mate, thank you so much for checking these out and for commenting. This is the first micro which has a VGA port for control. Unfortunately the G2 is a little bit trickier. You'll need a usb-c splitter and a controller that works with Blackmagic over usb. I'm putting out a new video soon with the Black Frost handle I made and I will be trying that on the G2 micro. It's only a run/stop record though.
@@Wanderingforever976 hi, I had to change 3 wires around and solder a 2.5mm lanc port. Do you have the same issue? If you're planning to buy a Cgpro, get the standalone box.
Unfortunately it doesn't. The G2 is a bit messy because you need use of the usb port. It would probably work with the new black frost handle but will still need a usb splitter.
