    • @CreamySuds
      @CreamySuds  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ooohhh shea butter is the star of this recipe. I'd say you can replace it with other hard oils like Cocoa butter or Mango butter but not an oil that's liquid. You can use palm kernel oil instead of the liquid oils though but keep the shea butter.

      @@radambher I've actually never used or touched mango butter so I don't really know how thick it is. But if it's similar in thickness to Shea butter then it shouldn't be much of a difference.

    Is putting it in the fridge multiple times what made such a creamy consistency? Or would letting it cool until it reached the thicker consistency you got when you took it out of the refrigerator for the last time suffice?

    • @amberpalmer3708
      @amberpalmer3708 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also how many ounces does this recipe make? Sorry for all the questions, but this is the best non emulsified body butter recipe I’ve seen

    • @CreamySuds
      @CreamySuds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, so me putting it in the fridge multiple times was simply a factor of my lack of patience. I also learned (but haven't tested this) the essence of putting it in the fridge is to ensure the different fatty acids in the oil solidify at the same pace so it doesn't end up gritty as it would if left to solidify at room temperature. Apparently some solidify faster than others so placing in the fridge ensures they solidify together. Also, this recipe would fill up a 10oz jar and if whipped well enough, would still leave some extra for perhaps another little jar. Hope this answers your question ❤.

    Hey this is awesome! But I have a few questions.. What is the shelf life of this? And will it not melt? Is there a way to keep it without melting?

    • @CreamySuds
      @CreamySuds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. Shelf life would be the same as the ingredient with the shortest shelf life really so it may be a few months to a year depending on what oils are used. Vit. E can help prevent oxidation. In hot temperatures, yes it will melt but at room temperature under 80°f, it is fine. Most people who make to sell don't sell it in the summer time for this reason since it's hard to transport it in high temperatures.

    If I were to add coconut oil to this recipe, how much should I put?

    • @CreamySuds
      @CreamySuds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whatever recipe you use, try to keep your Shea butter around 50-60% and Coconut Oil could be around 10-20% then liquid oils around 30-40%. That should give you a nice consistency.

    How long can u keep it? Does it not go off?

    • @CreamySuds
      @CreamySuds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can keep it for as long as the oil with the shortest shelf life. It won't go off because it doesn't contain water (water/humidity allows for bacterial growth). For most oils, I'd say a shelf life of 6 months to 1 year would be fine but most people would probably use it up within a month anyway.

    • @CreamySuds
