(That was one of my favorite things you found). I also loved those wooden desk pieces. 🧡the wood color to them. My husband and I have been in process of building a cape cod home. After waiting all summer, we finally have a drywaller. I am so excited to get into it after living over three years in 500 square feet, ☺️ but I know it’s in God’s timeline. We have lived outside the country in Chile for three years and back in the states (my husband is a missionary pastor). We started a church in Ohio over three years ago and it’s very hard to be in an area and make friends and try to fit in, but we are pilgrims and strangers in this world and want to be faithful to our faithful God. The last couple of years I find myself moving away from the orange color into more muted greens, browns, beige, etc. I use pumpkins on my porches but very few inside. Thank you for giving us something to hold us over for our OMH fix, just in case the baby comes sooner than later. We will still be here whenever you are up to getting back into the swing of things, but take all the time you need until then. I also have the same problem of not having many walls to work with in my home. Lots of large windows and real stone & brickwork that presents it's own challenges. We have 2 fireplaces that are beautiful, but also create problems with room function & flow. Toss in a husband that doesn't like anything I try to do with decorating and it's all looking like I don't know what I'm doing. Ha ha!
I found a very small lamp in a thrift store that I wanted to put on the cupboard ,the shade was in bad shape,and was a Jean type fabric. So I painted it with a cream chalk paint and glued lace trim around the bottom edge. Turned out great!
Fun thrift haul, great finds (love love the oil painting!). When you showed the 2nd letter desk box, I immediately thought that some rolled up white towels stacked like a pyramid for in the bathroom could be another use. Relax a bit before the baby comes, congrats and enjoy that beautiful family time!

Well, I started with the oldest and then decided to jump a couple new ones. The difference in the look of your home then and now is like night and day. You have done such a tremendous job placing your finds and changing things to match your style in the past 2 years. Good for you! I’ll add for anyone reading this, if an oil painting is a little too bright or a color doesn’t fit in, a person could (I did this once) buy a little tube of oil paint and gently touch the area you don’t like, following the design already there. Hi again! Second comment today! Oh yes definitely started for Autumn and a little Halloween. Not into scary Halloween at all. Anyway, my colors are same as last year! My husband is fighting cancer so stress keeps it simple, although more brown's. It is light pinks, Rose's, blushes, plum and wine colors mixed with fun faux small pumpkins, green, ivory and some faux florals, sticks, etc. Outside is pumpkins, some signage, a couple crows, and a friendly ghost or 2 with a cute square crow!!!
Lots of great finds! I was able to snag two great pictures at a local auction this week. One was an autumnal scene titled Under the Tree and it's massive! 42x54 😀 Only payed $21 for it!

You've found some lovely things - I have thrift shop envy because my local shops are now expensive compared to just a few years ago! I think people are buying stuff and re-selling in antique malls or Etsy etc. Its certainly pushed up the price of things. I think the thrift stores are trying to compete with wal mart and target lol that’s what I’ve heard Goodwill’s ceo say. Resellers have always been that bread and butter buyers. I guess if we stop buying the overpriced stuff, they’ll stop pricing it so high 🤷♀️

So true about thrift prices in general. But today was a huge score for me,Elizabeth! I found an old 1930s China set with 8 pieces each of dinner plates,bread plates, cups and saucers plus 2 vegetable bowls and a platter for 38.00 ! I looked it up and 1 plate was Worth 30.00! The pattern is called silver maple and will be this year's Thanksgiving dishes.isnt it a thrill to score such treasures? They get new homes and get re loved again!
I've the transfer ware dish.. is that the teal or blue & white.. I'm not really sure but ta coming across teal. Love the metal sconce. I have several single ones. I love picking up pairs or singles when i find them, i just love decorating with them all around the house! Same..i always pick up peg rails or shelves with pegs, i always pick up shelves too.. anytime i find any of them at a good prices. You can use them anywhere & decorate them in so many ways. I love an size ornate frame.. and i love the gold tone ones & wood ones, although i seem to find more ornate ones in gold🤷♀️ ohh my the frame you DIY'd is just stunning!! Love It❤ Ughh I'm so jealous😢 With heat index today it got up to 104° here in the Tampa area of Florida. I'll be sooo glad when November gets here so the temps will get a little nicer. The we'll have about 4mths where it won't be so miserably hot! Lord I'm good miss my fall & winter in Tennessee😕 Of course i love old boxes, anything old & made of wood! I hope I'll be able to find some, and the little sewing machine drawers. Again I love picking up shelves, of any kind. Sense I do some decorating with the old Victorian/regency & French country decor i love to find the shelves with the ornate details. I love putting them under a picture & adding pieces that go along with the picture.. Whether it be figurines candlesticks, a brass piece or a vessel of some sort with florals. I like the ornate wall vases too. You could probably use antiquing wax on the shelf and age it, & it won't look so silvery.. its very pretty! Looks like we both love lots of the same things huh?😄 Those last 2 little shades were so sweet, love the shape of them. When we had our thrift store in Tennessee, we would get little pitchers In donations all the time, i had a pretty nice collection at one time. I sent quite a few of them back to the store when we packed to move here to FL. I kept a good bit but i think i let go of more than i kept.🤷♀️ you took that pretty oil painting to the next level, beautiful frame.. it looks so good where you placed it! Where did you buy the pieces you've been using on the frames? Have A few i'd love to add some piece to. I enjoyed the video, enjoyed looking at all your beautiful finds & just sharing! Lovely thrifting finds. The sconce has wonderful details, and the transfer ware plate was a steal. if the painting is still too bright for your liking, you could go over it with antiquing wax. Could you please tell me what the sage green paint color is that you used in your dining room? I also like the white paint you used on the walls elsewhere. It is warm without being yellowy. I’ve considered going over the painting a little, but I’m very hesitant to touch someone else’s art. The color in our dining room is called meditation time by Behr and the living room is bit of sugar by Behr. 😃

