Bought the turbo a month ago. To those contemplating on buying, I can really say it is money well spent. If you can stretch your budget a little bit then do your self a favor and go for the turbo. I would like to add that the driver's seat on the turbo can be height adjusted (manually) and there is the power mode and sport mode("manual") for the turbo, both of which performs a bit differently from just using the automatic drive mode. I have tried all modes on a long ride with long and some extremely inclined uphill climbs (4 passengers including driver) and the car performed beyond my expectations, no hesitation at all. The turbo unit doesn't necessarily turn on all the time so the car can essentially be driven as if it was only a 1.0L but almost has the power of a 1.5L engine available when needed. Great review as always.

There is much more commentary which some would hate but I absolutely love, made the review feel more natural. How Caco really tested the two vehicles is commendable, the effort the whole team, Jack and the others included. Again, showed the pros and definitely the honest cons that most people and reviews hide away from the public. Another job well and spectacularly done by the AD team, no doubt the channel I trust the most as of this moment.

Yeah. If we stick to what the cars were originally designed for, the NA version is the more appropriate fit. Personally, I would go Turbo if I'm a person who travels in and out of Manila via tollway or skyway. But if you live within Metro Manila and travel mostly within it, the NA would be more beneficial because of fuel economy.
I bought the turbo variant of daihatsu rocky. Here in Pakistan the turbo is definitely worth spending extra money on because there is an yearly tax on engines above 1L capacity. Love the car and all its features.
definitely one of the best and detailed review on the Raize G and Turbo variant. No sugarcoating added and is very honest on the performance of the car. I'd still go for Turbo even with that price diff.
Well for me,.If ever I have the buck! I'm definitely going for the blue 💙 pill (turbo) Since it's more relaxing,.And it's boat loads of safety features too lacking a 360° or back cam at least,,..You've got parking sensor front and back as well as airbags (side and front) Plus points too,.Is those two-toe wheels! I will be commuting from the city to our farm and a small portion of our commute will be on a questionably managed gravel road. I wanted the larger R17 tires and higher ground clearance of the Raize (8 in) to deal with imperfect roads. Also we have limited space for parking in the city so a Conquest 4 x 4 was not a consideration. So the Raize is a good compromise for us and ~ 1M was my max budget. My wife and I really liked the additional safety features that come with the turbo (BSM, RCTA, rear passenger airbags). She usually challenges me for every peso and I was expecting her to insist on the cheapest model but she was all in on the more expensive turbo. They only have a yellow turbo on the floor now but I expect to order Turquoise blue turbo this week. Edit: I agree with the author that it would have noteworthy to have rear passenger vents for aircon - this is the Philippines. Our tester forgot to use his paddle-shifters and manually shift on steep slopes 😁
Twas great that your able to test the CVT in a steep incline road. But still I'll go for a traditional automatic or a manual for good pickup in that situation and as always it was a great review.

Ako na yung natatakot kahit alam ko na kaya pa niya isagad.
I did a test drive on both raize and the new kia sonet. i would say the sonet wins on every department. the raize is still a good buy but it is cheap inside, the fuel efficiency was amazing tho. the raize is a good start up car tho. for those who are looking for a fuel efficient car. but never forget to do test drives this way you can get the car that wins your heart. i took the kia sonet home because it was way way beyond surprising. felt like i bought a car a couple of hundred thousand above its price.
I'm confused. How many variants does the Raize have? If there is a "top of the line naturally aspirated" and a "top of the line turbo", so are there variants below EACH of them? Anyway, I think for 125k, you get more airbags (God forbid you don't use them), a slightly bigger screen, front sensors (not needed much as back sensors make more sense), and a little bit of power. Is it worth it? For a small crossover, maybe not. But hey, it comes down to personal preference. Great review again, team! Cheers!
The Raize has 4 variants with two engines available. The 1.0 Turbo is the top of the line of the ENTIRE model range but the 1.2 G CVT is the highest spec available for the 1.2 engine models. This then makes the 1.2 G CVT the top of the line variant for the naturally aspirated 1.2 engines as there is the E CVT and E MT under it.
@@lolmonkie Got it. Now it's clearer as Caco failed to mention this. Might help others. So there are 4: 1 turbo (top of the line) 3 n.a. engines Thank you!

Could you try to make a comparison about the maintenance of 1.0 turbo engine and 1.2 vvt-i (not turbo). Which of the two can provide savings when it comes to engine maintenance for lower costs.
Thank you for doing the loaded hill test. I could have forgiven the lack of rear vents, if they had remote start. I would always skip a 3 cylinder eco car, too much vibration.
Great video and more so a great review and comparo! Kudos to you guys, more particularly, Caco! Very nice! One question though (I don't think you've mentioned and conscious of), did you use the Raize's "S" (from the manual, they termed it Slope - NOT Sports) mode with the "Power" button on the steering wheels?
Like what? its not just the price and features that matters, but also the aftersales and parts availability. MG and Geely are both quite a contender at this price range, but the issue is their supply chain
Honda City is definitely the better car. The engine itself is already proven even since the 1st model of the city series. The Resale value is also very high because of it's engine - not to mention it's safety features and spacious interior The advantage of Raize is that it has a 200mm ground clearance which is definitely a thing to consider if you always pass on a rough and bumpy road or a flood prone road Honda City is more for the "City" drive so in short, City for the superb engine and if you are inclined with cruising spiritedly and go for Raize if if you are fine with adequate speed and if you need that high ground clearance 😊
I guess my money would be on the NA Raize rather than the turbo... despite a few downgrade in trim and safety devices, it's more economical to run and maintain than the trubo... I can handle the few compromises the NA carries over the turbo... P124,000 off is still a big chunk of change to save...
I already bought the Red G Variant and Im so satisfied. ♥️ Sad to say after 7 months, the front windshield cracked(but not broken) when some "flying stone" hit it. 😭 Replacement will take like 1 month as per what the agent said. Ugh
I wanted this but it's true, the power of this car is lacking especially when loaded. You're only 3 but the car is already showing some struggling. Imagine if its 5 people with some luggage at the back. Now thinking twice. What can you guys suggest aside from the HRV?
Honda is releasing the new WR-V in Indonesia this November. It's suppose to be a direct competitor to the Raize, albeit more expensive. It will be powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC, same as in the new City.
Too expensive. Honda is too over confident with prices. Base wrv model E, is more expensive than Raize G CVT, which is terrible value for money. Even Kia Sonet TOTL is much better value for money

