my sister who goes to your school recommended me your channel and it is helping me so much especially as i am terrible at the subject. Thank you so much!
The story is so creative, just that it is completely different from qhat high-achieving students have in my class; high vocabulary. I always get intimidated by their work and personally i like my stories, just sometimes not how i phrase it.
I actually got 76 on this when I did it as a mock (i lost one mark on Q4 and 3 on Q5 ) I was actually really proud of my story- it was about some pirates finding a guy in the water and being the freezing air seeming just a little bit warmer as each member of the crew began to sing in harmony
Wow that is very good! Well done :) I find that writing about what you are more interested in makes the exam more bearable haha, especially since the creative writing comes after Section A and you get tired.
Hiiii tamar's tips i realy realy realy like your videos i watched 3 of them now i am gonna watch rest of them and is realy helpfully i am on year 10 now i have 1 year left i will comeback to this comment after if i don't forgot anyway thanks for making this video for us ❤❤❤
Do u reccomend using chatgtp as soo many teachers say pre plan a story as realistically u cant make one up on the spot with 2 little time. So how do u plan an remmember a story b4 the exam and just adapt it to the question
I think using ChatGPT to come up with prompts would be a good use of AI. I would try and remember 3 contrasting plots and adapt them to the prompt - 2 creative stories and 1 description. I talk about this in detail in this video: th-cam.com/video/MLANFYL4HzE/w-d-xo.html But using ChatGPT for plots and prompts is ok. I would not suggest using it to actually write the story because AI always sounds unnatural and if you are adapting the AI's writing to the exam question, you are switching from your style of writing and the bot's which will ruin the flow of the creative writing piece. I hope this answers your question - feel free to follow up if I haven't.
Hello . Your story is amazing. I have been watching your vidoes for a while 'How to get a grade 9 in...' but please can you make a video like that but for languages
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it :) I personally did not take any languages, however, my close friends all took languages and received grade 9s so I am happy to ask them for their tips and present them on my channel if you would find that useful?
@@tamratips I'm in Y11 and take double languages (French and German). I have been to both languages' countries on language camps, and am very comfortable with all aspects of both- if you'd like help making a video lmk- I think I'd be able to help with all 4 papers. Edit: I also study mandarin so I could research that GCSE and provide tips for students taking it
@rawcopper604 heyy, tysm for our offer! Feel free to comment your tips here if you want - I'm sure they'll be super useful!! I have organised my year 13 friends who are taking A level languages to create a video with me but if you mention something that they don't I'll be sure to feature your comment in the video :))
Do you read books? If not, could you please tell me how you were able to come up with such a creative story? I love ur channel btw. U speak clearly and explain better than others. thanks so much.
Amazing video , thank you so much! How did you prepare for question 5? What are exact things you did to enable you to write like this in the exam? Did you memorise anything and if you did, how did you apply it to the question because a lot of the time even if you memorise sentences, it may not fit the question. I’m in y11 and I just had the mock for English language and my story was definitely a weakness. Any guidance would be so helpful thank you!
Hey thank you! I have made a complete video on English Language which covers most of your questions here: th-cam.com/video/MLANFYL4HzE/w-d-xo.html I would definitely say practice is what is required for creative writing and getting used to the short time you have to plan and write. Try and come up with a character that you could use in any creative writing piece. Or if you prefer writing in first person, maybe experiment and see what genre you find easiest writing in. English language was my weakness too as I am very much a maths person. So what I did was tried to include everything that the examiner is looking for i.e. description, contrast, character development etc. Hope this helps :)) Good luck!!
Helloo, I watched your other video on english language but I was wondering how you practised for the creative writing/ how did you improve it? I hear reading books is a big tip but I wondered if you had any
During half term, I used to write one creative piece a day - timed. I used random image generators and tried to come up with an interesting plot that I would then write about. Reading books and even watching short shows/films like Black Mirror are a great way of getting different ideas for plots. Don't copy the plots but get inspired by them :) - for me, Black Mirror is the kind of genre that I enjoy so getting more ideas from the futuristic dystopian genre helped me. It is quite hard to critique your own writing so what I did was, (when I gained the confidence) I gave some of my timed creative writing that I did at home to my English teacher and asked for feedback. He was more than happy to look at it. For English Language, it's all about practice! Try and set aside just 45 mins a day/week for creative writing (whatever time you have free). I hope this helps! Good luck :D
Tamra can you please explain the English papers like how many paper s did you do and how are the question s set up also do you get a separate mark for each question sorry I’m so confused
with all honesty I have never read such a creative story then this one your brain lives in such a nice home
