I love my 390 Adventure. I have adventured it all over, certainly places I would never take a big adventure bike. It's perfect for carrying all the camping gear and setting out for remote travels.
I second Matt's opinion. I spent a year flipping through videos and haunting every showroom and the KTM 390 Adventure is a great Jack of all trades. I bought it and now my other bikes spend a lot more time alone in the garage. S
Hi Dave and Steve thanks very much for your time at the ABR festival had a great time chatting a good laugh in a great venue of like minded people , hope yous got home all good and well thanks guys safe riding and keep up the videos there great , cheers Steven
I love my G310GS but the one size fits one seat depression is a pain for me. I'm 6'2" and the G310GS ergonomics are optimized for smaller riders because BMW seems it as an into bike for young riders or women in the west, and as an aspirational bike for Asian riders. My plan is the taller Seat Concepts comfort seat. While I like the same weight and more power to help with less strain when highway cruising, I'd worry about reliability. These small ADV bikes (FINALLY!) are still a fairly new breed but both seem to have good reliability. Given KTM's legendary Race Read Reliability, I'd give the reliability nod to the baby GS. Two years into the three year warranty, I've had zero problems with the G310GS. Hopefully that continues for some time. For the old man adventure riding I do, the alloy wheels are absolutely no problem and I greatly prefer tubeless tires for quick and easy flat repairs. I'm coming off a broken rib so I'm sympathetic to Steve's suffering. I went for my first ride after the broken rib a week ago. I also tore up my left thumb, and most of the pain is gone but I seem to be stuck at 50% mobility for the rest of my life. Getting old sucks. Things break more easily and healing takes twice as long. :-(
I'm a taller guy so I would feel safer on a dual sport. Aswell as if I accidentally go off the road or sm. Its gonna be my first bike ima try to get my license. I'll ride it around my yard XD
Hi guys another video only yous could make.!Steve should not hold back on his thoughts about the seat on the BMW. It really is time you took another this is not a holiday sortie. All my best wishes. Hope that rib heals quickly Steve.
Superb again!! Hope Steve is healing well. Thinking of trading my 310 in also, may look at the 390 as a viable option. And for the record, I do like Pina Colada!!!
Nothing worse than having your mates about if you have broke your ribs😂. Who needs enemies. Hope he gets better quick. I love my 390. It will do everything well short of full on woodland enduro single track. People over think the traction control issue. You can get very far with it on, you just have to forget about modulating the clutch and throttle yourself and let the bike work it out while you get your weight in the right place. Much more fun with it off though. My better half has a crf250l which is also great however Id love to have a go of one with similar quality suspension as the ktm. Looking forward to this summers videos. Cheers Paul
Paul .. 😀 Can you kindly spend a few days on the CRF and make a video ! I’m very curious! Best wishes ps I own a R1250GS and a CRF450RX… but neither bike really does what I want it to ! 🤦♂️😂
Brillient!!! 🙌 Shame for Steve.. 🙈 I LOVE my 390 Adv, not long back from riding the ACT Portugal!!! What a trip! Preview in on channel n vids soon 🤓 I had zero problems with the bike.. only problem is my lack of talent! 🤣 Look forward to seeing you guys in action.
How's Steve getting on with his 390? we had two we had issues an wound up rejected but with dad's stage 3b/4 prostate cancer we are looking at them again against the 310
Cheers, he's sold his 390 and 310, just lack of power on the road, longer rides are a pain! Nice bike for short rides and trials but thats it! He's now after an older GS or RT of all things! Thanks for watching, very best to your dad 👍
@@Motoeuro oh yep I can understand that, that’s been our battle having had the 411, n 2 390s now weight is the most important priority it’s had us looking at smaller bikes again. Looking forward to your next upcoming adventure. Should be interesting comparison between the 390 adv, and the Crf300l. I hear the ktm is superior to the Honda, on, and off road. And for reliability!??
I have a 2021 G310GS. I looked at the KTM very closely. I’m happy with the 310 however I’ll be interested to see your take on the 390. I really enjoy your videos ! Cheers from Oregon, USA.
I wish Steve well.. I test rode a 390 in Queensland and found it too stiff and too low to do the kind of riding I wanted it to do but contra to that is its value for money. Even though Im short at 172cm my WR450 just rides potholes and divets so much better even though I often cant touch the ground with deep cambers off to the side but my confidence in means I don't worry too much. If I was Steve I would have got your bike. For the kind of off road japes you get into.. much better methinks. Great vid though. As always

Just dawned on me why I never took to this channel. Its the poor Richard Hammond impressionist.
Very poor...... LOL!
thanks for the great video! I am thinking of getting the KTM adv 390 also as my first bike

We had KTM Duke 390 many years ago. I know it is not exactly the same but sold after 1 year. Looking forward to your movies.
Thanks Moto Troter :D Fingers crossed......
I love the sense of humor and your delivery.
Good to see you back in the dirt. Sorry to see Steve in such pain. But I'm looking forward to see more of your next adventure.
Poor Steve, but he was such a good sport given the pain he had to be in. Look forward to the next adventure.

I have a 390 ans it goes VERY WELL offroad with good tires (Mainly on TET tracks) !! Only one problem, the traction control switch ON each start 😞
That TC drives me mad also.. the new model fixes this, was hoping for an ecu update or something!
@@2WheelFreak Old models can't be reflashed by dealer with the 2022 ecu software?
