The Nikon 12X50 appeared to have finer detail that the Skymaster 15x70 but I'm not sure if that was because the initial focus was just better on the Nikon vs the others. I'm looking to spot fast objects like the International Space Station and some light nebula / galaxy spotting.

Well, the Nikons are far better binoculars than either of the others!
If you have the budget and after image quality, go for Nikon. This video clearly demonstrates.
You don't have to purchase any adapter for your binocular, you can make one by your own using common household items and few nuts and bolts, moreover if you want to buy, its difficult to get this type of adopter in the market.
I just bought a pair of 10x50 German field artillery binoculars from company I had never heard of before, Qunse. They are individual eyepiece focus so you NEVER have to change focus for objects at different distances; ie. they are parfocal, always in focus from closest focus to infinity: no eye strain or headaches after long use.They were also inexpensive, $130 USD. I was skeptical until I had a chance to use them, and have been VERY impressed. They are also mil marked with a built in illuminated compass
They are as good a set as Steiner or Saavaroski: and a LOT CHEAPER. Shop Amazon.

They utilize Bak 4 glass as a plus.
Ya, ur right; its easy to hold steady, but not for too long, soon your hand starts paining and obviously then it will start shaking; its a good idea to use a quality tripod in this case i think :)
I had Celestron G2 Upclose 10x50. I didn't like them at all. Tasco 10x50 are much better.

I have 2 Nikon binoculars 10x50 and 10-22x50 and 4 celestron binoculars and some other brands also. Nikon are the best no comparison with others

Great video for beginners to understand magnification and sizes. Wish you had done a night shoot as well. Also, why is the 15x70 shaking so much even with the tripod? Or is it because of the camera? Will this improve with a cellphone adapter for the eyepiece?
I don't know whether the Skymasters used the tripod that comes with them, but it's notoriously inadequate and shaky.

Nikon 12x is the best
For moon a long telescope, even the cheapest one will be better, you need about 50x magnification. For night sky overview binoculars are better, the most expensive you can afford will be the best.
I disagree, first you don't need so much magnification to get nice Moon details, and second cheapest telescopes (under 100€) are mostly crap.
If you want to spend that kind of money, I'd go for a pair of binoculars that will give you much better views of the sky. Even with a 10x50 binoculars, you can see quite a nice amount of detail of the Moon if you put them ona tripod.
Which will be better for star gazing and normal traveling use nickon auclon 16×50 or the Celestron 25×75
Nikon is the best choice as it delivers quality optics and best optical calibration 🙏

Celestron upclose 10 ×40 gives you less bright image than upclose G2 10×50 because of its small size of lens. (Basic physics states that more bigger the lens, more brighter will be the image)

vj331 upclose g2 wil b the better choice as the lens in it is multi coated, which will help u to see the object without unwanted reflection inside the lens.

Hola, todos los binoculares de este video necesariamente necesitan trípode??
Sólo con los más grandes ya que son muy pesados y tienen un grado de visión menor (eso hace más difícil centrar un objeto). Yo tengo los más pequeños que aparecen en este vídeo y para simplemente ver el cielo nocturno no ocupo de un trípode pero si te interesa tomar fotografiaras y/o vídeos, compra un trípode para cualquier binocular, le seria de mucha utilidad, por la estabilidad.
Nikon 10x50 vs olympus 10x50 which one is better ?
Although I personally don't have Olympus, but I have used Nikon, it's optically very sharp and can produce crispy image of an object.

S SOUZA Ola Souza, comprei (uma semana atrás) um Celestron 12x60 Bak4, levando-se em conta o peso dele (cansa um pouco sem tripé) as imagens são muito boas, campo de visão legal (4,4º) tenho telescópio ( newtoniano ATM 220mm) e mais um celestron 7x35 (esse tem um peso irrisório e campo de visão 5,5º), uso esse último para pré-visualizar objetos no céu para depois apontar o telesco, gosto muito de observar com binóculos pelo campo amplo que ele pega no céu, como gosto de deepsky os binóculos são excelentes para uma observação assim, por min teria um giant de 150mm rssssss!

Unless I'm mistaken, the Celestron Upclose uses inferior BK-7 prisms. which decreases the effective exit pupil. Probably one reason why they're so cheap. Of course, the Skymaster (I own a pair) isn't exactly the most expensive model out there, either, though they are BaK-4. While 12 x 50 is a little dark, I would expect the Nikons to be far and away the best quality of the three- and the most expensive.

nikon will give u a very nice view of moon & even clusters but if u want go more further u can try celestron ultima 80 or 100mm

hi pdsir, i just purchased celestron skymaster 15x70 binocs. which tripod would you recommend?
At first congrats for your purchase, its a fine piece of bino. Anyway if u have a low budget then u can go for Vanguard MAK 233, which can support upto 3000 g and have online price less than 3K. But if u want perfection for smooth control of both azimuth and altitude (which is very important in astro) then u can try: (a) Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head (410) AND
(b) Manfrotto tripod compatible with Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head

I am no expert, but does it not seem like there is only a very slight difference between the zoom? I always imagined the 15-70 to have much more zoom than the 10-50.
It's 50% more, not much but sometimes it's decisive if you see a detail or no.
50% more should theoretically be a HUGE difference. I mean that's like having the ability to see 1 mile, versus 1.5 miles - a whole extra half mile.

After Shock All extra zoom means for binocs is that farther images are more clear and crisp. With 50% zoom you will see farther objects more clearly not more closely.

They both are reputable companies. I'd be concerned with the kind of scope first off, before worrying about whether it's a Meade or a Celestron or something else. The model comes into play, too.

+Sangamesh PIn "Celestron SkyMaster 25x70", 25X power is too much for 70 mm lens (& the exit pupil is very small) which will make it difficult to observe any celestial or terrestrial object. U can go for any model of 15X70, but Nikon will give u more sharp image than Celestron.

Dspi, s image quality is better, celestron upclose have bk7 prism. Try to get a bino with bk4 prism, which will give sharp and crispy image, better u go for nikon 12 or 16x

I think u can go for 12x or 16x nikon action cf or action ex ( action ex is bit costly bcoz its filled with nitrogen gas which will prevent the lens from mold and fungus)...both have very good optics

Using celestron 10x50 use can see some details like craters on the moon surface, u can spot 3 moons of Jupiter but can't see the ring of Saturn or can't spot and galaxy.