If you are fine with the basics, go with the 1.2
We test-drove both variants and the results were very surprising
1.2 FTW
Mt or cvt?
ano po reason nio bakit mas pinili nio 1.2 vs turbo
Okay ba sir ang 1.2 E cvt
Go for E CVT meron ng power mode at slope mode. defnce lng nla ug rear cam at folding side mirror.
Fantastic review and comparison sir. Great work as always! 😊
I own a Turbo raize. It's fun with the paddle shifters.
Hi, what does the paddle shifters do?
Same lang po ba yung yellow and pearl white? Mas mahal lang si pearl white because of its color?
AutoDeal, can you please review the Haima 7X?
Yours truly,
An avid subscriber looking to find his first vehicle
Thanks for the honest review
Great video and more so a great review and comparo! Kudos to you guys, more particularly, Caco! Very nice!
One question though (I don't think you've mentioned and conscious of), did you use the Raize's "S" (from the manual, they termed it Slope - NOT Sports) mode with the "Power" button on the steering wheels?
Now how about 3 way batle between Raize v Venue v Tiggo 2 pro? Battle of the 3 Nations...
I like this review. you shouldve done the same test with the avanza and veloz
thanks!!! more power! just subscribed
this is a good economy vehicle, just what is needed. no luxury. no bs
turbo lag and if it is fly by wire accelartor (gas) pedal you also get some lag from input to engine output
A great video. Well explained and to the point.
@5:27 , the dreaded 3-cylinder engine vibrations
Both the 1.2 and 1.0T of Raize seem nice. But there are better options in that price range.
Drop option in that price range then pls
Like what? its not just the price and features that matters, but also the aftersales and parts availability.
MG and Geely are both quite a contender at this price range, but the issue is their supply chain
@@Ant-Toni31 Raize is also a new car in the market and I've read some complaints about parts inavailability which is normal in most cases.
@@QwertYuiop-dg8yp Kona, Stonic, MG ZS are better in my opinion.
who is better, honda city RS or that Toyota Raize turbo? because I plan to buy?
Honda City is definitely the better car. The engine itself is already proven even since the 1st model of the city series. The Resale value is also very high because of it's engine - not to mention it's safety features and spacious interior
The advantage of Raize is that it has a 200mm ground clearance which is definitely a thing to consider if you always pass on a rough and bumpy road or a flood prone road
Honda City is more for the "City" drive so in short, City for the superb engine and if you are inclined with cruising spiritedly and go for Raize if if you are fine with adequate speed and if you need that high ground clearance 😊
I guess my money would be on the NA Raize rather than the turbo... despite a few downgrade in trim and safety devices, it's more economical to run and maintain than the trubo... I can handle the few compromises the NA carries over the turbo... P124,000 off is still a big chunk of change to save...
the breaks of our Raize 1.2 G CVT are so noisy, ang lakas ng tunog pag napreno. meon b dto with same issue? o gnun tlga un pg nagbbreak?
In Indonesia 1.2 G manual and CVT just in Single tone color.
I already bought the Red G Variant and Im so satisfied. ♥️ Sad to say after 7 months, the front windshield cracked(but not broken) when some "flying stone" hit it. 😭 Replacement will take like 1 month as per what the agent said. Ugh
Woah, how did the flying stone crack it? Is the screen easy to crack?
kala ko mga japanese cars basic lang ang mga parts, inaabot din pala ng 1month?
Pwdng comparo ng chery tigo 2 mid variant AT,same with MG zs, kia stonic, toyota raize, budget meal comparo automatic based variant
I wanted this but it's true, the power of this car is lacking especially when loaded. You're only 3 but the car is already showing some struggling. Imagine if its 5 people with some luggage at the back. Now thinking twice. What can you guys suggest aside from the HRV?
I got a g and it was enough for my needs, it even has power mode
Thinking about getting the turbo or the xpander gls. What do you guys think?
The Xpander is overwhelmingly underpowered and overrated. You might as well go with Honda BRV or Hyundai Stargazer if you're looking for a 7-seater.
@@pakunodapavlovic decided to go for the yaris cross v instead
Thank you for this video and yes i subscribed
Dude, can you do a review like this on the Toyota Rush 2023. Thanks!!!
Ive driven my raize to Tagaytay, just me and 1 pax though. It's fine and a bit peppier if you use the power mode.
@@lucky889s9 1.5L iVTEC vs 1.2 VVTi! With better fuel economy. Our Mobilio cracked 22 km/ltr on the highway.
@@elyserva7903 if you watch the video, this is designed mostly for city driving. And it cracked 12km/L and 24km/L. Mobilio's material and features are bad. NVH is harsh. Those seats are wafer thin and hurt your back after long drive. There's reason it became taxi and has been discontinued. It only feels a bit faster above 80 kmh
sana na compare yung base model to top of the line... IMHO lang po sana kasi yung price range nila napaka laki eh
