Great vans only thing i found odd was the gear changes 1st into 2nd the connection to the drive shaft after repressing the clutch was the oddest thing to experience.
@@laurencechapman1990 Yes I've learnt about this. My Ford mechanic says that Ford said you should change this belt after 10 years, they now say after 6 years at a 1500+ Euros. Out Fing rageous! As you know if you do nothing there is a very good chance it will destroy the engine!
This was obviously filmed years before the upload date because he doesn’t even mention the wet belt engines, he’s talking about the custom when it first came out.. why’s this so late being uploaded to TH-cam because it’s a good video
Yes, everyone going on about the dreadful design of the wetbelt, but my custom is coming up to 120,000 and no issues, I've had the belt done, and serviced annually, also because it's my van and not a company van I treat it like a baby. Truth be told there is no perfect brand new vans out there anymore, even the new VW transporters are adopting the hellish wet belt systems.
@@davidowen8805I thought as much. The 2.0 customs are supposed to be less reliable than the 2.2 ones, but the 2.2 ones do have issues with their DPF filters and if they aren’t looked after properly it can cause strains on the rest of the engine such as turbos etc. Just got my 16 plate 2.2 with 30k on the clock and so far so good, but I won’t know until I’ve had it for a couple of years. Good luck with your search for a better van mate, we rely on them being a reliable workhorse 👍🏻
In England I had the English variant of the ram pro master called the Peugeot boxer. It had the same 2.2 diesel in it as this transit. Serviced yearly still only made it to 100k before expensive problems arose. The best transits were the banana engined ones which used to easily get to 500k with regular servicing

I know what you mean. The throttle didn't react immediately. No smooth change from 1 -> 2
Excellent just resetting my clock on work van 👌
This is a really good video. As Top Gear used to be. Brilliant. Thanks for posting.
Thank you kindly!
What is to be aware of 2019 onwards Customs? Are there any known serious mechanical problems?
Wet belt issues

That's not a Euro Pallet. You lifted a Standard Pallet & placed it the back 👍

Took fuse tester to my fuses in both fuse boxes an none are listing up
Great review….great van
I'm on my third one 2.2 never had any major problems
.but I wouldn't have a 2 litre as a gift.
Is this for this the newer models to? Stick to the 2.2? Thanks in advance
I won't buy any van with a wet belt cam think 700 plus to change that belt😅😅😅
@@roycampbell5605 sounds like a great thing to avoid 😂
😅You are cheeating somehow! You change them, but if you try to keep one for 10 years or reach 600-700.000 km??? 🤔🧐😉
Are you related to William Woollard?
No, but Mr Woollard is related to him.🤔
CO2 in the atmosphere is only 0.04% at 0.02% plant life starts dying out, how low do they want it ?
Great point that most people are not even slightly aware off. Biggest greenhouse gas is water vapour.
They want it low to reduce the growth of food for the people....
They want us out to live in an crowdless and clean planet...
Stupid selfish demons!
They want it at 0%. It’s a death cult
67k miles and I’ve had a new engine turbo air con ecu and more
I will never by Ford again
Sorry to hear this mate, so frustrating! Are there any reliable newer vans out there?! Nightmare
@@Elwooddudes no I’m still stuck with the ford 23k 2years ago when I got it
16k in work
My advice buy old or new
4-6 year olds stay away
What year is this? Assuming it’s post 2016?

I heard the ram pro master is much better cheaper and designed better

Timeing wet belt/ failure / costly change a waste of money and garbage vans😢
The 2.2 pre face-lift doesn't have a wet belt. The 2.0 has one
Absolutely agree and ford and a bunch of 👌
Not these early ones, old timing chain 2.2 engines in these early euro 5 ones
what was the engine code for this model? ie pre- wet belt mediocrity :)
Terrible unreliable vans engines are rubbish fall in bits around 50.000 miles 😮
Oh right... Funny that mine has done over 140,000 miles and it has NEVER failed me or missed a beat.
