@@diamondbeckett8130 You are so right Diamond my Jamaican friend Eric thinks we are copying them but these are common traits we share.... Is there gari in Jamaica?
Black American here! Yes, we call it grits and in my home we topped it with butter or sugar for breakfast. If we're have for lunch/ dinner we stir in black pepper and butter with our fried fish. Delish! Diaspora keeps it alive all the way from the Motherland. I love how our cultural heritage is still connected after so much has been done to destroy connections and cultural pride. Thank you for this simple yet delicious dish.
I just discovered your channel. Your cooking is an entirely new cuisine for me, so much to learn! I have been cooking for over 50 years and I am a traditional southern cook from Texas. We eat grits all the time but I am going to try your method. I soak mine for a while in the morning and then bring it to a boil slowly and add extra water and cook them for about 20 minutes. Traditionally we eat them with butter and salt and pepper with eggs and bacon for breakfast. I will try them your way and I am able to get the Goya corn. I look forward to learning your cooking methods and recipes
Sweet Adjeley, You keep reminding me of my childhood in Tema, Ayalolo saturdays morning and Sunday morning this is the Breakfast for most children. Thanks for bringing back the good old days of GA-ADAMGE REGION. THANKS
Thank you 🙏🏽 I brought my Ga husband grits from the States, and he fixed it this way, but my family doesn’t make grits sweet. We make cream of wheat sweet. Grits we make savory, with cheese, spices, and even seafood and/or meat. Now I also see why some of us AAs make grits sweet. We got it from our African ancestors ❤ Thank you again 🙏🏽
I love my grits! I never knew it was a Ghanaian dish! I will definitely try it with groundnuts. I love fish and grits or garlic shrimp and grits. I love all your recipes. Thanks so much for sharing
Seriously, your recipes and videos are giving me life right now. I’m just making a list of all the food I’m going to be making in the coming months! I honestly love your channel. Keep its up!!
Sweet team members our love for sweet things is unbeatable. 🥰Let's clap👏 for ourselves for having a taste for good and sweet things As for the neatness of our sweet mistress dierr hmmm...Kaaba j3i oba kor ato😂😂
Sweet, this brings me back all the way to primary school mornings when the ekueegbeemi seller will go house to house shouting: Moko y3 he lo? I miss those days 😍😍😊
I make this every morning my children don't start their day without this.i serve it with peanuts butter and sugar.my husband loves it with a scwiz lemon juice and butter and sugar
OMG! I love love me some ekuegbeemi and Oblayo and yass authentic and original it was 👌thanks for taking us back home that was amazing Sweetitintins 👏👍😍😘
I love how this is prepared in Ghana, in Nigeria we have a similar dish called pap, although the preparation is quite different cos we ferment the corn by soaking for 3 days, then blend and sieve to separate the chaff from the corn starch. But I love that this is really easy to make, and I guess it can be used as a weaning food. I will definitely try this out for breakfast. ❤Much love❤ from my Nigerian kitchen❤❤ to yours ❤❤❤
When i got the notification, looking at the milk and the nuts i said to myself this looks sooo yummy so i will watch this after Church lo and behold i was right. Thank you Sweet Adjeley for this recipe, oya chop kiss 😘😘👏🏾👌🏾👍🏽
Looks like what we Call pap/Akamu except that its not grainy.& long prep time. I love this sooo much bc the preparation time is short love how ot thickened up in the hot water. Absolutely healthy. I learnt something NEW today 😀 turned out fantastic 😋🙌🌹❤️😍