Dearest, the pitcher you don’t care for, with the faint color at the top, is very old. I would say 30’s to 40’s era, maybe older. I’m 70 yrs old and remember my grandparents having this same kind of accessories/ serving dish ware. If your styling is for “antique/older things” you found a BEAUTIFUL PIECE with the pitcher ❤. Also you mentioned limited wall space. ALWAYS remember, upper/higher spaces. For year’s I have hung shelves above windows and doorways. It brings a great feel to any room. That way, the eyes see variation in the room instead of everything at the same horizontal level. Just my opinion and suggestion. 💕🙏🙏. Instead of moving the mirror, try un-centering your beautiful, redone picture, for a more layered look. With the room being so dark, I think the mirror should stay to reflect light in the room ❤

I think the thrift stores are trying to compete with wal mart and target lol that’s what I’ve heard Goodwill’s ceo say. Resellers have always been that bread and butter buyers. I guess if we stop buying the overpriced stuff, they’ll stop pricing it so high 🤷♀️

Love everything you do would have got rid of the black on the picture myself but I would have left the frame plain as the feature is the beautiful picture . However that’s what makes it your house and not mine 🤣 the count down is real 😊
So true about thrift prices in general. But today was a huge score for me,Elizabeth! I found an old 1930s China set with 8 pieces each of dinner plates,bread plates, cups and saucers plus 2 vegetable bowls and a platter for 38.00 ! I looked it up and 1 plate was Worth 30.00! The pattern is called silver maple and will be this year's Thanksgiving dishes.isnt it a thrill to score such treasures? They get new homes and get re loved again!

I've the transfer ware dish.. is that the teal or blue & white.. I'm not really sure but ta coming across teal. Love the metal sconce. I have several single ones. I love picking up pairs or singles when i find them, i just love decorating with them all around the house! Same..i always pick up peg rails or shelves with pegs, i always pick up shelves too.. anytime i find any of them at a good prices. You can use them anywhere & decorate them in so many ways. I love an size ornate frame.. and i love the gold tone ones & wood ones, although i seem to find more ornate ones in gold🤷♀️ ohh my the frame you DIY'd is just stunning!! Love It❤ Ughh I'm so jealous😢 With heat index today it got up to 104° here in the Tampa area of Florida. I'll be sooo glad when November gets here so the temps will get a little nicer. The we'll have about 4mths where it won't be so miserably hot! Lord I'm good miss my fall & winter in Tennessee😕 Of course i love old boxes, anything old & made of wood! I hope I'll be able to find some, and the little sewing machine drawers. Again I love picking up shelves, of any kind. Sense I do some decorating with the old Victorian/regency & French country decor i love to find the shelves with the ornate details. I love putting them under a picture & adding pieces that go along with the picture.. Whether it be figurines candlesticks, a brass piece or a vessel of some sort with florals. I like the ornate wall vases too. You could probably use antiquing wax on the shelf and age it, & it won't look so silvery.. its very pretty! Looks like we both love lots of the same things huh?😄 Those last 2 little shades were so sweet, love the shape of them. When we had our thrift store in Tennessee, we would get little pitchers In donations all the time, i had a pretty nice collection at one time. I sent quite a few of them back to the store when we packed to move here to FL. I kept a good bit but i think i let go of more than i kept.🤷♀️ you took that pretty oil painting to the next level, beautiful frame.. it looks so good where you placed it! Where did you buy the pieces you've been using on the frames? Have A few i'd love to add some piece to. I enjoyed the video, enjoyed looking at all your beautiful finds & just sharing! Yes,I've been saying that for several years now,thriving store prices have gone way up,it's kinda crazy, you can go to antique shops and have same prices and more things to choose from!!!

Lovely thrifting finds. The sconce has wonderful details, and the transfer ware plate was a steal. if the painting is still too bright for your liking, you could go over it with antiquing wax. Could you please tell me what the sage green paint color is that you used in your dining room? I also like the white paint you used on the walls elsewhere. It is warm without being yellowy. I’ve considered going over the painting a little, but I’m very hesitant to touch someone else’s art. The color in our dining room is called meditation time by Behr and the living room is bit of sugar by Behr. 😃

I used to find lots of great things at Habitat for Humanity. Then they really started overpricing their items. I walk in and walk out!

Dearest, the pitcher you don’t care for, with the faint color at the top, is very old. I would say 30’s to 40’s era, maybe older. I’m 70 yrs old and remember my grandparents having this same kind of accessories/ serving dish ware. If your styling is for “antique/older things” you found a BEAUTIFUL PIECE with the pitcher ❤. Also you mentioned limited wall space. ALWAYS remember, upper/higher spaces. For year’s I have hung shelves above windows and doorways. It brings a great feel to any room. That way, the eyes see variation in the room instead of everything at the same horizontal level. Just my opinion and suggestion. 💕🙏🙏. Instead of moving the mirror, try un-centering your beautiful, redone picture, for a more layered look. With the room being so dark, I think the mirror should stay to reflect light in the room ❤
